Well there is nothing I love more then a suggestion…even the bad ones are good. "I suggest you don't wear those particular jeans with that shirt".
But this one was even better, from my blog friend Dany: "Di, I am wondering if you would do a video on the Faux Wood Grain, the
one with the saw on it…. I love that card. I also wanted to let you
know how much I love all your videos lately. You are doing a great
job….and I love the Canadian accent mixed with an AZ one… sounds a
lot like my mom, dad and step mom after a winter down there. Also an
interesting question for ya…. you mentioned you like Canadian choc
best… which ones?"
Since the faux wood grain is one of my favorite things to do, other then coloring…ha! So after my class today I did this tutorial up for you. It shows how I did the wood grain "floor" on the back of this card, and it is also one of the techniques I taught at one of my Technique Lover's Classes.
Stamp Set: Totally Tool
Paper: Basic Black, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Ink: Basic Black, Vanilla Craft, Close to Cocoa Craft
Misc: Sponge, sansodor, stumps, watercolor pencils, art pen
If you go to this link, you can see the original post and it also shows an old wood grain card I did in March 08, pre-video days…ha!
I have an idea for a fun card using the pieces that I showed in the video, I'll show you that another day.
So
sit back and enjoy the video, I want to apologize towards the end I
forgot to pay attention to the camera viewer and was actually not in
camera, you got a great view of my hands though…oops…sorry.
To place a Stampin' Up! order click here – I appreciate it so much!
Have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!
Ooo look at those red fingernails!!!!!
I am glad you did a "toot" on it cause I am planning on doing this technique with my class on the 3rd!!!
You likee the nails? After having the black polish on last week, I kinda liked having polish on again. I just have to be careful it does not come off on my cards that is the only thing.
Glad you enjoyed the "toot" I didn't think the mic picked that up…ha! Just kidding.
Make sure to post your card when you are done.
Love ya,
Di
Terrific tutorial. I guess I need to order some Vanilla and Cocoa ink. LOL
THANKS so much for all you share.
You do a great job with your tutorials! I like this one a lot. Thanks for taking the time to do these. hugs
