2 Cards

This 'n' That

Added: a winner has already been chosen, thanks for playing!

Come on…you can't tell me you didn't look through the new Stampin' Up! catalog and get to page 103 and think "I bet that Diana chick orders that Peace Within set"…and you my dear would be correct-a-mundo.  I think when my BFF Tracy and I were looking at the catalog. Hey I can show you that picture now…when we took it we were so excited, and then Tracy was like oh I don't think we can show the catalog, and I was like oh yeah.
DSCN8216 copy Here we are loving every minute of it. I may have peed a little when I saw this set.  I mean it has a wooden chair (I am not even gonna try to spell it), plants, pots, wicker basket, I swear it should have been called Diana's set.

DSCN8217 copy Oh here is Eric and Tracy enjoying the catalog.
Doesn't he look excited? Ha!  He still enjoys opening up the boxes when they come and he will unpack them (if he is home) and get everything laid out on the table for me.

When I first became a Demonstrator 10 years ago I just signed up for the discount, so I was buying lots, then I started to get a few customers here and there.

Eric would see the pile of stuff and ask if it was mine, and I would be like oh no this is for people's orders (as I would point to the small pile), and this over here would be mine (the big pile).

Ok back to the stamp set.  So today I spent most of the day mounting sets (well and calling cable people) We are switching to Direct TV, I have had it with my cable company, I will keep them only for internet, and if there is ever a reasonable reliable internet service that gets their butts out to Queen Creek where we can switch, I'll get rid of them for the internet too.

Oh my gosh so I have got off the topic again. Tracy calls that flittering.  I call it Adult ADHD. Ok for real, the stamp set.  So tonight I sat and colored and played and came up with two cards.  The layout is basically the same.  The colors, and DSP are different and so is the ribbon.  I want your opinion on which one you like best.  I know the one I like best.

So I want you to comment, on which one you like best and why, and maybe tell me why you don't like the other one.  Then Thursday night at 7pm AZ time I will pick a random name and send you both cards. Sound like fun? It isn't super high falooten' candy, but hey it's a couple free cards!

Please only leave one comment…thanks!!!

OK here are the cards, in no particular order. Do I say that for just two cards? Who knows…

DSCN8448 copy Card One

Stamp Set: Peace Within

Ink: Jetblack Stazon

Paper: White Confetti, Basic Black, Pink Flamingo DSP

Misc: Red Striped Wide grosgrain, Sansodor, stumps, watercolor pencils, prismacolor pencils

and…

…here is the other choice.

DSCN8450 copy Card Two

Stamp Set: Peace Within

Ink: Jetblack Stazon

Paper: White confetti, Elegant Eggplant, Autumn Traditions DSP

Misc: White gel pen, white tafetta, aqua painter, watercolor crayons (oh my gosh it felt good to dust those babies off again)

OK, so there ya go.  Let me know what you think, and gosh be honest, it aint gonna hurt my feelings none.
I'll pick a winner Thursday night 7pm AZ time.  Make sure to comment, on this post, underneath in the comment area.  Please don't comment over to the left on the question thingie cause that won't count.

Have fun, and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

hi diana…my thoughts on the cards…i like the first one. the pink flamingo paper (even though it looks red) looks fantastic with the red chair feels relaxing to me. it's like it's telling me to sit down and relax…take a load off and enjoy the flowers around you. the other card on the other hand, feels noisy to me…i don't know whether to look at the flowers on the dsp or the flowers next to the chair. continue the great work!!

I like the second better because the color of the chair but I think it would look good with a background same color as the flowers.

Hi Diana!! I like them both, but I like the second one better. It just seems more relaxed, and that is what I want to do in that chair–relax!! I like the ribbon better on the second one too…the first one the bow seems too big~bulky for the area it has. I have that set tagged too in my catalog!! I'm jealous you got it already! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the 2nd one!! I just love that DSP with the purple leaves, I fell in love with it the second I saw it in the catty.. I also like the adirondack chair better purple. I think the first one is a little too red on red, and you almost loose the impact of the stamp set.

ok,I like certain things about both and certain things I would change in both…lol. First, I love the red chair, but the red background is too much red…it just doesn't pop.
So, the 2nd one is my favorite. It is so much more relaxing looking, but, the white ribbon makes it look a little too light for me…..maybe elegant eggplant ribbon would accent it a little more??? Needs something to break up all the white and light colors in the background. I think they are both very pretty, though!!
Been trying to talk myself out of that stamp set…..now I think I am wanting it even more….thanks…lol

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I like the 2nd one better although red is my favorite color and do not like lavendar! It is just so much more relaxing than the red. Of course, the best part of the card is the cat and he looks better in the second chair.

What a beautiful image. It reminds me of years ago when my father built some adirondack chairs.

I would have to say I like the second card better because of the softness of the paper. Though, I like the use of one ribbon better on the first card.

Well lets see….I like them both but since you're asking for which one I like best I'm choosing #2! Why? I like the purple and the difference in the color variations and the 3 ribbons (great idea!). The other one is nice and it's hard to say why I didn't like it better! The color hues are the same perhaps?! Between the chair and the paper – matching too much perhaps?! Then again I just love purple! Great set though!

Diana – I'm not sure why but I like the second one the best – but honestly I had to study them to choose- I think it's just cuz it's different – the colors are so like shabby chic or something…..kind of have a washed out look in a positive way….like you meant to do that…..and I love it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And yes, I thought of you and me and Cindy when I saw this set and thought, 3 happy people!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Can't wait to see you at Convention, NOW, PICK ME FOR THE FREE CARDS, OKAY?

I absolutely luv em both! After scrolling up several times to review, I'd have to chose card #2. It was a difficult choice though. The way that you've done the shading on the chair just beakons me to sit on it! It's so peaceful looking. I have 3 chairs like this in my back yard and they get used many times during the day. Guess what set I'm ordering next!?

Oh I'm enjoying reading all these comments! Fun to see how many said the second one seems more relaxing, because that's exactly what I thought. I'm NOT picking a favorite but I'm going to try and pick which one "YOU" like better. and I'm gonna say the second one. Why because… I think you're gonna say you like your watercoloring better in that one, and another hint that tells me that one! You used your White Gel Pen on it, and to me that's a Diana Trade Mark! A card is NOT done till "You" put a "Bit'O White Gel Pen" on it somewhere. I hope I'm "Spot On" and and don't look like a Fraud BFF.

The second card just seems lighter, opener, more calming . . . makes me want to curl up with that kitty and have a little cat nap myself! Besides I am a sucker for autumn colors and anything with leaves!

The first one, no, the second one, no, the first one. Oh gosh, how am I supposed to decide. At first I really liked the first one since the chair looks like redwood and the colors just really pop. Then I started liking the second one because the chair looks like it's been sitting on the porch of a beach house getting weathered by the sand and sea and salt. But that idea doesn't work with the background paper with the leaves. So… I am back to the first one. The whole card just works. Makes me think of redwood and being up at a cabin in the mountains or something. I love that set too and am very tempted to get it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I like card #2! It looks so pretty & feminine. The 3 ribbons are such a neat touch. #1 is a bit too busy, or should I say "heavy looking" with the dark red of the paper & ribbon as well as the colors in the picture. Don't get me wrong… they are both pretty, but I like the lighter one best (probably because it's 102 in the shade here & anything light makes me feel cooler!!!)
