…it's a pricey spot, but it was a hit!
So when I went to CHA we went to Roy's Hawaiin Fusion Restaurant and it was so delicious, and I told Jeff about it when I got home and I showed him a picture of what I ate:
Sweet Corn & Blue Crab Crusted Barramundi – it has Sun-Dried Tomato Wild Mushroom Anisette Cream
and it was as good as it looks, and I started out with the Seafood Chowder and that was really good too. Someone somewhere has a picture of me eating it…I won't say who cause I was goofing off as usual…
So Jeff was like that looks good and so I thought well we will be in Hawaii in March on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip so maybe they have one there, and so I looked online and I'll be darned if they don't have 3 in Arizona.
So tonight we headed to Chandler on a date…too funny, I said that on facebook that we were going out on a date, and one of my friends said "what is that?" and I was like "r u kidding?" – dont ya love that text lingo? r u – I'm so hip!!!! I mean just cause we have been married for almost 25 years, we still love to go out once in a while "on a date".
OK, so since my belly is full and I am tired, this will be a fast post…get ready, back up from your keyboard, you may drool just a bit…
OK just kidding…look at that yummy food!
Jeff got Flat Iron Seared Tiger Shrimp – with Jasmine Rice, Silky Tofu, Eggplant and a Korean Chile Broth
He said it was really good, I didn't try it.
I got Roy's Classic Roasted Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi – with Lobster Cognac Butter Sauce
It was really good too, not as good as what I had in CA, but still yummy.
We also each got Seafood Chowder – which has shrimp, scallop and fin fish (don't know what kinda fish that is, I mean dont they all have a fin – otherwise, they'd be a snake or something right?) We also shared Crunchy Golden Lobster Potstickers – with spicy togarashi miso butter sauce, and for dessert…
… we shared the Roy's Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle'
Overall it was pretty darned tasty, pretty darned expensive, but pretty darned nice to go out for dinner with my hubby "on a date". We don't do it often, and we definitely would only do this once a year cause of the expense but it was fun to go out to a grown up place with the dim lights and have such great friendly service…and no one once said "would you like to jumbo size that?"
Have a great Sunday and I promise to show you some cards tomorrow…deal?
Thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
I love Roy's restaurants! They have such good food, but it can be pretty pricey! However, if you do the Prix Fixe menu, it isn't too bad: three courses for $35 per person. And they have pretty good choices for each course. Apparently they change the choices seasonally.
Glad you had such a great "date"! I love going on a date with my honey, too, and our 39th is coming up in May. Maybe we'll go to Roy's that night! :^)
Hey…my husband and I went on a date on Friday night too! We went to a new place in town (which is a big deal in our little town) and it was DELISH! Like you said the bill was big but it was SO good! Thanks for sharing with us!
Gee, here's my Saturday night: took my kids for haircuts which started about 4:45, then when I stupidly asked them where they wanted to go for dinner they said BK Lounge .. which is where we ended up .. sitting inside yet. After that we went home, I dropped one off and got to go to Michael's with my eldest..which wasn't such a treat but I did my indulging there…
One word for ya………….JEALOUS!
Glad you two Had A Fun Yummy Dinner. And I see you got dessert but did you really get "Dessert"?? JK! Luv ya & thanks for always keepin us in the loop!
Okay…well I am happy that you and Jeff got out for a date night…that is totally awesome….but I must admit….that first picture…..Um….I think I cleaned something off the carpet that looked like that last week when my cat went into a hacking fit…..if I can't pronounc it….I share as hell ain't eating it….and if it looks like cat barf…..nope….can't make me eat that either.
Love you though!!!! and am glad you enjoyed it!
hey come to my house…our cat barf is free!
Miss Di you are my kind of gal with very eclectic tastes!
From mouth watering fusion food to Ketchup Potato Chips (still not sure about that one – lol)and killer chocolate fantasy desserts. Now if only Willy Wonka could get that dinner through my computer screen I'd be all set.
Thanks for sharing. And it's good to know that love is still alive and well even after 25 years! Now I'm so hungry for some really good seafood, fusion or otherwise. Hard to come by in SouthWestern Oregon (at least compared to what I could get in Santa Barbara Calif. where I used to live that is!).
I'll have to check out Roy's next time I'm down south. Maybe you should send them a copy of your blog post menu peek and suggest they give you a comp meal in Hawaii since you are providing them International advertising 🙂
Hugs and blessings – Jean
Mmmm… that does look tasty! I'll have to keep that place in mind the next time hubby asks, "you wanna go get something to eat?" LOL (after we eat there he may never ask again!)
Too Fun!!! Looks like a great time!! and quite frankly I was much more interested in Jeff then what was on his plate!!! ;)Thanks for the picture of both!

Aloha Di! When you come to the Big Island for your trip – right where you are staying at the Hilton, within walking distance (or catching the shuttle) – there's a Roy's Waikoloa Bar & Grill. Haven't eaten there yet but smells ono (delicious) when I pass by it! 🙂 Have fun when you come to our beautiful island!
Di,
I just found your site for the first time and I don't think you need to change a thing. Your blog is just great. I love the card and project ideas and your family and food stuff. Your cards are just gorgeous. The only thing I see is you need more of your beautiful cards on the site. Your art is just wonderful and keep it up. Thank you so much for sharing your creations.
