Thinking Outside of the Lunch Box

This 'n' That

9 Jul

What?  Yep that is what I said.  Heck I can always eat.  I love food.  But back to all seriousness.

When my BFF Tracy and I were looking at the new catalog when she was here, another stamp set that I knew I had to get was "Compliments to the Chef".  Why Di? Do you have dinner parties all the time? Does the Queen come over to partake in some tasty morsels?  Nope, all I could see were letters in the silverware.  Come on, you did too right?

Let me show you what I am talking about.

DSCN8454 copy What does this say?

Oh wait that was the picture I took to show you how stinking cool the silverware looks…it looks real eh? I colored with some gray watercolor pencil, blended with the old stump and sansodor, and then I added a little sage shadow around the curly Q fancy schmancy silverware decorations.

Ok here is what I wanted you to read.

DSCN8453 copy Please tell me you see what I see.

It says Hi

Hee! Hee! Wait… just Hi, but heck I could have done Hee! Hee!  Just think of all the words you can do. Well of course they have to be straight words, I think an "O" would be hard to do.  Unless you are a magician and you can bend the silverware….ha!

Anyway, here is the full card, so you can bask in it's beauty, and think "does she ever sleep?" "how does she come up with these ideas?" "Do I need some sort of tetanus shot when I attend one of her classes?" Ha!

DSCN8452 copy Stamp Set: Compliments to the Chef
Paper: Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, White Confetti, Nouveau Chic DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Sage Shadow, Going Gray
Misc: Basic Gray Tafetta, Nestabilities Circle and Scallops, Sansodor, Stump, Watercolor pencil, scallop border punch

So anyway, just in case you are still trying to figure it out…sorry.  It is a plate and then a charger I think they call them, the fancy plate that goes under the regular plate, and then the silverware as an "H" and an "i".

I thought it was neat.

I am so loving all your comments and likes and dislikes of the two cards yesterday, remember I will pick a winner at 7pm AZ time to win the two wooden chair cards.  I think I might do that other times, it has been fun.

Well that's it for me. I hope you have a great Thursday.  Can you believe they are talking that the temps in AZ on the weekend might reach 115 degrees…OMG!!!!!!!!! I don't want to hear "but it's a dry heat!" it's HOT!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

What a great idea! Some people stay up all night thinking up ideas, and to some it seems to come natural. I believe you just have all the ideas flow right on in, 'cause you always have something unique. Who woulda' thought to spell words with silverware. I love it. Love coming to your blog every day to see what's new and interesting. Sorry about the heat, but stay inside, don't melt.

I love, love, love your place setting!!! Very nice card. Can I win this?!?!? A girl can ask, right?!?!?

I hope you don't get mummified today. I'll take 90 degrees w/100% humidity any day over dry heat. I was in Death Valley quite a few years ago and thought I would die. I felt like I couldn't breathe.

This is darned cute! I loved the set but didn't see letters; in fact, I was seriously studying the scroll work in the silverware looking for letters. The card is fantastic and it puts the set into proportion seeing it. Thanks for sharing. Mary Jo

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
