So Saturday is the big day…September to Remember. I go and pick up Linda Hansen at the airport tomorrow and I am so excited to see her.
One of the things that we are going to Demonstrate at our event is the cool new pop-up die "O Christmas Tree", so it is my technique, and I have been playing with it a little bit.
This is my first tree, it is not too fancy, basically I am just teaching everyone how to put it together, we are all Demonstrators, decorating comes easy, so I think people can handle that part on their own. I did stick a few ornaments and a star on it from the Tree Decorations Sizzlits Die.
I cut out a piece of Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, it has flocking on it, and I used the Scallop circle bigz, this way it looks like a tree skirt. The trees are meant to fold all up so it pops out of a card, I don't know if I will ever actually mount them in a card, I like the decoration part of it. Once I sticky stripped it to the "skirt" now it stays put and it can not be folded. If I send them in a card, I will send them just put together and flattened and loose, so the person can use it as a decoration. How cute would these be on a table…with some fake snow sprinkled around?
As I am typing this Grey's Anatomy is on and I am trying to see the monitor with big crocodile tears streaming down my face. I hope you didn't miss it.
Well that's it for me, I gotta pack my totes for Saturday!
Have a wonderful Friday and thanks for stopping in!
The tree is cute – I wanna see one when you have it all decked out with ornament and tinsel and the fake snow! Grey's was great – sad – but great. It certainly did not disappoint. Question – in your dictionary section…you have that you use your Sansodor for water colour crayons…do you use them with that too – I thought it was only for the pencils???
Fill me in!
Luv ya
Jax
Hi Jax, I went in and re-worded it…my Canadian speak was evident…as I still say pencil crayons and people get confused.
You can use the sansodor with both the pencils and the wonder crayons. I love using it with the wonder crayons cause then we have all the SU! colors, BUT it is hard to use them if you have a really small area, and if your crayon is dull (not a sharp point). The pencils are easier to sharpen for smaller areas. But for larger areas give the crayon a try.
Mwah and love ya,
Di
Have fun at your September to Remember. Say Hi to Linda for me. Doubt she remembers me, but say Hi anyway!
Okay so maybe I am just blonde, but could you post a video tutorial on how you put it together?? because I bought the die and was going to start making my trees so I could start my christmas cards.. and well I gave up..
Thanks,
