Come on…you can't tell me you didn't look through the new Stampin' Up! catalog and get to page 103 and think "I bet that Diana chick orders that Peace Within set"…and you my dear would be correct-a-mundo. I think when my BFF Tracy and I were looking at the catalog. Hey I can show you that picture now…when we took it we were so excited, and then Tracy was like oh I don't think we can show the catalog, and I was like oh yeah.
Here we are loving every minute of it. I may have peed a little when I saw this set. I mean it has a wooden chair (I am not even gonna try to spell it), plants, pots, wicker basket, I swear it should have been called Diana's set.
Oh here is Eric and Tracy enjoying the catalog.
Doesn't he look excited? Ha! He still enjoys opening up the boxes when they come and he will unpack them (if he is home) and get everything laid out on the table for me.
When I first became a Demonstrator 10 years ago I just signed up for the discount, so I was buying lots, then I started to get a few customers here and there.
Eric would see the pile of stuff and ask if it was mine, and I would be like oh no this is for people's orders (as I would point to the small pile), and this over here would be mine (the big pile).
Ok back to the stamp set. So today I spent most of the day mounting sets (well and calling cable people) We are switching to Direct TV, I have had it with my cable company, I will keep them only for internet, and if there is ever a reasonable reliable internet service that gets their butts out to Queen Creek where we can switch, I'll get rid of them for the internet too.
Oh my gosh so I have got off the topic again. Tracy calls that flittering. I call it Adult ADHD. Ok for real, the stamp set. So tonight I sat and colored and played and came up with two cards. The layout is basically the same. The colors, and DSP are different and so is the ribbon. I want your opinion on which one you like best. I know the one I like best.
So I want you to comment, on which one you like best and why, and maybe tell me why you don't like the other one. Then Thursday night at 7pm AZ time I will pick a random name and send you both cards. Sound like fun? It isn't super high falooten' candy, but hey it's a couple free cards!
Please only leave one comment…thanks!!!
OK here are the cards, in no particular order. Do I say that for just two cards? Who knows…
Stamp Set: Peace Within
Ink: Jetblack Stazon
Paper: White Confetti, Basic Black, Pink Flamingo DSP
Misc: Red Striped Wide grosgrain, Sansodor, stumps, watercolor pencils, prismacolor pencils
…here is the other choice.
Stamp Set: Peace Within
Ink: Jetblack Stazon
Paper: White confetti, Elegant Eggplant, Autumn Traditions DSP
Misc: White gel pen, white tafetta, aqua painter, watercolor crayons (oh my gosh it felt good to dust those babies off again)
OK, so there ya go. Let me know what you think, and gosh be honest, it aint gonna hurt my feelings none.
I'll pick a winner Thursday night 7pm AZ time. Make sure to comment, on this post, underneath in the comment area. Please don't comment over to the left on the question thingie cause that won't count.
Have fun, and thanks for stopping in!

hi diana…my thoughts on the cards…i like the first one. the pink flamingo paper (even though it looks red) looks fantastic with the red chair feels relaxing to me. it's like it's telling me to sit down and relax…take a load off and enjoy the flowers around you. the other card on the other hand, feels noisy to me…i don't know whether to look at the flowers on the dsp or the flowers next to the chair. continue the great work!!
Candy Heathman says
I like the second better because the color of the chair but I think it would look good with a background same color as the flowers.
Mary Sabel says
I like them both but the first one is my favorite and that is because I love the pink flamingo paper and I am crazy about red.
Hi Diana!! I like them both, but I like the second one better. It just seems more relaxed, and that is what I want to do in that chair–relax!! I like the ribbon better on the second one too…the first one the bow seems too big~bulky for the area it has. I have that set tagged too in my catalog!! I'm jealous you got it already! 🙂
I love the 2nd one!! I just love that DSP with the purple leaves, I fell in love with it the second I saw it in the catty.. I also like the adirondack chair better purple. I think the first one is a little too red on red, and you almost loose the impact of the stamp set.
Sharon Brown says
ok,I like certain things about both and certain things I would change in both…lol. First, I love the red chair, but the red background is too much red…it just doesn't pop.
So, the 2nd one is my favorite. It is so much more relaxing looking, but, the white ribbon makes it look a little too light for me…..maybe elegant eggplant ribbon would accent it a little more??? Needs something to break up all the white and light colors in the background. I think they are both very pretty, though!!
Been trying to talk myself out of that stamp set…..now I think I am wanting it even more….thanks…lol
Barbara Pirk says
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I like the 2nd one better although red is my favorite color and do not like lavendar! It is just so much more relaxing than the red. Of course, the best part of the card is the cat and he looks better in the second chair.
Hi, Di! I love that stamp set, too! In fact, I ordered it just yesterday. :^) Both cards are cool, but my favorite is the first one. And that is because I love bold colors! The first one really grabs my attention–love it!
What a beautiful image. It reminds me of years ago when my father built some adirondack chairs.
I would have to say I like the second card better because of the softness of the paper. Though, I like the use of one ribbon better on the first card.
Michelle H says
Well lets see….I like them both but since you're asking for which one I like best I'm choosing #2! Why? I like the purple and the difference in the color variations and the 3 ribbons (great idea!). The other one is nice and it's hard to say why I didn't like it better! The color hues are the same perhaps?! Between the chair and the paper – matching too much perhaps?! Then again I just love purple! Great set though!
Jacqui Lines says
Wow – it's hard to choose. But purple is my favourite colour so I am gonna have to go with the second one. As soon as I saw that stamp set I knew you would get it!
Funny…Mum ordered it too!
Can't wait to see what you come up with for all the other new sets you got!
KAREN BARBER says
Diana – I'm not sure why but I like the second one the best – but honestly I had to study them to choose- I think it's just cuz it's different – the colors are so like shabby chic or something…..kind of have a washed out look in a positive way….like you meant to do that…..and I love it. 😉 And yes, I thought of you and me and Cindy when I saw this set and thought, 3 happy people!! 🙂 Can't wait to see you at Convention, NOW, PICK ME FOR THE FREE CARDS, OKAY?
Melanie Turnbach says
Both cards are beautiful, however I like the second one best. I like the way you did the ribbon better on the second one!
Sharon O'Gorman says
Ya knew that we would love em both didn't ya?
But if I must choose.I like the three ribbons on #2 and I love the colors…the whole card makes me feel relaxed BUT #1 says WAKE UP…WOW…IT"S ME. So I guess overall, I would pick #1 (but maybe with three ribbons)
No sure if that really is an answer or not HA !
Great job gal!…Sharon
janet mack says
Hi, I did stop at this page and say I need this stamp, I just love cats. I love both cards but I think the first one made the image stand out more
janet risch says
My favourite is the first one. I think it is the DSP that made my decision, the colouring on both cards is great. I am not too fussy on the second DSP.
I think all of your creations are great though. I check your blog daily…seriously!!!!! It is like having morning coffee, I just have to do it!!!
Rachel Bergman says
My favorite color is red, but I have to say that the second card is my favorite. You do beautiful work.
I think I'm in the minority but, I love the first one. The color just pops out and grabs me.
Robin Sobliros says
I love them both, but if I have to choose I would say #2. It is more relaxing to me. I do love the bold colors on the first one. But again at this time I really like the first one. Thank you for sharing!
Wanda Newman says
I really like the first one – I think the red DS paper really makes the image pop. But anything you do is always great! Thanks for sharing your blog with me!
The soft coloring on the second card makes that the one for me. It is such a calming look, just peaceful and relaxing.
I love the red one….we have to chairs just like that on our front porch and they are stained with cedar color. Everyone that sits in those chairs dont want to get up, very comfortable. I'm really not a big fan of purple either….LOL
I have to say the second one I love cats and the poor kitty is totally lost on the first card. In the second one my eye goes directly to the cute leetle puttie tat. 🙂 I have that set too………..my favorite in the new catty!
I absolutely luv em both! After scrolling up several times to review, I'd have to chose card #2. It was a difficult choice though. The way that you've done the shading on the chair just beakons me to sit on it! It's so peaceful looking. I have 3 chairs like this in my back yard and they get used many times during the day. Guess what set I'm ordering next!?
Tracy Altemose says
Oh I'm enjoying reading all these comments! Fun to see how many said the second one seems more relaxing, because that's exactly what I thought. I'm NOT picking a favorite but I'm going to try and pick which one "YOU" like better. and I'm gonna say the second one. Why because… I think you're gonna say you like your watercoloring better in that one, and another hint that tells me that one! You used your White Gel Pen on it, and to me that's a Diana Trade Mark! A card is NOT done till "You" put a "Bit'O White Gel Pen" on it somewhere. I hope I'm "Spot On" and and don't look like a Fraud BFF.
Love Ya Tuuts
Da BFF (or is she a Fraud)
Both cards are scrumptious babe! Love the Adirondack Chairs………….
I'm not going to try to get inside your head and pick which is you favorite LOL
For me, I really love the first one more……I think the DSP in the second one is a bit too overpowering (for my tastes). But they are both very pretty!
We changed from cable to Direct TV for the same reason…..got totally fed up with the cable company here. We love the Direct TV!
Juliana Bibas says
I really like the red one, but then I've always been a sucker for red tones!
They're both beautiful cards, though and thanks for sharing!
Lorree Bosworth says
Hey Diana! As always I think I love everything you do, but I have to go with the second card as my fave between these two. The second card just seems lighter, opener, more calming . . . makes me want to curl up with that kitty and have a little cat nap myself! Besides I am a sucker for autumn colors and anything with leaves!
mary jo says
They are both excellent cards but #1 would get my vote today. The colors say summer, come sit and enjoy the beauty of it. The colors say WOW! Thanks for sharing. Mary Jo
michelle jadaa says
I card two,i like the balance use of colours it has without being too matchy.
Both are very cute, but my fav is the first one, something about the red… loving the cat is just so real just like my misty (my cat). LOL
Shana Heeg says
The first one, no, the second one, no, the first one. Oh gosh, how am I supposed to decide. At first I really liked the first one since the chair looks like redwood and the colors just really pop. Then I started liking the second one because the chair looks like it's been sitting on the porch of a beach house getting weathered by the sand and sea and salt. But that idea doesn't work with the background paper with the leaves. So… I am back to the first one. The whole card just works. Makes me think of redwood and being up at a cabin in the mountains or something. I love that set too and am very tempted to get it. 🙂
At first I was very much drawn to the first one, but the more I went back and forth looking at them, I think I've changed to the second one. Maybe it's the coloring on the chair that did it for me. But I really like them both! 🙂
Ruth Fox says
Liked both of the cards, thought I would vote for the second one since I am a purple lover. But for me the lst card just keeps popping out. So 2nd card.
Wilma Cole says
I like both of them. Thanks, Diana, for being so diligent to daily post such good ideas. I also LOVE your humor. Keep it up girl.
What's not to like. They are both wonderful.
Sue C says
I want that stamp set! Being a "red" girl I love the red and black combo on the first card. But then again, the fall leaves and the purple chair look so tranquil. Oh heck, both cards are absolutely terrific. Thank you for sharing your cards!
Kerney Whitman says
I like the image and ribbon on #2, but the DSP of #1. The first one is too much red for me, but the subtle coloring of #2 needed a bolder DSP…IMO!
You are going to love DirecTV…we have it (had cable, then Dish Network) and it's great. You'll wonder why you waited!! Love your blog, I don't always comment but I read every time you post!
OMG Diana I luv both! But since you want me to choose then I have to say that card 2 is my fav…I luv the softness of the colors & DP is gorgeous!!! Fantastic coloring on both cards!
Peggy Maier says
I like card #2! It looks so pretty & feminine. The 3 ribbons are such a neat touch. #1 is a bit too busy, or should I say "heavy looking" with the dark red of the paper & ribbon as well as the colors in the picture. Don't get me wrong… they are both pretty, but I like the lighter one best (probably because it's 102 in the shade here & anything light makes me feel cooler!!!)
Of course I think both cards are totally awesome, but I really love that Pink Flamingo paper so I gotta go with that one, at least till my order gets here with the other dp and I fall in love with it. ~chris
I go with card number 2 because the color combo just seems so soothing to me, very peaceful.
By the way I am loving the deal of the week!!! I just received my scallop punch (and one for my BFF). YEAH!
Fab cards, but I must admit that the second one is the most beautiful one to me! I love the leaves on the paper and the colours. I has a soothing feel to it. The red one looks like it's "missing something" to me; I'm not fond of the red DSP.
Just MHO. 🙂
PS> I love your "flittering"!!! So like me! 🙂
wanda box says
WOW! First let me say I love your blog. My choice would be card #2 the soft colors, awesome DSP and trio ribbons. I think the 1st card is great but my favorite would have to be the 2nd card.
Oh yes, that set is adorable and it screams "DIAAAAANNNNNNAAAAAA!!!" LOL, sorry about that. Well, I think I like the second one better. The only reason would be that those colors speak to me a little more than the red card's colors.
Both cards are beautiful but I like the second card more. The DSP on the second card is gorgeous.
Hi Diana, I love both cards, but if I had to choose… I choose card #2, it looks very soothing and relaxing!! Have a good day! Debra
Penny P says
Both very beautiful but since red is my fav color I'd have to say the first one. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂
I love that stamp set too… I choose the purple one as it seems more "summery"! 🙂
