Artisan Award Dinner

This 'n' That

11 Aug

Before I get to the fun part, talking about my "Night to Remember" Artisan Award dinner, I wanted to show you a couple cards that I had sent in as entries.  I will show you the rest tomorrow, and then the next day I will share the swap that us girls swapped at the dinner.  I am honored to be in such a talented group.

Here goes:

DSCN7702 copy Stamp Set: A Kind Word
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kraft, Parisian Breeze DSP, Watercolor paper
Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, Blush Blossom, So Saffron, Regal Rose
Misc: Top Note, Oval, Scallop Circle (cut in half and overlapped a little to give the look of a scalloped oval), Baja Breeze striped ribbon, Texture plate

DSCN7706 copy This is the outside of the card, I used Baja Breeze for the card base, and the Hostess bundle – Hand Drawn DSP, I also used the scallop circle punch, and circle die, I used the Baja Breeze striped ribbon

Now for the fun inside of the card…

DSCN7707 copy …I  made it a pop-up card, using the window sheets punched out with a word window punch to make it look the smoke stacks were floating in mid-air, like the bear card we did at one of my TLC classes.

Stamp Set: Boatloads of Love
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Going Gray, Whisper White craft, More Mustard, Sahara Sand, Jetblack Stazon
Paper: Baja Breeze, Hand Drawn DSP, Watercolor Paper
Misc: White gel pen, word window punch, window sheets, scallop circle punch for clouds, A Perfect Day Rub-ons

So I uploaded my pictures off my camera, and I was such a dope and never even took a picture of my own board that showed my Artisan entries.  Ha!

I do want to share some pictures though.

DSCN8838 copy First is a picture of the flowers I received and my beautiful bracelet for being an Artisan Award Winner, I need to have the bracelet made a little smaller as it falls off me. Some of the girls wore theirs to dinner, and I felt bad I didn't but I would have been sick if I had of lost it.

DSCN8840 copy Here is a close up of the heart…

DSCN8841 copy …and the engraving on the back

We had dinner at a very quaint out of the way restaurant called "Em's", it was so much out of the way that our bus driver drove around and around and next thing you know we were back at the convention center…I was like "oh my gosh I am so full" Shelli said the same thing happened last year, so we headed out one more time and this time we got there.  The food was so yummy, we had our menus waiting for us and they matched our Invitations.  I had Shelli and Brent sign the back of mine.

After dinner we all took some group photos, it was so funny cause there was probably 6 cameras and everyone was taking turns taking pictures and you didn't know where to look…we have just been emailing pictures back and forth, and this one turned out really good of everyone I think.  I think I am going to enjoy getting to know these girls through out the year, we have been emailing back and forth so much already. It was so nice cause this is the first year all the winners were together at one time.

Front Row, left to right: Shelley Bohan, Jolene Slack, Diana Gibbs (me), Summer Stone

So we were getting back on the van, and as I was sitting there I saw the rest of the girls were getting their pictures take just with Shelli and Brent so I was like hey me too! So I popped off the bus and got my picture taken too, I am glad I did I hate those "should have done this" feeling…now I won't have it for this beautiful night.

After all our picture taking a few of us decided to get on the other van, so we had the driver that knew where he was going, but oh my gosh, this guy drove like a maniac and we all thought we were gonna be sick, he kept putting his foot on the brake and then off, then on, so the van would make little leaps forward.  Thank goodness Summer's wheel chair was strapped in.  I don't know why he was acting like that. It made for an interesting end to the evening.

I will remember it for the rest of my life. Thank you Stampin' Up! I hope I can do you proud this year with my monthly Artisan challenges.

Have a awesome Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your wonderful time with us! that bracelet is too cute~ it looks like a Brighton! Someone should have bonked the driver on the back of his head and reminded him he had AWARD winners in his presence and needed to be more cautious! LOL~

Congratulations on winning! When I approached the Artisan Award Display at Convention last week and saw your name and projects on display my girlfriend and I let out a little scream! We so admire your work and your blog and were so happy to see you were one of the "chosen". You deserve it!

P.S. We were in the carry on x-ray line behind you at the SLC aiport on Sunday and we were so thrilled. My upline, Beverlee gave you a hug and said hi, but the rest of us admired you from afar!

    You rock, sister!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
