You Float My Boat

This 'n' That

24 May

This is one of the cards that everyone will be making at my Technique Lover's Club (TLC) class. This is the Sansodor w/watercolor pencils technique.  I love this set, and this technique is perfect for it.

DSCN8091 copy Stamp Set: Boatloads of Love

Paper: So Saffron, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Walk in the Park Designer Series paper

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Bashful Blue

Misc: White brads, Scallop border punch, Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon, scallop circle punch to use as a cloud stencil, watercolor pencils, sansodor, stumps, white gel pen

So today is the second day to answer a question to have your name put in to win my Mystery Blog Candy on the 28th.  Today's question is: What is your favorite Stampin' Up! stamp set of all time, this can be a retired set or a current set. My answer is Stella Stamper.

Make sure you answer the question down underneath this post in the comment section. If you don't see the comment section, then right under this post will be a word that says comment. Click on that and it will open up for you. A few of you answered over in the little box to the left, that is what you want to use if you have a question, or if I want to answer something in a comment….I know details, details…ha!

You will be happy to know that I got Eric's sandwich ordered for his graduation party.  Jeff was telling me I had to give 2 weeks notice.  So I was freaking since it is a week away…so I called and they need 24 hours notice…I freaked for nothing.

My sister is saying what she is thankful for on her blog. I am thankful that the hairs on my chin are now coming in gray, they are less noticeable then the dark ones, so if I don't pluck them fast enough it is harder for people to see them. I am such a Pollyanna. ha!

Have a great Sunday, and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

    Hi Diana!!
My all time favorite set would have to be Fantastic Foliage from 1998!! Time after time that gets pulled out and even if it is just as an accent I find some place for those leaves or needles on a card. Especially the masculine cards or Christmas cards with the pine needles. I have so many other favorites it is hard to choose, but based on overall usage, Fantastic Foliage wins! Hope everyone is having a great Holiday weekend!

Hi, Di! Well, I haven't been an SU stamper for very long, so my favorite set is pretty current! :^) I really love so many of them, but I find the Branch Out set can be used in so many ways. So I guess that is my favorite set this week. :^)

How do you choose one?? I have only been stamping for 2 years, so that is a pretty limited time given all the beautiful stamps SU has produced. So, I would have to say that "Loads of Love" is the best!! That cute pick up truck has pleased anyone that has received her!! It truly has been a great stamp set!

My favorite set is "Happy Winter" one of the smallest and probably dopiest little sets, but I find it endearing, charming, reminds me of when I was a child and most importantly, never fails to make me smile.

Ack! I can't remember the name of my favorite set. Interestingly it is a sympathy set that has been retired for some time but it has just the perfect sentiments for making sympathy cards.

    I just remembered…Close as a Memory. Whew!

Hmmm… best most favorite-est?! well, there was this Christmas set a few years back. It was Santa in swim trunks, a palm tree with lights, and a few beachy bits. No idea what it's called but I love that one. It don't use it often (seasonal and all). The one I go to most often, regardless of the reason for stamping is my diamond-patterned background stamp.

I am thankful there are so many wonderful creators that share their creations online so we can all be inspired. 🙂

Without a doubt, HAPPY CAMPER!!! is my fave. We go camping in Yosemite every year (twice a year when we can manage it) and the trip is never complete until we see a bear. This stamp set is so-o-o-o great for masculine cards in addition to all the scrapbooking applications for our family. I'm learning to love the Under the Stars set but still not nearly as well as HC. I think the UtS bear looks a bit crazed maybe due to that smarmy grin. IDEA! I need to try stampin' him without the grin and see if I like him better that way.

You are killin' me, Diana! I love, love, LOVE your technique class but just can't quite justify (or find the time for) the nine hour drive (one way) to join in. I am certain it will be a blast!

    Hugs,
    Lorree

My comments ended up in the wrong spot (computer glitch!) My favorite is Heavenly Days because it was a surprise freebie. My workshop was over $400 and in 2000 there was an extra stamp set for hostesses if your party was over $400. I saw the set in the box and was jealous of whomever had ordred it. My demo told me it was mine and it was free!
