Paper Play Get-a-Way Weekend

This 'n' That

9 Mar

OMG! I had so much fun this weekend, I really didn't know what to expect since I had never been to Prescott Pines, and when you hear camp and cabins, who knows right?  I have been to a cabin years ago, that was a teeny kitchen, a bed almost in the same room as the kitchen and a tiny bathroom, then I was in a cabin that was really…a house – ha!

I had never met Shelli or Eileen that put on the event, and I had not met my fellow teachers either, years ago before becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I would never have gone, cause I was kinda shy and quiet, well maybe not quiet, but definitely kinda shy about meeting new people, but once I became a Demonstrator I got over my fears and love meeting new people now.

Let me tell you, next year can not come fast enough, and as soon as I know dates I will be telling you, cause you do not want to miss it.

I picked up Kathie on Friday and then we headed up to Prescott, she was my co-pilot, and the drive was so fast cause we gabbed the whole way (well with a stop at Denny's for some lunch).  When we got there we met Shelli and she showed us around camp, and took us to our cabin.

DSCN7195 copy This is where Kathie, Denise and I stayed, we each had our own room with our very bathroom, we thought or expected to share a bathroom, but nope our room had its own. Cool eh?  Oh and it WAS cool – weather wise too, I was bundled up, it was pretty brrr-y, but nice.

So Shelli and Eileen are so sweet, and OMG!, they made me SO jealous and a little sad, cause here they are best friends like 22 years or something, and they live at the camp together, with their hubbys and kids, and it made me miss my BFF Tracy so much.  I told Tracy that next year she has to come for this event.

DSCN7196 copy Here is where the Paper Play Get-a-Way girls stayed, there was I don't know how many rooms, 10 or more I think and there were regular beds and bunk beds in each one.

Then the front bump out room is where every one cropped and stamped 24-7, and also this is where Kathie taught her classes.

DSCN7199 copy This is where I taught my classes, in the game room.

I had a tiny bit of a walk from my cabin to my classroom, and the squirrels were running around and it was so nice.  Have I said how nice it was?

DSCN7200 copy This is the dining hall, and let me tell you the food was phenomonal, 3 meals a day and at night, we had hand scooped real ice cream milk shakes in any flavor you can think of, home made cookies and snacks, and real honest to goodness popcorn, you know the movie theater kind…yum!

DSCN7198 copy This is just a photo looking through the trees, from my cabin area over to the dining hall.

There was even a wedding there on Saturday, this place is lots bigger then we saw, and there is also a camp ground where you can bring your trailers, and also a bed and breakfast I think I heard Eileen talking about.

I don't know but I enjoyed myself so much, meeting new people and just getting out of the heat of the valley, I can just imagine how beautiful it is in the summer…ahhh!

DSCN7203 copy So these are the rest of the girls I taught with:

Me, Eileen, Kathie, Denise and Shelli

I will post more pictures later, these are the only pics on my camera, everyone else took pictures too and will email them to each other.

So when I got home from Prescott, look what had come in the mail…

…yeah bills….but this…

DSCN7207 copy …our Hawaii travel wallet with all our documents, itineraries, luggage tags, name tags, and all the information we need. I can't believe we will be in Hawaii at the end of the month!

Stampin' Up! always sends the cutest little travel wallet every year that holds all our stuff, and the luggage tags are very cute, with the flower shape.

Well I am headed to bed, I am a bit whooped after the weekend.

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

That trip looked like LOADS of fun Di! I miss my BFF too. We've been friends for 22 years. The nice thing about those friends is that you don't have to explain yourself because they know everything about you! 🙂 Can I come to Hawaii too?!? =)

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
