So at Leadership my BFF Tracy and I asked for a King Size bed when we made our hotel reservations. For one it is usually easier to get a connecting room if you have a King and your connecting peeps, MAMMa and Rhonda (hey honey's) want their own bed. But really it is also a personal preference of ours.
When we checked in the lady at the desk said "you know it is a King size bed?", and we were like "We know", and she gave us this look, and then I am thinking well do we have to explain why? Well maybe I should so no one thinks we are all kinky and stuff.
We do this cause I am deaf. If we get two beds, then when we get in bed and start to gab at night, the danged old lamp from the table in between the beds is in the way. I have to leave my hearing aids in and my glasses on so I can hear Tracy and read her lips, then they squeal and I can't lay my head on the pillow.
So this year was perfect, I could take my ears out, and we could still gab. Tracy was close enough I can hear and see to read her lips. In fact, I took my ears out and I guess I was talking louder then normal and Tracy was like "hey talk softer, you're the deaf one not me!" I mean Tracy and I don't see each other very often so we have lots to catch up on when we do get together.
Hey have you started getting your taxes together yet? Well the new year is here and that means a new mileage book…fun! Wanna see mine?
Pardon? What? Huh? That's it? Well of course not silly, this is the before picture. I got a few of these at my local craft store, and who cares what initial is on it, cause I am gonna cover it anyway, and I love the little books that you don't have to mess with the spine, cause they have left it plain, it makes it so much easier.
Wanna see the after picture?

Do you love certain smells? Do some of them remind you of when you were a kid, maybe your Mum's perfume or something.
My favorite smell is…ok no being grossed out, but I love my hubby's smell, when I nuzzle his neck and he has his cologne on he smells good, his body chemistry mixes so good with cologne, I remember when I first met him in our carnie days, and he smelled like the cologne Opium and gas (he worked at the haunted house and had to run a chain saw all day to scare people at the end of the ride). Another smell I love is when you are doing the wash and you use Downy in the washtub. There is just something about it that I really like.
What about you? What are a couple of your favorite smells and why?
Well I am gonna sign off and go watch Desperate Housewives, I missed the show after the Christmas crash, I need to google and see what happened.
Have a super Monday and thanks for stopping in!
That's actually pretty smart, Diana, sharing the bed. Makes a lot of sense. Good for you!
Smells – fresh cut grass makes me swoon. reminds me of Saturday mornings when I was a kid, and my Dad would mow the lawn at some ung-dly hour, with talk radio on in the background. Hated it then, but would love to experience it again now.
I picked up a couple of those notebooks, didn't know what I would do with them, but for $1 I HAD to have them. Thanks for sharing this idea, I don't need a mileage log, but maybe computer passwords or funny sayings my granddaughters come up with. I also love the smell of my DH. He always smells so good, just good old soap and deo but with his chemistry it makes my socks roll up and down!
Cute little book!
do you have like a chart inside or is it just lined paper and you write down whatever for the day?
Cinnamon Buns…I love the smell of cinnamon buns!!!
I love, love, love the smell of Stampin Up's stampin mist!
I'd have to say one of my favorite smells is the one of a new box of crayons, brings back so many memories. I also love the new smell of babies. It's amazing how a certain smell can bring up emotions and memories. Thanks!
That is too stinkin' cute! And you will certainly know it's the milage log. Can't you see the IRS looking through that if you were ever audited…a new customer for sure! I love to smell cookies baking, fresh coffee, my pups after a bath and my little grandson (2 yrs) after he puts his "good smelly" on.
You are to funny. I absolutely love your blog, everything you share. You should have told them "Ya, we sleep together" when she told you it was a king sized bed. Then they back off real fast. Great little mileage book.
OMGosh!!! I LOVED that King size bed!!(We will totally do that for now on!!)It was so perfect for our Wee Hour Chat Fests. BUT big enough that ya didn't touch legs /feet during a "Thought I was in my own bed" Rollover. The thought of panic while waking up in the midst of a roll and relizing your not home "Oh Gosh don't touch"!!!!! Ha!!!
This is not my favorite smell but I can bet we've all had customers or even ourselves who LOVE the smell of the Stazon Pad. When ya use it in class there is always someone who Yummm's over the way it smells!!!
Love Ya
Da BFF Tracy
Talking about Smells…Cute Cute Story!!!
This year at school there is this beautiful little girl Cecilia, she has the most beautiful long brown hair and always wears it down. One day while Cecilia was playing at the sand table, all busy having fun, paying attention to nothing else. Robert comes up behind her and just stands about a foot away and you could see him JUST SMELLING Cecilia's Hair!! Had he not been 4 yrs old it could have been perverted!! But nope it was Precious!!!
To this day Cecelia never knew Robert did that! But you can bet the darling story was shared with their parents!!
I'm guessing Robert will always have a Memory of the Smell of Cecilia's hair in pre-school.
Way Cute! I'd share a king sized with you sexy one!!! hehe!!!!! The cover of that is just sweeet! Wish you were going to CHA this year, going to miss you buckets!
Hugs
Vicki
Wow King Size bed….I share a Queens Size at convention… but King Size sound so much better. I'll have to try it.
My favorite all time Men's colgne is BRUT I just love it when my husband wears it but you know what he wound up getting some Estee Lauder men's cologne and loves it but I hate it on him….so I don't get the BRUT smell. Another one is Old Spice!
In addition to a great mileage book, I got a bonus of not one but two great stories. I love the smell of a campfire.
I just KNEW I would find a use for these little journals. I've had a couple of them stashed away just waiting to find a use for them. Thank yyyoooouuuuu:)
Love your King Size Bed Story – Thanks for sharing—-You are a HOOT!
The all time smell I LOVE is that of a baby….It has to be the best smell ever in my book.
Thanks for your amzing blog – love stopping over ever day a visiting. Kadie in Arizona
Ooooooo…. I LIKE this! i bought a similar notebook a few months ago. It's still sitting in the Michael's bag because I lost the 'idea' for altering somewhere and never got back to it.
THANKS for sharing 🙂
PS: I can totally relate to your story. My son is deaf and when traveling we always start out in the same bed. I still get queen beds in the hotel because once he's asleep I move to my own space. Otherwise I wake up with his foot in my face (Funny how kids run in circles when they sleep!)
