What a Day

This 'n' That

19 Nov

Today was a busy day.  I got up bright and early to head over to Trilogy for the Top Note Chum Class.

They made these little guys. I found them on Tammy Beaver's blog. They could make as many as they wanted at class.

I took a couple pictures of the girls making their chums.

Sponging and sponging and did I say sponging? Santa, he was the most popular

 Having fun with Rudolph.

No one was at the Elf table when I was taking pics.

I think everyone enjoyed themselves, and they whipped almost 52 of them out (we had a couple ladies out sick and they couldn't make it.  Penny and Mercy get better real soon!) in about 3 hours!

So when I got up this morning Aunt Flo(w) had arrived. I never know what to expect any more.  I swear once I had my tubes tied it got super bad.  In high school the Doc put me on birth control pills to help, and I had two strokes while on them.  So that was not good, and also has me worried about any kind of hormone treatments in my future.  So anyway, I was fine until I finished loading up and my truck and started to drive home and the pains started, I made it home, and went right to bed.  But it was so bad I was past the point of being able to sleep it away.  So a few hours of crying, and clutching my stomach, the pain finally subsided where I could go to sleep. I wish the Doc would just give me some pain pills that would knock me out when it got like that.  It is my left side that causes me problems…even with all the pain I was thankful that it came after I was done with the girls, and also that it was not this coming Friday when we will be standing in line for New Moon…ok anyway, sorry for all that girl chatter…I hope I didn't lose you…cause look at this adorable card…it has a basket and you know how I love to color baskets, wood and buckets…things like that.

What do you think? Is it so adorable that you forgive me the prior paragraph?

Stamp Set: Peace Within

Paper: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Hostess Level 1 paper pack

Ink: Basic Black

Misc: White Taffeta, Stumps, Sansodor, Watercolor Pencils

This is a standard size card 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

If the card looks blurry, I have found if you click on it, it will make it bigger and then it seems clearer.

Well I gotta get to bed….I am only half way through my re-read of New Moon and I wanted to finish it before the movie on Friday…will I do it?  I don't think so, but never say never.  I have read it before, I am just jogging my memory.  But it is amazing how I have forgotten things in it.

Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

It looks like the Trilogy ladies were having fun!
I really like that card – the colour combo is very nice. Not sure I have a basket, but I'm sure I have something else I can substitute in there to case the card.
I think you need to go and get the doc to remove those painful objects you have….you should not have to go through pain like that each month….purely to house surplus parts you don't need.
    Luv ya

Wow, what a lovely card! I do enjoy reading your blog.
I feel for you. I used to get really sick for a few hours every month as well, to the point of throwing up. Not fun. I always found a heating pad would help alleviate the pain. Mind you, it didn't take it away, but it helped. Eventually, I grew out of it, but I really think you should see a doctor about it. Wish you well.

I like your card a lot and it also looks like your class at Trilogy was a big success! I also agree with the previous comments…you should try a heating pad. It helped for me. And also, the doctor may be able to fix it permanently! I'm so sorry you have to go through that.

    GORGEOUS card!!!

So sorry you have such a nasty Aunt Flo; I did, too. Time to talk with your doctor about a hysterectomy. I'm so glad I had it done. Others may have a different opinion, but I don't think women should have to suffer like that.

I would love to attend your classes, but it would be a little far to drive from California! Your art is amazing, and reading your blog is a bright spot of my days!

Hang in there, and hope you enjoy New Moon!

    Hi Di,

Sorry you were in so much pain. Your doc needs to find a reason to remove at least part so Aunt Flo goes away permanently and so does the pain!!

I love the card, that little bird is so sweet and the basket beautifully done. Hope you're having fun at the movies, fangs and all!!

love the chums. is there a pattern anywhere for them?
I, too, feel for you. I use to have to have my feet higher than my head the first day, Yuck. I finally had surgery and it has been wonderful since. talk to your doc about it.
love your blog and I, too, wish I was closer but OH is really a long way away. I make and mail 125 cards a month so am always looking for new ideas. also teach 3 different groups of gals how to make cards. I have everything cut, ready to them to stamp and put together. have a blast.

Hi Diana, reading thru your blog (like always) and saw your comment about a stroke. I had a stroke earlier this year because of the birth control pills I was on to stop my excessive bleeding. I am doing well now but the pills are no longer an option (they didn't work so well anyway). I recently had an IUD inserted and so far, no bleeding or other side affects. Ask your DR, that may be an option for you before you consider surgery.

PS: my adopted upline is Tina R. and I know your BFF Tracy, too! Have fun at Leadership and be sure to share everything.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
