I love fun mail days…you know the ones, you get no bills, and instead you get a fun RAK from a sweet blog friend.
Look what I got in the mail the other day from Karen Thede from Vista, California.
This was her first effort at coloring with the Sansodor Solvent, and she did an awesome job, and the card is adorable. Thank you so much Karen, I love it!
Grrreat Card from Karen Thede: Stamp Set: Under the Stars
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Walk in the Park DSP
Ink: Basic Black
Misc: (Karen said she used the Wonderful Watercolor crayons), sansodor, stumps, cuttlebug folder, circle scallop die, rectangle die
– I am guessing a bit, so Karen, if I boo-booed, just holler and I can fix it…see above where I corrected..thanks Karen!
So if the front is not adorable enough, look what happens when you open it up…
…this is opening it up. There are all these layers with a different pop-up on each one.
The first one is the compass, its like the arrow is pointing to tell you to keep going as you flip through the card.
The next one is that rascally raccoon. I can not look at a raccoon and not think of the movie the Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd, they were such a great comedy team.
The last one is the mosquito dive bombing the s'more, and oh my gosh the way Karen colored the marshmallow it looks good enough to eat. It's all toasted with just a tiny bit of burned part, I can almost taste it…makes me want to toast a marshmallow right now. Of course all I have in the house that is close to having a marshmallow is rice krispie treats, I don't think that'll work.
Thank you so much Karen for sending me such a cute card. Right to my sample basket it is going so everyone else can enjoy it as much as me!
Diana! Imagine my surprise when I went to your Blog tonight and saw my card! 🙂 I feel so honored you shared that. You got it all right – except that I used the Wonder Crayons from Stampin'UP instead of the Water color pencils this time. Thanks again for showing and sharing my card. I love following your blog and ideas. I especially like the tip with jar lids, as I just had an accident tipping over my
Sansador solvent earlier tonight! Great idea…
That card is awesome!!
What a great RAK!
Great card! Maybe someone (hint, hint) will teach us to layer like that. Thanks for sharing. Mary Jo
