September to Remember...

...and it sure was.

Today was our group event "September to Remember", we have been planning it (so to speak) since May.  Rhonda and I put these events on several times a year, and this time we were blessed with having Linda Hansen coming to speak to us and demonstrate too.  I want to share some pictures, and then I got to hit the hay, we have to take Linda to the airport tomorrow.  She is such a sweet sweet lady and I am sure glad I got to know her better. I even brought her home after dinner so she could see my stamp studio, oh and all you girls that went to the event, Linda says my stamp room is NOT MESSY!!!

Here are Rhonda, Linda and I.  We took this at the end of the day, so we don't look too worse for wear.  So earlier in the day we took pictures, and I said "how is my hair?  I don't have a cowlick do I?" and everyone was like "NO!" So I look at the pictures later, and I was like OMG!  I had the hugest cowlick in my life, so if you see pictures popping up on blogs, and you see me with this humongous "Something About Mary" hair gel happening...just look away, and thank your lucky stars you don't have my hair issues.  So luckily we could retake these.  I will share more people pics later, we are all emailing each other pictures.  Rhonda, Linda, and I went out to eat after with MAMMa and Jenn, and we have pictures from dinner, we went to the Deli and those pictures turned out awesome.

Yesterday I showed you a tree using the O Christmas tree die, and here are a few more that I had to show at my demo table, these are very addicting.

Here are the make n takes everyone did.

A fun Christmas card...(obviously they will put their own photo on it) This just happens to be one of the creatures hanging on the wall in our front room, my hubby is a hunter.  I know I really should not have put the Santa hat on him, but really isn't it the perfect AZ Christmas card?

Season of Friendship card.  I got this idea from Ilina Crouse, and just altered it slightly.

The stair step card. This is the front view.

This is the side view.  This pattern is off of Splitcoast stampers.

They made a box, with 4 cards and envelopes.  The pattern is from Valerie Stangle.

Here are the cards that went inside...simple and elegant.

Stenciled tote

This picture was hard to take, but everyone made a stenciled tote.

More girls

Well I gotta say that I had a blast and I think everyone had fun, we have such a great group of girls, and it is nice seeing them make new friends and catching up with old friends that they don't see very often.  I am off to bed, I am a tired old woman!

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!

Blog Banner Tips

I have had such fun playing with My Digital Studio (watch for a fun announcement on my blog on September 30th). I have not had as much time to play because of our September to Remember event and designing for my classes, but I have been sneaking time in, one thing that is fun about is, I can play and not make a mess. Sure I still enjoy getting my hands all inky, but it is kinda neat to design and then use that as like a pattern and make the card or page for "real".

One of the things I did was play around and make a new blog header, I saw my friend Patsy Waggoner had used My Digital Studio (MDS) to do hers and she gave me some great tips on how to do it. Thanks Patsy, I will never ditch you ever again...ha!

This is what I did:

I went into MDS and started to make an 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook page.  I did one from scratch, not one of the templates.  I played around with the colors and the punches and stamps till it looked how I wanted it.  I added text. Then I scrolled down a bit and added some text and put my signature line and put some background to go along with the header, then I saved it as a JPEG.

The page looked like this:

Blog header with signature-001

So using my Photoshop program (you may have another program you use) I then opened up this JPEG and then cropped it so it was the size I wanted, and then I re-sized it so it would work for my blog.

I had to go back and forth between re-sizing it and to get it to look right on my blog, I am NOT a computer whiz, so I am sure I did it the hard way, but hey I love it and feel proud that I did it by myself (with Patsy's help).

I don't know how to do it for other blogs, I just understand typepad, (to a certain extent) so if you have blogger or something, this may or may not work, but I just wanted to answer all the questions I have been getting on how I did it.

Hope you have fun playing with MDS.

Have an awesome Saturday, I'll post pics from our September to Remember event tomorrow!

O Christmas Tree

So Saturday is the big day...September to Remember.  I go and pick up Linda Hansen at the airport tomorrow and I am so excited to see her.

One of the things that we are going to Demonstrate at our event is the cool new pop-up die "O Christmas Tree", so it is my technique, and I have been playing with it a little bit.

This is my first tree, it is not too fancy, basically I am just teaching everyone how to put it together, we are all Demonstrators, decorating comes easy, so I think people can handle that part on their own.  I did stick a few ornaments and a star on it from the Tree Decorations Sizzlits Die.

I cut out a piece of Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, it has flocking on it, and I used the Scallop circle bigz, this way it looks like a tree skirt.  The trees are meant to fold all up so it pops out of a card, I don't know if I will ever actually mount them in a card, I like the decoration part of it.  Once I sticky stripped it to the "skirt" now it stays put and it can not be folded.  If I send them in a card, I will send them just put together and flattened and loose, so the person can use it as a decoration. How cute would these be on a table...with some fake snow sprinkled around?

As I am typing this Grey's Anatomy is on and I am trying to see the monitor with big crocodile tears streaming down my face.  I hope you didn't miss it.

Well that's it for me, I gotta pack my totes for Saturday!

Have a wonderful Friday and thanks for stopping in!

I Know They Aren't Real

Vampires, that is.

Now when I watch True Blood or read the Sookie Stackhouse books that the series is based on, the vampires sleep on that show, they just drop off at dawn, and wake up at night.

But in Twilight, the vampires do not sleep...so let's say vampires were real, and I could choose which kind I could be, I would go with the Twilight ones, cause then I would not have to go to sleep, since it is now almost 1am and I am just getting home from being at Rhonda's all day finishing up the September to Remember event stuff, and I could stay up all night and stamp a nice card to post for you...but instead  I got to hit the hay, and you get me quickly babbling before I say night night, sleep tight, don't let the vampires bed bugs bite.

Have a super Thursday and thanks for stopping in!

Dasher is dashing

One of the most popular stamps right now is one of our under $10.00 stamps, and he's single!
He also comes in a decor elements too! What fun! Tip: Put the Dasher Decor Elements on the glass of a frame, then you can hang him up just in the Christmas season.

This is a quick post as I am stuffing envelopes for our September to Remember event. Rhonda was over today and we got tons of paper cut, so now its got to get stuffed.

So I will show you another card from my 10/10/20 Christmas class from this weekend.
