Spring Fling Equals Stew

This 'n' That

14 Feb

So I was at Rhonda's all day today and into the morning…we are working on our upcoming Spring Fling that will be on March 13th.  You do not want to miss it.

So I did not get home till…late/early…I won't tell you what time cause you will think I am insane that I came home and blogged a recipe, when I should have went to bed.  But it's like habit man, every night before I go to bed, I blog.  Call me crazy.  So anyway, this is the recipe I promised you.  Sharon said I could certainly post it, but that I needed to tell that she actually got the recipe from her friend Terry.  So I thank both of them, and you will too when you try it.  Yummy!

Oven Stew

1 14.5oz. can of diced tomatoes

1 cup water

2 tbsp. cornstarch

2 tsp. sugar

1/8 tsp. pepper

1/8 tsp. salt

1 lb. stew meat

3 carrots

3 medium potatoes

1 medium onion

2 stalks celery

In a bowl combine tomatoes, water, cornstarch, sugar, salt and pepper. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Cut the meat up into smaller pieces, cut up veggies, small pieces are best. Mix all together in a 2 1/2 qt. corning ware dish that has a lid.  Pour the tomato mixture over top of the meat and vegetables, and mix around well.  Put lid on dish.  Place in heated oven and cook 2 hours or until meat and veggies are done.  This is very good.

You can buy these Pillsbury Honey Rolls and if you cook those, and then dish up the stew and break up the rolls and put them on top of the stew and eat them all together.  In fact, after the stew is cooked, I bring it out of the oven and then cook the rolls, and the stew is still steaming hot when the rolls are done. This is so yummy.

I hope you like it, and now I am headed to bed.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day! Kiss yer honey!

Thanks for stopping in!

We are expecting 4-7 inches of snow for tomorrow (again ;( ) so I'm off the the store for stew meat. This sounds perfect for a cold and snowy day. Thanks for sharing.
