Aim High

This 'n' That

16 Feb

DSCN0891 copy
Isn't that the feeling you get from watching the Olympics?  I love listening to the life stories of the different athletes, so many have come from hardships, made sacrifices or have a family member that has a disability that makes them work even harder.  I loved watching the Canadian Mogul Olympic Gold Winner Alexandre Bilodeau's story and seeing how proud his older brother Frederic is of him.  Frederic has Cerebral Palsy and Alexandre even dedicated his medal to his brother.  Watching the story you didn't know who was prouder of who, Alexandre of Frederic, or Frederic of Alexandre, either way the love that they have for each other, you could see it in their eyes was enough to have me bawling.

Today was a beautiful day in Arizona, and the critters are running around.  The owl has been gone for a few weeks now, and I don't know if he will be back or not. We hope so.

I have been wanting to play with my Animal Crackers stamp set and when I saw a cute card by Renee Van Stralen (well to be honest, every card Renee does is drop dead THUD gorgeous), so anyway, I can't find the card now, it was with an owl, but anyway, the layout is from Renee…thanks Renee!

Tall Dinner
Stamp Set: Animal Crackers, Family Phrases

Paper: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom, Sweet Pea DSP

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Blush Blossom, Creamy Caramel

Misc: Wide Stitched Chocolate Grosgrain, Versamarker, Paper piercer, Extra Large Two Step Bird, lots of dimensionals.

I don't know if you can see but the branches stick out a lot. This angle will help you see it better.

I wanted to make it look like the giraffe was in the trees. I actually cut off his body, and cut off the star and cut his mouth open so he could hold a leaf.

The set looks like this, so you can see what it looks like before I got messing around with it:

Have a great Tuesday, and thanks for stopping in!

Oh my gosh, I just love this!!! He's adorable. What a creative card, that's really neat how you've used the leaves for branches and the leaf in his mouth as well.

I too cried and cried when I watched Alex Bilodeau win his medal, and the pride in his brother's eyes was absolutely heartfelt!! What an awesome story, and sadly, every time I see it I cry. What a baby I am! 🙂

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
