Head Over Heels…

This 'n' That

19 Mar

…in awe of all the nice emails we have gotten over Sammi, she would be so happy to know that all of you had such kind words to say, and we appreciate it so much.  A few of you emailed me the Rainbow Bridge poem, and that sure has hit home with us now.  I had read it years ago, as Jayne a dear friend of mine is a vet tech and she gave it to me to read, but reading it now, wow, what an amazing poem it is, thank you so much for sending it.

I had a class today, I did my 10/10/20 Special Occasions class over at Lois' house.  Her and Nancy had asked me one time if I would take the class to their houses, they take turns hostessing it.  I told them as long as you can get 10 people there I would certainly bring the class to them.  There is quite a bit of stuff to haul for one of these classes, and it kind of has to be worth driving the class over there, (that may sound mean but it makes sense too) otherwise they may as well take the class here. This is like the 4th time I think we have done it and each time there have been at least 10 people, today we had 12, so it has been so much fun getting to know everyone…and Lois is quite the baker, so I am always getting to munch on some good snacks as I walk around helping everyone.  It was fun and nice to get out of the house today, and not have to "think". I did wake up looking like a puff eyed wrestler from Rocky, but we are doing better now.  I am sure many more tears will be shed, as more of our friends and family find out about Sammi.

So I wanted to do a fun kinda card, quick and thinking out of the box…so to speak. What do you think?  Remember those picture puzzles and you had to figure out what they said? Well this one says what it means, but would you have guessed?

DSCN7221 copy Stamp Set:  Cheers to You (Stampin' Up!), Many Happy Returns (Stampin' Up!), In Voque (Hanna Stamps!)

Paper: Regal Rose, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!), Urban Prairie (Basic Gray), Gina K Luxury White

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics

Misc: Nestabilties (anyone know how to clean them? I have one that keeps getting ink marks on my oval, and I have tried to clean it, it is driving me nuts), bling, liquid applique, white gel pen

DSCN7222 copy Here is a side view of the "head" and the "heels" – the head was easy, I just used liquid applique, squirt it on, rub it around and heat it up, and poof! As for the bling, I bought these strips of self adhesive bling at Walmart that were in a shape, and I thought well gee I will just separate them, but when I did, I actually pulled off the sticky part which removed the mirror glaze stuff so they are just crystal glass things now with no color.  So I have to make sure to color under them, they still look neat, but not as noticeable in pictures as they are in person.

Hey this might be a good stag and doe card.  Do they do those in the US?  It seems I remember my Mum and Dad going to a couple of those when I was growing up.  I have never been to one, so just wondered if it was a Canadian thing.  I know when people get married they do a shivaree or something where you mess up stuff in the newlyweds house.

Well I hope you liked my thinking outside the box card…I may come up with some more quick cards, as the next couple days getting ready for Hawaii are gonna be crunch time.  I came home today from Lois' to a 84 degree house and the fan won't work on the a/c…lovely…ugh!

Speaking of Hawaii, make sure you stay tuned for my Hawaii special.  If you want to get my email newsletter be sure to email me at digibbs@stampingwithdi.com and asked to be added.  Subscribing here to my blog is different then my monthly newsletters.

Have a great Thursday, and thank you all so much for stopping in!

A digibbs siggy

I leterally laughed out loud when I saw your card. It's fantastic! And what's a stag and doe? They do sometimes do something to mess with newlyweds. I know that when my dad and stepmom got married, one of their bags that they had packed for their honeymoon was emptied out (they put the contents in the car under a seat) and the bag was filled with condoms and stuff like that. Well, have fun in Hawaii! I just moved from there two months ago, and I'm finding that even though I was ready to move, I want to go back, just for a vacation!

I LOVE this card!! Very clever. What is a stag and doe? It must be a Canadian thing because I have no idea what you are talking about. Sounds like a mating ritual–LOL

    Hi Di,
I don't think I would've gotten it without the words, cuz I don't drink, but after seeing the words I seem to recall that the foam is the "head" of the drink, right? That's such a cute card!! I love the foam, looks really good and you did an amazing job!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
