So early this evening I started to get a bit of a headache, I did get some Excedrin Migraine pills and those help but I don't want to take one unless I really need to. I hate taking pills, I like to be control of myself.
So I thought I would go lay down and it was so nice out I went out and laid on the hammock in the back yard. I had Toby up there with me and he snuggled beside me. Nothing makes you feel better then a warm furry little dog butt laying next to you…unconditional love, don't you wish you could bottle it? I dozed a little bit and when I woke up I felt better. I had class today and didn't eat anything for breakfast and just grabbed something quick at 3:30 so it could have been that. But I had my phone out there with me and I took this picture so you could see what I was looking up at. You can see the trees are starting to get some green on them, and the sky was a pretty blue. Of course I had messed with my phone one day, and the dang picture is really small…but I am sure you can get the idea…Arizona in the springtime is beautiful!
So I played with my new stamp set tonight called Scene in a Garden. I am hosting a swap with my downline and a few other side line demonstrators, and they are due March 29th, so I need to at least know what I am going to do, if I dont get them done before we leave for Hawaii, and this week is nuts getting ready. Haircuts, shopping, one more class, pedicure, tax appt, eye Doc, tanning (I got to get some color on my ghostly white skin), groomer…geesh! This set will be available April 1. I loved it as soon as I saw it. Too funny though all I am using is the rubber boots…and that reminds me of a story, when we were young, my sister Jacqui (hey Jax), our Mum (Hi Mum), and I lived with Poppa (Hi Poppa up in heaven, I love you and miss you), and Granny (Mum give Granny a hug and a kiss for me when you go see her next time). We lived in a house on a farm, that was owned by Andy and Marion Thompson, I remember some of the best times of my life living in that house, it makes me smile just thinking of it. I would love to go back and see the house again. I remember Poppa would come home from work and he had a CB, and we all had "handles" and when he got close to home he would call us and we would talk till he got home.
So one time we were in the garden, I think Jacqui and I both got stuck. Her memory is better then mine, (I don't think it was just me - I think we were together) but anyway, we had on our rubber boots, and were in Marion's garden, they were in the house cause I dont remember any adults being around…that was the best time as a kid wasn't it? No adults to see what you were up to… Anyway, every step got us deeper and deeper in the mud so that eventually you couldn't even move your feet, cause of the sucking of the mud, and we were like screaming help! help! cause I was NOT getting my feet in the mud by taking them out of the boots. So Marion's son's Hi and Sandy had to save us. They got us out and then went back for our boots…not that funny really just one of those good old memories, life on the farm…when we had to make our own fun, we didnt have computers, cable, I-pods, gameboys, Wii, or whatever like the kids have now a days. Some day I will tell you about getting lost in the corn field, my fight with the lawn mower, playing Charlie's Angels, the kitten pooping on my puppet, and how I got the small scar on my back from cow poop…aren't you excited? Lifestyles of the not so rich and famous….ha!
I saw this card by Kim Teasdale one of the new Dirty Dozen girls from Splitcoast Stampers, and I loved the lay out for it, now her card is much cuter, and she even sewed around the circles, I can not even imagine how she did that…so mine are naked circles…no sewing.
Stamp Set: Scene in a Garden, Many Happy Returns
Ink: Memento, Copics
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Summer Sun, DSP Paper Pack I
Misc: Nestabilities, Summer Sun corduroy brads, sewing machine, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop punch
So this won't be my swap card, it has too many steps, (and non-Stampin' Up! stuff on it) but I wanted to play tonight.
So did you go over to Splitcoast Stampers and look under the Hanna Stamps! forum to see the Blog Hop winners? Congratulations everyone, I hope you had as much fun as we did. The winner from my blog was Chris R from Iowa. So Chris make sure you go over to the forum and send your address to Kristi so she can mail out your goodie bag, just private message her over at SCS, if you dont know how to do that, you can email it to me too, and I can get it to her, I think she is also going to start a post so that after people start getting their goodies they can post what they got…I know I wanna know too!
Well have a super Tuesday, I will be at the accountants with my eyes, fingers, knees, toes, and arms crossed that we get a refund.
Thanks for stopping in!
what a cute card love the bright colors

Oh my gosh – I am all teary eyed but in a happy way reading that post. I remember that day…and oh yeah..it was the both of us..up to our arse's in mud! But Hi and Sandy came to the rescue!! I remember Andy and Marion always had kittens in that back room – remember that and sometimes they were evil devil kittens cause they had no human contact and we would try to get them. I have been by the house. It looks the same, but different! (if that makes any sense at all) So put that on your calendar for the next time you make a trip to Canada, we will make a point of driving down our old R.R. #2 Lucan road…maybe stop along the way and climb in some turnip wagons, and play some Charlies Angels or Bionic Woman!!! Maybe we'll call Joe, and Lorette, and Janet and Carol and see if they want to join in the fun!!!! Do you ever make that "Bionic Woman" noise anymore? You know when you are vacuuming or something..when no sane person can hear you..and you are like ti-ti-ti-ti..and pretending you are so strong you could fold the vacuum in half with your baby finger!!! haha
Love ya
Thanks for brining up some more memories…oh yeah..and just proving to the world that yes..you and I …cut from the same cloth….however crooked the stitching may be!!!
Jax
Just thought I'd pass on a little information to you. Excederine X-strength & Excederine Migraine has the same ingredients. I get migraines and have been through lots of over the counter and now I finally talked to my doctor. He recommended Imetrix. I now call that my wonder drug. Oh yeah, I suffer from sinus troubles, too. Feel better. stamping sue
P.S. your card is wonderful.
I love your blog, and your sisters! Fun to peek into other girls lives! My brother and I got stuck in the mud in our galoshes. My poor Mom could hear us calling her, but she had the new baby (my brother is now 42) in the bath and couldn't run to save us! I think the boots survived, but the red rubber ball that we were chasing was never recovered.
First of all, I am very jealous that you have a hammock!!! Of course here in the Midwest my hammock would be covered with snow or leaves or …well you get the picture. Speaking of which, your picture was SO relaxing. I just wanted to be there looking up at that.
I loved your card today—the layout is great but the colors were what really drew my attention.
Di you crack me up!! You gotta tell me…did you ever try to turn into Wonder Woman? LOL!! I did!!! Your sister sounds hilarious too! I used to pretend with my twin sister ALL the time! So many fun memories! Thanks for YOUR fun memories! It was great!
P.S. Gotta know the cow poop one!
