New Moon Excitement

This 'n' That

20 Nov

This post is gonna be quick, I gotta get to bed so I can get a few hours sleep, I gotta get up bright and early to head over to MAMMa's and we are driving together to get in line to see New Moon. I got my little folding chair and my camera to get pics of everyone, and I am hoping I can get some sleep.  I never did get the New Moon book done.  Oh well.  I will read for a few hours still so I will get close to being finished.

I whipped up a quick cute card tonight with an old favorite set.  Remember Betsy the Beekeeper?  The date on the sticker says 1998.  So it is definitely an oldie but a goodie.

I took two pictures.  One with DSP behind and one with white behind to see if it makes a difference and which you like best.

DSCN9698 copy

Here it is with the DSP, it kinda shows the shape and edges of the card better.

DSCN9700 copy

And here it is with the white.  Which do you like best? Can you see one better then the other?

The recipe is simple, the stamp set is Betsy the Beekeeper, the paper is Whisper White, I stamped with Basic Black, and colored with watercolor pencils, stumps and sansodor.

Cute eh?

Well I am off to bed, I will give my opinion of New Moon tomorrow, I can't even describe how excited I am.

Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping in.

Oh I wish I was coming to sit in line with you!
I was gonna try and go see it tonight – but I think I will wait a bit until all the screaming 13 year olds have seen it!
    Luv ya

Cute card, Di! I think I like the picture with the pattern paper behind your card. I always use white too. Maybe I will try this! Good luck on getting New Moon tickets.

    Go see it!

I think I like the one with the designer paper better. Cute card, by the way!

I love this blast from the past Di. Have to dig through my stash and find this one. Definitely liking the DSP backed picture. It pulls out some of the color from the card. Kinda reminds me of honeycomb too though without the tell tale shape. Maybe cut a Top Note frame from that and remake the card inside the frame? Love the simplicity of the card as it is now but the frame might really make the color pop!

Now I know where the dotted line stamp I found at a swap meet comes from! I thought it looked familiar. And now I know why…I have that set somewhere! I've had it sitting out just in case I came across it while pageing through really old catalogs. Don't you love it when you can pick up random stamps for a nickle or a dime?

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
