The Proof is in the Pudding…

This 'n' That

19 Aug

…err I mean the Photo.

Remember when I was saying that Sharon and I had gone shopping and I found this cute giraffe patterned purse and I said I would be taking it to Convention, in fact I am still carrying it as a purse even after.  But Sharon (who knows I am a black purse only person, believe me I have tried other colors and yes, Sharon sometimes ends up with them) kept saying she would enjoy buying it off me when I never used it.

1627097 copy Well lookee here that was in the Utah Deseret Newspaper the other day…that happens to be little old me, and what is on my shoulder?  Yep that is the very same giraffe purse…ha!  Too funny eh?

Here is a link to the full article, they did a great job.  I was just taking pictures of the displays, I might have even ditched a class so the crowds were not so crazy, yeah I'm a class ditcher. (I can hear you chuckling and nodding Patsy Waggoner – ha…love ya honey)  So anyway this nice photographer came over and asked was it ok if he got a picture of me taking pictures of the cards and I said sure. (not realizing till later, he had already taken my picture, and well it was of me old backside – thank goodness he cropped it)  Then he asked my name and wrote it down.  He was asking what all the cards were about, and I was explaining Stampin' Up! and teaching people to make cards, and he asked when would the cards be judged, and I told him that these cards were for displays to inspire us, and then I will admit it… I said that Stampin' Up! did have a Artisan contest that you could send cards in and they were judged, but that had happened already, and he wanted to see those, and then I said…I know the shame…I told him….I was actually one of the ten that won…so he followed me over to the Artisan boards and took some pictures.  He commented that he thought it looked boring, and I had to explain to him that no, we taught people how to stamp, make scrapbook pages, artwork, wall decorations, and I explained that this was convention with people attending from all over, and that we took classes, and did make n takes too, met with old friends, and learned new ideas for the new catalog year etc.  He wanted to take more pictures, and asked where the classes were and I said…yeah me being bad again…that the pictures of the class probably would look boring (cause… come on they would right? a picture of people sitting in a room…that does not really show the true stamping fans that we are) I said that he really needed to go to where the action was and where he could see all the excitement, so I pointed him to the back of the hall where the Make n Take section was and I said that is where he needed to go….so I am glad he did.  I mean heck isn't that why we are all stampers, whether we are Demonstrators or not…it's the actual stamping and chatting and having fun with our friends that we are all in this business for right?

Anyway, I thought I would share that, and let you see the news article too.  I want to thank my new friend, and fellow Artisan Award winner Shanna Jensen, she called me this morning and said "hey you're in the newspaper", she lives in Utah, I had forgotten all about it. She is even gonna send me a copy…gotta love her.

Well that is a quick post for me today….have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
