Maybe that is where they came up with the name, cause we always wonder why they called the restaurant "The Deli" when the food is so much more then Deli food.
If you ever get out to Queen Creek, you really need to stop at The Deli and grab a bite to eat. They had a special Valentine's dinner on Sunday, by reservation only. This is the first time they have ever been open on Sunday, and it was so nice to have a special meal prepared. They were all ready for us, with our name on our table, fresh flowers, and we just sat back and enjoyed our "deli"cious meal. They even had to stop taking reservations cause they got booked up. How great is that?
Here ya go…enjoy!
First Course:
Sauteed Shrimp, Butter, Garlic, White Wine & Fresh Herbs, the lemon halve was hollowed out and the hot butter and herbs was inside. It was delicious. As you can see my ever-by-my-side carmex, and My Precious (adorned with some beautiful tulips) also accompanied us for dinner.
Second Course:
Baby Greens, Roasted Butternut Squash Candied Pecans & A Bacon Vinaigrette with Butternut Squash Bisque Shooter, and here I go never telling a lie, I was such a dork and poured my shooter on my salad (and then Jeff did it too – monkey see monkey do) and we were supposed to drink it as a beverage. I hope no one saw us in the kitchen and was like "what the heck is going on at that table?" I wish I had of re-read the menu before we left cause then I would have known what is was. Oh well it all ends up in the same place doesn't it?
Third Course:
Hand Torn Pasta tossed in a Red Wine Braised Short Rib Ragu, Parmesan Cheese & Fresh Basil – this was so good, and the little thing on top, is a lettuce leaf of some kind that is dried, and then it turns salty. I wish I could remember what it is. I think Penny made them at one of the Trilogy Scrapbook clubs and they were so good.
Dessert:
We had a choice of a Red Velvet Cupcake with Whip Cream, or Fresh Fruit with Sweet Cream, and we both choose the fruit cause we were so full from eating our shooters.
This was a great Valentine's Day, Jeff and I could not remember ever going out for a fancy Valentine's Day dinner. This one was very special, and it was nice to go out on a "date".
I came home and quickly made up a 3×3 little card, I still had paper, stamps and ink laying out from my FLICKs preparation, I am so very tired after not getting many hours of sleep last night, so this old gal is gonna watch a bit of the Olympics, I love the figure skating, and is it Mogul that they ski with their knees bobbing up and down so fast? That looks like it has to be hard on your whole body. Oops, the two American guys just messed up. These Olympians are all winners in my book, and amazing what they can do. I love the snow pant outfit colors. What does that Shaun White do? Is it a single board in the snow?
Stamp Set: Family Phrases, Fox & Friends, Beary Best Times
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP
Ink: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Jetblack Stazon
Tomorrow is a busy day, I got to get all my paper cut for my TLC class this coming weekend, the ladies at the Trilogy Scrapbook club have a workshop on Wednesday, and I have the last touches to put on the Spring Fling make n takes.
Have a beautiful Monday, and a great President's Day, thanks for stopping in!

Yup…the Deli is one of the best places I've EVER eaten…and it doesn't seem to matter what I order, it's FABULOUS. Make sure you put it on your list of things to do when you come to Arizona. 🙂
Too bad the Deli is so far away from San Antonio! It looks like a great place to eat. Glad you guys had such a nice dinner!
yes the moguls are the ones with their knees bouncing all over the place…..and CANADA WON GOLD IN THAT!!!
did you see!!!
Luv ya
Jax
Gute story. Honestly…I woulda poured the shooter on my salad too.
