A Salute…

This 'n' That

26 Feb

…to all the soldiers and their families everywhere, male or female, away from home and at home.  I don't know how the families do it with a loved one away from home, missing all the fun times and even the bad times, but missing it all the same. God Bless You All!

I was so glad when I saw that Kristi (she owns Hanna Stamps! – and she is such a sweetie) came out with a soldier stamp (brand new for February) and he is actually named after my friend Vicki's son Jon…so this is GI Jon Riley. He is so cute isn't he?  But its funny if you look at some of the other Hanna DT girls, they colored him like he was more dressed…oops!

DSCN6944 copy

Stamps: Riley GI Jon, Things RIley Would Say, Route 66, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Vintage Collection from core-dinations, Basic Black, Gina K Luxury
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics, Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust
Accessories: Sanding block, art pen
Techniques: coloring with copics

I am gonna make a super quick post, I had so much fun today too, I hate to ruin the day with a headache.  I met Rhonda for a coffee and a danish, and we sat outside in the beautiful weather to visit cause we have not seen each other forever, and we kept laughing cause a man parked his motorcyle near the front door, but of course people couldn't see the bike until they started to turn into the spot and they had to back up, or swerve back straight to drive, there must have been 20 people do it, and the biker had no idea this was happening cause he was on the other side, good thing cause it's a wonder it didn't get hit.  He sat there and read his paper, with his smokes. People would have this look on their face, like oh cool, a close spot and then oh crap, theirs a bike there. Didn't take much to amuse us.

So another stinkin' headache, I really need to go see a doc, it is like my teeth even hurt, who knows maybe its my wisdom teeth, would they make me get headaches? It seems to just be the same time at night too.  All I know is I am getting sick of them, and now this stupid Doctor's office keeps calling us trying to fax us, it happens every month and every month I call and say, this is not a fax line stop calling, I called earlier and talked to a lady in the office, and she said there are so many people there she would not know who was sending the fax…hmmm…guess its too much to ask around in the office who just sent a fax eh? So she said she removed the number.  So now their office is closed, and I have gotten 3 phone calls in the last 10 minutes trying to fax us, I called and got the answering service, and who knows if that did any good.  I told her the same thing, this is not a fax, and we are not even patients at that office. Believe me they will be getting a call in the morning, and I will wait till they find out who keeps trying to fax to us…ridiculous! If it wasn't long distance, I would hook up my fax and try faxing their regular number and see how they like it.

Ok, enough of my ranting, I gotta go sit in the dark.

Have a great Thursday, and thanks so much for stopping in, I really appreciate it.

Hugs, Di

    This is a cute card! Nice to see a military set.

    Could your headaches be sinus related? If your teeth are hurting, too, it could be related to sinus pressure. I'm sure sorry you're having headaches, I get tons and they STINK, and are hard on the stamping mojo, too!! Hope you get over them soon.

    OHMYDI! My phone nymber used to be one digit off of the local weather info line! Needless to say, I got a tonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn of phonecalls early in the morning wanting to hear the latest recording of the weather and forecast! Talk about ANNOYING!

    I feel for ya, girl. I get migraines now and then, so i can totally relate! It could be sinus, could be a cavity, could be annoying commentators trying to help you, LOL!

    {Love the card with the cactus coming off the page, soooooo cute!!}

    Huge Hugs, Nicole

    Get to the doctor. There are all kinds of migraine medications out there now a days there is no need to suffer with them. They say drink a Gatorade that should help…never tried it..but hey I don't think Gatorade will kill ya…
    Our phone number is one number off of Oxford Insta Shade – which is a landscaping company, so once it warms up we can expect to get calls again..half the time they just start rambling off their tree order and then when you can finally get a word in to let them know they have the wrong number..they give you attitude. Yeah..like I was the one who dialed the wrong number…losers..
    Have a good day..get that head checked.. I get migraines alot too so it could be hereditary, genetic, whatever..but don't sit around and suffer – that's just silly!
    Love you….Nurse Jax has spoken………

    I use to get headaches, at one time I had a headache for about a month. Yeap, A MONTH!!! Granted it was not always a "spliting" headache. I thought It was TMJ (jaw problem) and go figure IT WAS MY WISDOM TEETH!!! So, I got put under and TOOK THOSE BABIES OUT! So long headaches 🙂 Maybe thats what you have? You should get checked though, you want to have a correct diagnosis. {{{hugs}}}

    Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Could you have a sinus infection because your headaches sound like my sinus headaches. I get the headaches most when I sit outside.

    Maybe try receiving the fax with your fax machine. Then you could maybe tell them what it is about and they could pinpoint the source? We had to do that once and turns out it was someone trying to fax an obit to the paper. Hope your headaches get better!!

    OK, I just had to write about the headaches. If your teeth are hurting, it sounds like sinuses. And if they have been infected for a while & you didn't know, that can be bad. Not to scare you too much, but a friend of mine, her grandson became blind due to an untreated sinus infection. It's not anything to fool around with. So, I really just wanted to make sure u knew how serious things can get, when u really didn't realize it. OK? :o) Go to the doctor! Hugs!

    OH Di :O) You are not alone on the "Tata" pain in the butt clan, what a baby, that is how she got where she is…she can't sing. the girl last week with the long black hair who was 18 sang AWSOME and they said she shouldn't sing group songs, "HELLO, NAILED IT" she was better than tatianna, Meagan and several others…My favorite is Danny though, love his voice…I hate drama, but I do LOVE your pages I get everyday in the mail, thanks for sharing!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
