Ok, it's subtle but did you notice? I added a "G" to my blog header (well actually my friend Beth at Freckled and Fun did – she is my banner and watermark guru). A while back I know Stampin' Up! didn't want you to use the word Stampin' because I think they have it trade marked. I think mine was ok because that was just in my header and not really my blog address.
My blog address is: www.dianagibbs.typepad.com see no Stampin' there at all. Also a while ago I thought I would buy my domain name, I have heard some horror stories about people that did not, and the chaos that happened because of it. So I was going to use stampinwithdi.com, cause that is what I have been for years, and people kinda know me that way, but it was already taken…sniff! sniff! So I went with stampingwithdi.com, I guess that is better english anyway, and you know me, its all about proper english. Plus what is fun is if you type in www.stampingwithdi.com you will be transfered without even knowing it to my blog…neat-o! One thing I am not sure of is that somewhere in my typepad account Stampin' With Di is there and I don't know if I can change that or if I did, would it totally mess everything up. So anyway, I just thought I would let you know that it's still me I just have a "G" rating now…ha! Yeah as if eh?
Well people ask "where do you get your inspiration from" and it can be anywhere, magazines, tv, swaps, clothing…I can be inspired by anything…so today as I was sitting in the library reading my Country Weekly, I saw this little ad for a new CD…
…and I thought well there is an inspiration for a card. Simple and to the point…so I ripped it out of the magazine so I would not forget.
I met Alma at CHA, she is so sweet and it was a pleasure to hang out with her and get to know her a little bit. She is the owner of The Cat's Pajamas, and I have a few of her darling stamps, and they have fun little images so I thought I would use them…
…and these are what I came up with using the ad for my inspiration…I made a few little valentines…
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics
Paper: Gina K Luxury, Basic Black, Pink Flamingo DSP
Misc: Glaze pen (hard to tel but I put it on the hearts so they look embossed) – I got mine at Eclectic Paperie – if you stop by there, say hi to Joy and Daisy for me!
What is also cool is I used the DSP as the main card so the inside is pretty too. These cards are 3.5 x 3.5, I guess I could have made them 4×4…but I didn't! -Ha!
Here is the inside of that one.
See how pretty the inside is? I did not stamp it or anything but you certainly could, this way you could write your little love note inside.
"Honey, I looooove it when you take out the garbage without being asked, so the kitchen doesn't smell like fish."
Here's another one…
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics
Paper: Washington Apple DSP, Basic Black, Gina K Luxury
Misc: Black Gingham, Spica glitter pen
Here is the inside of that one.
Perhaps this one can read, "meet me later…you know where…"
Here's another one…they were fun to make…
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics
Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP, Basic Black, Gina K Luxury
Mics: White Taffeta, Glaze pen to make the hearts look embossed
I love the font on this one, I wish my printing looked like that.
Here's the inside…
…I love this Pink Flamingo paper – that is actually the pack of paper the class attendees will get at the Paper Play Getaway Weekend in Prescott Pines
The inside could say "this stumps for you" – now the CHA girls will get this joke…
Here is the last one, it has the Cindy Haffner kinda wanna be look to it…
Stamp Set: It's a Western Thing
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics
Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP< Basic Black, Gina K Luxury
Misc: Paper Flowers, Taylors Tiny Twinkles (on the belt buckle and the center of the flower), black gingham, Martha Stewart border punch
…and the inside…
…this could say, these boots also have a pointy toe for butt kickin'!
Now of course I am just kidding and always say these things with love in my heart!!
This just goes to show you how quick you can make up some little cards, with hardly any supplies at all. Cute eh?
Now I uploaded these pics in the medium size, so let me know if that is ok, I just know that when I print out the days page…I mean it kinda is a diary…the large ones don't all print, and when you click on the card it opens up bigger anyway…so just give me your opinion on that.
Well I have a borderline migraine I think and need to get off here, I wonder if they could be pre-period induced (someone said that to me last month…now that might be too much information) or who knows, we are still having rainy weather…can't be that I need quadruple glasses could it? I draw the line at tri-focals.
Tomorrow is my 1 year Blog Anniversary, and do I have some fun candy for you? Yes I do, it's already photographed and boxed up!
See ya tomorrow and thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
Love the cards…..
Those are cute fast cards. Absolutely, barometric pressure can bring on a migraine so the change in your weather with all the rain can bring it on as well as your hormones. Migraines suck.
Love you
Jax
Hi Diana!
Congrats on having your card on the SU showcase today! I love today's cards-so cute! Hope you feel better soon!
Hugs,
Elizabeth
Absolutely your migraines could be pre-period induced. I know that mine are and my doctor actually put me on continous birth control to stop them. This has worked for me. I use continous birth control for three months, take a week off for a period (and migraine) and then back on for three months.
Good luck!!!
Lovely cards today, and Congratulations on the SU Showcase card today–love the bear Under the Stars!
ONE YEAR! ooo I will have to pimp you tomorrow on my blog! YAY! I love a party!
You are a busy woman! I love that these cards are cute on the inside and out. Just goes to show that inspiration can come from anywhere. Now where is that trashbag?
