Oh my gosh American Idol, we didn't talk about it, I totally forgot…I had to find my notes, and now I gotta remember what the heck I was talking about, and maybe you won't even remember either. BFF Tracy and my bunny mutilator pal Robin will have to help.
What my notes say:
Girl in Nightie…ok I think there was a girl in a long dress that reminded me of a nightie but the girls on the panel liked it. I guess that is the norm anymore, I can not tell you how many people I see at the grocery store that look like they are in their pajama bottoms and slippers.
Mario the Giggler…that was so funny, I think he laughed out of nervousness and then Simon would laugh too. It proves that Simon has a sense of humor and I think he tries to come off as a tough guy.
Karaoke chick with rag on her head, good: OK I can not even remember, I think this was the girl with the young child and she was a good singer, and I think they brought her forward.
Making the guy take his shirt off: OK that was ridiculous, and I think it was mean, if the guys had of done that to a girl they would have gotten into trouble. I think he got put through.
Kenny a.k.a Urkle – Screaming: this guy reminded me of Steve Urkle off of the show Family Matters, they were both obnoxious and hard to get rid of.
Football Player, egad: Don't quit your day job (which is probably looking at his self many times in the mirror) go back to football.
Florence Girl, beautiful skin?: Ok so this girl comes all the way from Florence I can't remember if she got put through or not, but the guest judge says "you have beautiful skin"…what the?? Sometimes I roll my eyes at their comments.
That's all the notes I had. At least they showed more of the people going through to Hollywood, and I can't wait till next week when they start in Hollywood and Ellen will finally be on there. We are keeping an eye on Aaron Kelly, cause he is a nephew of a friend and fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (Hi Patti!!). Go Aaron!!
So there is this one blog Anita's Hobby Blogg I look at all the time, and you have to translate it as it is typed in Norwegian, but it is beautiful and Anita is one talented lady.
I saw this cute box on there, and totally had to make one. It's called the Three Kings Box, Anita's is cuter, but mine is not too shabby. Anita has a template over there to make it.
Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Build a Roo
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Sending Love Specialty Paper, Watercolor paper, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Misc: Chocolate Taffeta, White gel pen, My Way punch, Small Heart punch, Word Window punch, Chocolate Chip Epoxy brads
So I have I Love Lucy on and it just keeps playing episode after episode,it was on last night too. So last night they were in California and now it looks like they live in a farm house. They are in black and white, and they are very funny. Lucy was beautiful and her beauty shone through even with the black and white film. They always wear these poofy dresses, and the heels, and they just always look so dressed up. Some days I wish it still were like that, I remember playing as a kid and I would dress up like Samantha from Bewitched she was a little modern with the capris and stuff, and the cute little shoes. Now I live in jeans, and boots…ha!
What TV shows did you watch growing up, and pretend to be a character from them?
Well I am gonna sign off for now. Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in.
OH my gosh that box is awesome!! I'm gonna have to check out Anita's site.
Okay.. what show….uum…dontcha remember Charlies Angels and the Bionic woman and we would hang out with Janet and Carol and Laurette and Joe and we would all pretend we were Charlies Angels and Joe would be Bosley!!!! And then we would pretend we were the Bionic Woman and when we ran we would make that "tick tick tick" noise like they did on the show when she was doing bionic stuff!! Ha …good times!!!
Luv ya
Jax
OMG – DI! What about Bikini Boy?!!!!
What a freak! And the worst was when he was scratching his right cheek – eewww!
Are people REALLY that desperate to get noticed? Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it!
Your notes just about cover the other high or is that low lights? The bandana girl was good and she did get through.
Cute box, btw! Hope your party was good yesterday!
This box is quite interesting, I like it and will have to go see how it is made. You did a really cute decorating job. When I was young I had a little boy upstairs, one 2 doors over, another across the street, and we played baseball, football, climbed trees, and cowboys and indians. So, Roy Rogers, Gene Autrey, Tonto — lots of cowboy and indian stuff, and my pictures are hillarious! Throw in some princess stuff and mom's high heels, a little mousketeer stuff, and that pretty much kept me happy (now I've really dated myself). Have a great day.
OK No more waiting a week to post AI comments!! I can't remember anything except Aaron Kelly only because there is intrest in him due to Patti. I'm getting so old!!
I was gonna go look at our text messages from that night but they were all erased because we TOTALLY excided what it will hold maybe three times since last Wed!!!!!
Love Ya
Da BFF
Tracy
The box is interesting but looks very complicated…I liked being Samantha as well. However, the dishes and chores never got done when I crinkled my nose. Maybe I could get a box that way? Thanks for sharing. Mary Jo
Hi Di,
Just wanted to respond to your comment about people in the grocery store in their PJs…that makes me crazy! When did it become OK to go outside in your nighties?
dmc
This box is adorable!
That box is a very unique design, it's really cool and I love the kanga!!
Showing my age…I always wanted to be a girl spy on Man from Uncle LOL!!! I also had a ton of old clothes from the great grandma and great aunts, so my friends and I dressed up like we were going to fancy parties (borrowed mom's costume jewelery). It was a lot of fun! Thanks for the chance to reminisce on memory lane!
Hi, Di (hey, that rhymes!)-
I love to watch I Love Lucy…she's my favorite!! I liked to play Bonanza when I was growing up. This was the show with Michael Landon who played "Joe." My grandma was the Chinese cook. I miss those shoes!
I am a HUGE I Love Lucy fan, and I watch the reruns whenever I see them on. It's funny you mentioned about how they dressed. My daughter is getting married in October. I'm not a big "dress" person, so I wanted to get some elegant pants like Lucy wore — you know the ones that had sheer fabric panels in front and back so it almost looked like a skirt. Well, it was hard to find them because I didn't have a clue what they were called, but it turns out that they are "Car Wash Pants." Ha – I have NO idea why! BUT I did find them on the internet, and now when I wear them for the wedding, I will try to channel my inner-Lucy! (I also loved Bewitched, but with the first Darren. I still try to twitch my nose when I have to clean my house!) =)
The box is great. Anita got it from Claire. She originally created it and posted the instructions on Splitcoast. They are super easy to make: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=390532
