Remembering the Good Times

This 'n' That

3 May

So while I was home, I wanted to go to our old house at Andy and Marion’s…you know the pics of us growing up and we always took us standing in the corner, my sister had tons on her blog on my birthday…most kids when told to go to the corner knew they were in trouble, for us it was “Yeah picture time” Ha!  Well we were gonna call and of course we didn’t so when we got there no one was home.  So I said well we will take pictures on the porch and my sister was like that is trespassing, and I was like all we are doing is sitting on the porch, I said I will leave a note…and I did…so now my dear reader friends, please do not take a drink of coffee, coca cola, or even water before looking at the following photo, I will not be held responsible for any damage that occurs when you spew all over your keyboard…in this instance, I am looking better with age…I am not sure when the inevitable turn happens and I start looking worse, but Granny still looks awesome at 90 so I hope I have her genes in that department…I sure got her wackiness.

Diana_at_Andy_and_Marions copy I am not sure the date of this picture…but its a longgggggggg time ago. Jacqui sent it to me…seems she has a lot of old pictures of myself and I am not sure what she needs them all for, I am expecting for some sort of black mail down the road…ha!

Look at that face…I don’t think I had braces here, but I think this was my first pair of glasses, what a geek.

Now of course, I hate myself without glasses, cause I don’t look like myself with them off.

I even got contacts for Hawaii for the snorkeling and beach day, and bought cheap sunglasses to wear, and they were so tight, they killed me by the end of the day, my big fat head.

And then this is the picture taken just the other day.  I thought I was sitting right but the angle is wrong, but it is so funny it looks so much the same…the porch…not me!  It was raining a lot, but it let up when we went to Poppa’s grave to say hi, and it let up here. Poppa knows we are made of sugar and we will melt, so he stopped the rain while we were outside…thanks Poppa…I love you.

So there I sit, in all my trespassing glory. We did peek in the door and the corner is gone, they have removed a wall and made the room bigger…now was that bad, to look in the window? I hope not, I loved this house and it brought back such great memories.

While I was at Victopia and Jacqui’s we stamped so many images, everyone brought this and that, I swear I have images till forever.  We even stopped at Stamping Bella in Toronto and picked up a few stamps, and even a brand new one that was not even out yet. I will show you later.

I do want to show you another fun card using one of the new Our Craft Lounge sets.  It is hilarious.  It is called The Tribe and I fell in love with it as soon as I seen it. Make sure you check out the blog hop to find out who is giving this set away.

Stamp Set: The Tribe

Paper: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Neenah, background paper I picked up at Sheila’s store, where I got to meet Sheila (Hi), but missed meeting Andrea (waving Hi!).

Ink: Copics, white craft pad

Misc: Nestabilities, glaze pen to add to the skull, white gel pen, Cuttlebug folder

DSCN7814 copy So just cause this fine young lady lives in the bush and carries a skull on a stick doesn’t mean she has to be all nasty, I added some lovely red lipstick to her lips and she just had a french pedicure done…aint she sexy?

Well that’s all for me for now folks. Don’t forget to be commenting on my Our Craft Lounge Blog Hop post. I will be picking my winner Monday the 4th at Noon AZ time, and you could win the Granny’s Secrets set.

Check back tomorrow, I got some fun new sneak peeks of the Hanna Stamps! sets for you. I was a coloring fool while I was at Victopia, I just gotta make em into cards.

Have a super Sunday and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

I'm so glad you had a great time with your sisters. I think it is cool that you got to see your old house. I do that to sometimes when I go back to my (early)childhood home. Love the card you posted today! How fun! Can't wait to see more.

yeah the angle was wrong – oh well! You can still tell it's the same porch. You'll have to come home again so we can call ahead to all the people who own property we are going to trespass on!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
