My First

3-D Items

19 Feb
First big shot flower

You have probably seen these all over blog-dome, but I had not tried one.  I rummaged through my closet, and found an old vest that I have not wore in like forever, it is probably like 20 years old.  It was the perfect kind of material to use. Before I go out and buy material I wanted to give it a shot…a Big Shot!

It was pretty easy, and it turned out pretty nice, antiquey looking.  I found an old button in a jar and sewed it on.  That was probably the hardest part, the sewing, I had to use an old thimble to push the needle and thread through the material.

First big shot flower

It was kinda hard to take a good picture, that captured the colors of the material.  I stuck it on my black toque, and it shows up a bit better there, I think it will look adorable on my jean jacket.  I definitely want to make some more.

I used the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die.  I want to play around with some different material, and some of the other Dies.

I am so glad that Evan won the gold in Men's Figure skating, he totally deserved it.   The one skater that dressed like Charlie Chaplin and then had a broken lace, I did not know if it was part of the routine at first, when he was walking kinda funny, but then when he headed over to the judges, and had the lace broke.  He sure fixed it in a hurry and got back to his routine. I think the silver winner looked kinda like a sore loser on the podium.

Ok, not much chat from me tonight, I am headed to bed, and will see you tomorrow.

Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping in!

Love those Material flowers. How many layers do you use? Good job for your first time. I have to try this, just been procrastinating.

    Marge,
Thanks! I think there was like 6 or more layers of each size but I folded them to make them be thicker looking. I also added one piece of solid black in there too. The vest was lined with black.

Beautiful flower and I love the colors. I havent' tried yet, but I've got several tuts saves and a pattern to try to. If you're like me, you can't afford to buy the awesome creations (I do have one from Gypsy Brocante I got during an incredible sale she was having).

Yes, isn't it wonderful that an American won? He is one of my favorites.

    Smiles~

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
