Happy Birthday to…

This 'n' That

10 Apr

…me!

So for the last week I have been telling everyone I was gonna be 45, even was telling Eric that Granny will be 90 on Sunday and that is double me…and then today I realized 2009 minus 1965 is 44….I told you I hated math…..so I feel a year younger…ha! Jeff even came home from work and said "Hey Birthday Girl" and I said "I'm only 44" and he said "I was just gonna say that!!!"

Well I was due on April 1, but I came late…fooled ya Mum…maybe that is why I love having a fun time…and can't control my wackiness!

I was named after Diana Lynn, a movie star that was in Bedtime for Bonzo http://www.answers.com/topic/diana-lynn  Mum spelled my middle name with an "e" at the end though.

So for my birthday here are some funny things to watch, in honor of 44 – that is what my father-in-law calls beans (old 44's) and they lead to farts…or maybe he is talking about the farts…who knows…he is a man and they think farting is cool.

The first one I hope they are not swearing cause it is not in english, it is my sister Jacqui's fault cause she put a video on her blog which led me to find this one…

How about this one…enjoy these, and then enjoy some pics I dug up…hey I say if you can't laugh at yourself…then you can't laugh at other people…

Diana Christening Day Here is an early one…when I was going to my Christianing, seems I was a little ball of motion then too, notice the blurry hands and feet…

…also take notice of the hair…cupie doll-ish

First su order Here I am taking my first Stampin' Up! order, this is before faxes, computers and the awesome on-line ordering…by the look on my face, it looks like it might have been a good one. "Hey Mummy, they want the whole color family of Bold Brights!"

3 yr old cake copy Here is, obviously, my 3rd birthday…yet I am wearing a bib…hmmm….that explains a lot now that I think about it…served on a tv tray…man I loved those things…

Ya wanna carrot Here is one that should be labeled…"Start saving now for braces Mum"

Brace face As you can see I finally did get braces, I hated to smile, and my nerves gave me the usual cold sore before pictures…what a freak, I even look like a boy…thank goodness Jeff didn't know me then, he would have said "next, I pass on this one" – ha!

But what is hilarious when I was looking at these pictures, what looked like a cute cupie doll hair thing, turned into…

Cowlick …this…I think it's called a cowlick…blech!

and if you remember last year at Convention, when I was so excited to see my banjo boy Craig Miner and rushed to get my picture taken with him…only to see…

Convention 08 138 copy …this after the picture was taken…for the love of Pete!

I love this last picture, my friend Patsy sent it to me, she took it of Jeff and I eating breakfast with her and Tom in Hawaii…

DSC00226 …fun memories.

Well I hope you have enjoyed this look back…it was fun digging up some of these pictures.

Some day I will post some of me and Jacqui growing up, those sure pull at my old heart strings when I realize how much I miss her and the rest of my family.

Added:  OMG I just check out my little sisters blog and look what she did, she got some "us" pics…check it out!!!

Have a super Friday and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

Have a wonderful day. Usually when people have trouble with birthday math, they make themselves younger. But then if you say you are way older, people will say…'Wow, you look fabulous!' LOL Happy Birthday!!! Cathy

Happy Birthday Di!!! Oh, my… I have to tell you, I don't even know you and Jacqui, but even I got all melancholy looking at the pics she posted! LOL! What a wonderful sister-sister relationship you two have had! What a blessing!!!
I LMAO at the paisley high-waters, the big-buckled shoes & the moccasins. So much fun! And, I can't help but reflect on the simpler times we all had back then….*sigh* What a fun trip down Memory Lane, even if it wasn't my own!!! LOL!

Happy Birthday Di! Your confusion over age had me laughing. We are so soul sisters….Ever since my husband died in 1997 I've had trouble remembering how old I am. It used to be easy. Somehow I always knew how old Steve was (he was born in 1955 and somehow that math is easier than my 1958 date) and so I just subtracted 3 years from his age and Voila! After he died I kept adding years to how old I thought I was for some reason. My Mother in Law thought it was hilarious since generally I seemed to be adding 3 years (hmmmmm sounds fishy). For several years I was part of an extended Census follow up program and the first question the interviewer always asked was How old are you? Well I would rattle off whatever I currently thought I was and then she would check her records and say ummmm that's not quite what I have down here from earlier….she was too polite to say my math was really bad! It got to be quite a joke since the interviewer was the same person every 3 months for several years. Quite a few people tell me that it's very unusual for woment to add years most subtract and subtract….and subtract! I thought I was the only one with the addition problem until I read your post. Funny thing is since I moved to Oregon I once again always know how old I am. Kinda makes you wonder what's in the air or water in California and Arizona doesn't it?

So…Happy Birthday youngster and remember you're only as old as you think you are…oops maybe we should change that – LoL!

Hugs, Blessings and Happy Easter! – Jean
