Yabba-Dabba-Doo!

This 'n' That

20 Jun

Jeff got his card done a day early, and I said "can I post it for Saturday" and he said "sure".

So here it is, I love it.  He is going to send it to his Dad.

DSCN8349 copy Stamp Set: None

Ink: None

Paper: Creamy Caramel, Basic Black

Misc: Mesquite wood, some sort of metal wire, rusted metal piece, faux nails

This is 6 pieces of wood he cut, sanded and did whatever else needed to be done, and then he glued them together.

So instead of using "card"stock, would this be called "Wood"stock?

DSCN8353 copy Here is the inside of the card, he made up the saying all by himself. Here you can see the 3 pieces of wood better for each side of the card.

Notice that Jeff doesn't need the "Bind it All" machine, he did it all himself.

When Jeff brought his masterpiece in to show me, I was not expecting this, I mean I don't know what I was expecting, but this is so awesome.

When I was reading it and checking it all out I said "Do you know what this card reminds me of?" and he said "no", and I said "listen to my mind, pretend we live…", and then he said "The Flinstones!" and I said "YES!!!!!"  We are so intuned the two of us.

So I am gonna post Saturday now, so I can finish setting up for my class tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday, I think this will be our last cool Saturday for quite a while, when I say cool I mean under 100 degrees!

Thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

Jeff…You are sooooo talented! That card is awesome. My Dad is a retired home builder/ finishing carpenter and if it's OK with you I like to use your idea for his Father's Day card.

Jeff – this card kicks ASS!!!!!! I love it. The saying is great. It is totally your dad. He is going to love it too. If he's gonna be around when you give it to him, please take a picture of him when he opens it up! I want to see the expression on his face! If you are mailing it….you might want to make another huge THANK you card for your mailman!!!! It might add a bit more weight to his bag that day!
Great job!!! Diana keep him hidden…..the stamping/crafting companies will be trying to recruit him soon!
    Love ya both

This is a fantastic card and I am amazed at the creativity! I just love it because it is "different". You make a very talented couple! Thanks for reminding me that a card doesn't have to be out of the expected stuff and something like this is totally unexpected and awesome!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
