Cowabunga!

We had a great day today. Eric went to a movie with Sara, the lady that works with him. Dad Gibbs, Jeff and I did errands and picked up stuff for Eric's graduation party.

We got back home, set everything up, and Eric got home right before everyone arrived.  It was so nice seeing everyone.  Eric opened his gifts, and we all filled our faces, and visited a bit.

Tonight we went over to the neighbors and played a game, for the life of me I can not remember what it was called, but it is like a machine you hand around and you have to have your team mates guess it, and it is on a timer, it was so much fun.

So it is almost 1am, and I am like oh my gosh I got to get my post up, so it will be quick.

A quick reminder, that today is the last day to order 3 Designer Series paper, and get 1 free.  Holler if you need any, or you can also order through my website too.  It is also the last day to sign up to become a Demonstrator for $75.00.  If you are interested, let me know.  This too can be done through my website, but you have to use the code QCAZ85240 to get in.  Also last thing before I show you a cute card.  I will be ordering the new catalogs on June 10th, if you want a catalog, let me know.  If you want to pick it up, it's free, if you want it mailed, it will be $6.00 to cover postage and handling.  Let me know by the 10th ok.

Ok off to a cute card, good thing I made two Kona cards the other day.

DSCN8204 copy Stamp Set: Hangin' with Kona

Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Taken With Teal, Whisper White, not sure who the background paper is

Ink: Memento, Copics

Misc: nestabilities, beer bottle top squished with Big Shot (you have to use a brand new one), white gel pen

I didn't do a lot with the card, cause to me the paper looks like it has a big wave on the left, so I didn't want to cover it up with ribbon or anything.

Well this old girl has to hit the hay, I have my class to figure out tomorrow, so I can get my order in on Monday.

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!

Our Grad

Hard to believe our little boy has graduated.  He really graduated a few months back when he had all the credits he needed and has been working ever since.  Eric has learning disabilities, so we were so lucky when the school helped us find him a job.

Eric for grad001 It seems like he went from this...

Eric outside closeup ..to this, in a blink of an eye.

We took a few pictures before we left for the ceremony.  This is out in the front yard, under the mesquite trees, I love this picture of him. I knew that it would be hard to get good pictures of him during graduation, my camera only zooms so far.  I had never been to a highschool graduation before (I was working and not able to go to mine), so I was pretty impressed.

It was so sad when the two students that passed away this year their parents accepted their diploma's, that is when I started to cry, I can not even imagine losing a child, at any age, and one just starting his adult life, it was so sad.

I also cried a bit afterwards, it seems after the ceremony is over and the kids have thrown their hats, we go out on the football field, and I was like "what? why?", and Jeff says "we just do", so off we go, he grabs my hand, and we start looking for Eric amongst all these hundreds of kids and their families doing the same.  I saw a few kids that Eric graduated with, and we kept looking and looking, and then finally Jeff said "hey there he is", and just seeing him standing there holding his cap, all dressed up, he is such a handsome man, and it makes me sad to think of the what if's...what if Eric was a regular kid with no disabilities? would he have a steady girlfriend? would he be going to college? what if Eric was moving out about now? what if, what if, I mean I am sure we all do it, no matter what age our kids are, and whether they have a disability or not.  Sometimes I get mad, cause of the hard times Eric will have as we get older, and when we are gone.  But I also am so very thankful and I thank God every day, because Eric is considered one of the high functioning at work as he was in school.  There are many more young people that have it harder then Eric, and we are blessed he is generally a good kid...heck he has his moods, but don't we all?  I sure do, and to be honest those are usually when Eric seems worse cause my patience and Eric's are about the same...very slim at times.  Jeff is the best, cause he just goes with the flow and takes it all in stride.  God knew what he was doing when he put us all together, us 3 make a complete, not perfect, but a very lucky family indeed.

Wow, listen to me blabber, this was to be a happy post, and it is, sorry about that...let me get back on track...

Eric gown closeup Here is Eric in his cap and gown, I have never seen him stand taller then when he had this on...he had "the strut" going on, and he totally (I think) was the best dressed out there, he followed the rules, they were told what to wear and what not to wear, and we were suprised to see some of the clothing under the robes.

DSCN8193 Here he is getting his diploma, see how far away it was?  I am hoping that the picture that the school photographer took will be a good one. They are to be on-line sometime, but they were not up yet.

DSCN8201 Here they are throwing their caps in the air, Jeff said the kids went over and formed FHS on the grass first. You could not tell from the stands.

It was so funny, when we found Eric he had his cap and he put it on and said "what do you think? is it mine?" cause we told him to take the tassel off before he threw his hat.  I do believe this cap is more snugger then the one he went with, but we figured he won't wear it again...well maybe when we dress him up again, so we can get OUR picture taken with him. Can you believe it, we didn't even get our picture taken with him. I mean we didnt' have anyone to do it, but I could have propped the camera up on something. Dad Gibbs' called a few hours ago and he was surprising Eric by coming to his graduation party, he got here a little bit ago, and Eric was like so surprised, and Grandpa said "hey Eric, will you do something for me?" and Eric said "yes" and Grandpa said "will you shave for me?" and I'll be darned if he didn't, now of course the pics won't be the same cause he is clean shaven...ha!  He'll do anything for Grandpa.

DSCN8202 Here is Eric with one of the football coaches.

Well I am getting off here, we gotta get up early in the morning to get ready for the party.

Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

Happy Birthday Joy!

About a week or so ago my friend Cami emailed and asked if I would like to join the on-line surprise birthday party for Joy from Eclectic Paperie, they are great friends, and I can see why.  I said sure, I met both Cami and Joy for the first time at CHA, and I love them dearly. So the famous Marianne Walker  drew these little guys I guess at CHA, on a napkin, if I remember correctly from what Cami said on her blog, and boy oh boy are they cute.  This set is available today and it is exclusive at Eclectic Paperie. What do you think?

I think it turned out pretty good if I can say so myself.

Tonight was Eric's graduation and I am exhausted, and so proud. I will post pics tomorrow of our young man who did so good tonight, he makes my heart swell, and my eyes fill up with tears.

Have a super Friday and thanks for stopping in!

UStamp, I Stamp, We All Stamp...and the Winner Is...

...what the heck am I jabbering about?  Maybe you can't understand me with two temporary crowns in the front of my face...I'll tell you more about that later. First to the fun stuff.

At noon today, I will pick a winner of my Mystery Blog Candy, and you wanna know what it is? If I pick your name you will win a free pass to UStamp.

Congratulations goes to: Taylor Prystawsky, and her comment was:

I love Dazzling Diamonds, rhinestone brads and corduroy buttons! Anything sparkly is my favorite!

What is UStamp?  Well a few weeks ago my friend Dawn Rapsas called me.  We have been friends for a long time.  We have fun getting together at Convention, Leadership and the Stampin' Up! trips. She's got the cutest kids around and it has been fun watching her oldest daughter growing up as she usually brings her along on the trips. For a while now Dawn and I have been chatting about maybe working on a stamping event together, but we were not sure what...and well we live in different states too, so that makes it a little tricky. So when Dawn called me she said "I would love for you to join me on my UStamp with Dawn & Friends on-line event, and be one of my Creative Crew Designers." Of course I said yes, and then I was like what the heck does that mean? Ha! What it means is I will be designing projects for UStamp with Dawn & Friends, joining in the chats, and having lots of fun connecting with all the members around the world.

It is really important to the both of us, since we are both Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in the USA, that our customers are not confused about the whole process. If you are currently my customer please continue to order from me and all Dawn's customers will continue to order from her. Easy peasy!

There are different options with UStamp:

1. Join UStamp and order the products to create the projects on your own
2. Attend the classes I decide to hold using UStamp Projects
3. You can certainly do both, join UStamp and also take the classes. That way everything is cut for you, and you enjoy a day or night class in my studio.

Make sure you holler at me if you have any questions, if I am not sure of the answer, since this is new to me too. I will ask Dawn and get back to you. To join UStamp there is a link under my Crew Girl blinkie...or go here.

So back to the teeth, or is it teethph (lisping). I had my teeth cleaned yesterday, and I think that they must have loosened up stuff, so when I flossed my teeth this morning, fling! off goes a piece of tooth and bond stuff.  I think all the placque was holding it on there...ha!  So I called and they got me in and well gee ma'am, looks like you need to put a crown on that sucker...so here I sit with two temporary crowns on the bottom of my mouth in the front, (they had to do two since they sit so close together and they both had root canals done years ago) and I can tell you right now...I doubt they last the 2 weeks till I get my permanent ones.  I bet I grind them right off in my sleep.  I am hoping I am wrong, but that's just my luck. So keep your fingers crossed.  Hey maybe I will lose weight with this, two weeks of chewing soft stuff...I will probably choke first, not being able to chew my food small enough before I swallow...gulp!

So I made up a quick card tonight, (TV still does not work in studio...so I watched Wipe Out in the house with hubby - did you hear me laughing? If you have not seen it, you should watch it.  Why we get a kick out of watching people basically falling on their faces, I don't know...but it is funny!) I have these fun Loop to Loop Rub-ons sitting on my desk and I thought I wonder if I can color them in with the pencils and sansodor and it worked.  The card is not super fancy, maybe Dawn will change her mind about the whole UStamp thing once she sees it..ha!

DSCN8119 copy Stamp Set: none
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Ink: none
Misc: watercolor pencils, sansodor, stumps, filigree designer brads, white gel pen

So Eric is graduating tomorrow night. They have practice bright and early in the morning, so Jeff is taking him to that. Then we gotta take pictures of him all dressed up before we leave for the night.  His Grandparents would never forgive us if we didn't.  None of them are able to come. Sucks living in a different state and country then your folks ya know.

Have a super Thursday, cross your fingers I got teeth in the morning, and that it does not rain Thursday night, Graduation is on the football field...

Thanks for stopping in!

Here's your sign...

...that maybe when I am in my studio I don't need the tv on...I mean American Idol is over so what do I need to be watching?  Grays Anatomy is over for this season, and oh oh, when I was in the dentist office today I was reading a magazine that says that Katherine Heigl was changing her mind about leaving the show, so perhaps when the elevator closed it is when they pull Izzie back to life...what do you think?

So since the stupid cable modem strength has taken a dive since the cable guy came and did something to Eric's tv last week and they can't get out here till the 10th of June...can you believe that crap? So they suggested I unhook the splitter that splits the power between the modem and the tv to my studio and just hook the modem up directly.  My neighbor said whoever hooked it up was wacked cause he said they never should have split that and if they did they should have put an amplifier on it...so I unhooked the splitter and plugged the cable directly into the modem and that works but now I have no tv out here.  So perhaps it is the tv God's way of saying get your work done, or go watch tv with your hubby.

So tonight, Jeff and I watched 7 pounds, and I pretty much had it figured out.  It was pretty good, Jeff had to go to bed before it was over so I won't say anything more since he reads my blog first thing when he gets to work, and just in case anyone else has not seen it, I don't want to ruin it.  I will never forget listening to the radio one day and the stupid traffic reporter guy spilled the secret out of the movie Sixth Sense, I was so mad. We had not even seen it, and I had to kind of watch it through Jeff's eyes cause he had not heard the secret.

So that being said, I was cutting paper, class planning and getting my teeth cleaned today, so I did not get a card made, but I do have this one to show you, it is the Sepia Photo technique from my TLC class. I copied and just changed the set from Jan Tink and I think it turned out great.

DSCN8097 copy Stamp Set: Beautiful Blooms

Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Ver Vanilla, Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper

Ink: Basic Brown, Very Vanilla Craft

Misc: Twill Tape, Brown brads, aqua painter, ticket corner punch

Don't forget that you only have a few days left to get the free Designer Series paper.  Buy 3 get one free. You can't beat that deal.

So let's see what day is it for questions? I do believe it is day 5, and that will mean that tomorrow at noon, I will pick a winner for the Mystery Blog Candy....how exciting is that?

So the last question is:  What are your three favorite embellishments?  My answer is: brads, ribbon and buttons (especially the corduroy ones).

Have a super Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!
