Makin’ Tracks…

This 'n' That

15 Apr

…to the UPS store tomorrow.  I have all my Artisan Award submission stuff done, I just need to put the recipe on the back of everything.  Feels good to be done, but it was so much fun doing them.

I am posting quick so I can get it all done and hopefully get to bed before midnight, its 10:30 now…what you think?

DSCN7641 copy Stamp Set: Riley Train, Route 66 (Hanna Stamps!)

Paper: Bashful Blue, Going Gray, Neenah, some railroad paper I picked up at a store

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copic makers, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Really Rust

Misc: dewdrops, white gel pen

I do enjoy coloring with the Copic markers, and I would love Stampin’ Up! to have our very own Copics, I would scream, I mean it, you should have heard me when I got the tote bag on the bed in Hawaii, I’m a screamer.  OMG! when I found out that Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand were playing at convention a few years back, it’s a wonder I didn’t burst a vessel somewhere.

So today I got all registered for convention and I got my flight too.  Now we just have to wait a couple days and reserve our room and we are all set.

OK so my American Idol critique…thank you for almost staying within the hour time period.  I say next year when Kara is gone it will be better and there will be less judge chatter.

Tonight I loved Adam……..I  mean he has totally got to win the whole thing.  I mean I love Danny too, but Adam is such a performer, and wow!  I thought Danny did good.  I like the Chris guy, and I also loved the piano man, but wish he had of just sang the song the whole way like he did at the beginning, cause it was beautiful, its when he started changing it, he messed up.  Even Anoop did great tonight.  The two girls can go.  I am so glad they sang two Bryan Adams’ songs…he’s Canadian…I remember a lot happening in my life listening to Bryan Adams’ Cuts Like a Knife Casette…I met Jeff that year…there wasn’t CD’s back then.  There was my old boom box (I think we even called it a ghetto blaster – and I don’t think that is good slang but it is what we said back then) and it had dual cassettes, I was styling. I used to listen to a band called the “Headpins” and Adam reminds me of them…here you can hear one of their songs…”Turn it Loud” they are a Canadian band…and it is old rock, so you are either gonna love it or hate it…but don’t you think Adam sounds like this?

I also loved the band “Toronto”
should look to see if I can get these two albums in CD.  I don’t even know if they are still together.

I loved this song too by Klaatu – also Canadian

Old rock was the best, and Canada had some kick butt rock.

Well I am signing off for now…gonna listen to my old “stuff” while I type up my recipes…my Twilight soundtrack will appreciate a night off…ha!

Have a great Wednesday, I hope you all got your taxes done already or at least an extension done and you are not headed to the PO today…ugh!

A digibbs siggy

Our lovely Di was (is?) a headbanger!! Shocking (but not too surprising – snicker :D).

Interesting segue from headbanger to headbanger meets disco to softer (sorta) rock.

A lady with eclectic tastes. Gotta say Canadians and their bands know how to rock! I'll have to add these to my list. I've always had a thing for foreign bands (sounds weird classifying Canadian as foreign huh?) especially the Scandinavians and Celts so why not the Canadians too 😀

    Hugs and blessings Lady Rocker!

Rock on sister!!! I remember when you came home from that weekend with Liana and Laurel and you were playing that Knee Deep in Love all the time… and you had that blue sweatshirt with the yellow writing on it – I think you had them made or something….maybe something like "the shaggin wagon" or something like that !!!!
    Oh the good times!!!!
Bryan Adams is coming to London!!! Should be a good show!
He rocked – I too have done "many a thing" to Bryan Adams tunes!!!!!

OK so I have SO much to tell you and I can't email you because, well, I'm at work and don't have access to my personal email.
First, love the card!! My dad worked on the railroad when I was little so I love anything with trains. Second, I agree that Adam should win this season. He just has such range and creativity–LOVE HIM.
OK–so I had a dream about you last night. No, I'm not a stalker and I don't know why I dreamed about cause I've never met you. BUT in my dream WhipperSnapper had opened a new store in St. Louis (where I live). I walked in and there you were. You said that you loved WhipperSnapper Stamps and had to see their first retail location. I told you how much I enjoyed your blog and your creations and you said "you should move to Arizona" and I said" I have a niece in Flagstaff maybe I could visit". You were very nice and I woke up thinking how wonderful it was to have stamping friends. Weird I know but I had to share.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
