Cheers To You

This 'n' That

20 Dec

Close up martini diana gibbs
Ok, so I didn't mean to fib, I know I said I would make a card with my new Messages for Mom set, but Stampin' Up! put up the Artisan challenge stuff for this month, and I wanted to show what I sent in. I hate to have someone else beat me to my own punch cocktail…right?  I have seen my stuff pop up on other people's blogs so I figure I would like to show it first. I didn't think they were ever gonna put it up, I checked every day, and they kept showing our Christmas swap cards.  I think they had a slow down cause of the photography.  This month our challenge was to use the "Join in the Cheer" Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die. So I wanted it more for a New Years card then a Christmas card.

I only had time to do one card cause of classes, and doing Leadership display work, but I think it turned out great, and I was thinking of MAMMa and Rhonda when I did it.  They love drinking dirty martini's, so this card is a toast to our friendship and how much I love them both. You can bet they will be having one or two of them at Leadership!!! Cheers to you! Love ya's.

Stamp Set: Cheers to You

Paper: jackpot DSP, Real Red, Basic Black, So Saffron, Watercolor Paper

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Bashful Blue, Going Gray, Old Olive, Real Red, So Saffron

Misc: White gel pen, dimensionals, Big Shot, Join in the Cheer Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die

If you have not seen the Die it looks like this:

Cheers

I hope you can see it ok, it looks kinda light on here. But anyway, if you notice I have an "s" on my card and there is no "s" on the strip.  What I did was I took the & sign in between the words and see how it has that curly looking thing in between it?  I trimmed it a little and turned it upside down and it turned into an S.

See, how easy eh? Now that's thinking with your dip stick Jimmy!

So today after class Jeff and I watched the movie "New In Town", OMG! it was hilarious.  The one part where the two almost get caught by the daughter and he picks up the remote and sends the candy dish flying, I had to replay that like 4 times, I was laughing so hard I had tears.  I definitely need to buy this movie, I think it will be a good one when my BFF Tracy comes…unless she has already seen it.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!

love the card–so cheerful! your friends will love it.

about New In Town…i think you have to be from the North to enjoy that movie and appreciate its humor. my husband and i went to see it–we are transplants to GA from IL–and we were the only two in the theater laughing. too bad for them, because Harry Connick and Rene Zelwiger were hilarious!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
