So today I was in charge of the sketch over at Paper Craft Planet and it is a fun one. I actually saw it from PageMaps Card Maps by Becky Fleck. You should sign up for the emails from there, she has some great ideas.
Here is the sketch (thanks to Susanna for doing it on the computer for me)…
Make sure you make a card using this sketch and upload it over at the Planet. Please remember to tag your card exactly like this: sk011009 and then I will snag the cards or projects throughout the week and add them to the album, that way you can see what everyone came up with. I hope we do Becky's original sketch proud.
Here is my card. Now I will admit, I showed this card a month or so ago, but it so cute.
Stamp Set: Riley Couch
Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Brocade Blue, Neenah White, Ski Slope Designer Series paper
Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir pad, Copic markers
Misc: Metallic eyelets, black hemp, word window punch, chit chat rub-ons, swiss dot cuttlebug folder.
I also worked on trying to finish up my class cards for my 10/10/20 Thank you class. I actually got the idea for this card from my good friend Cindy and it was this card that inspired me.
Stamp Set: Wonderful You, Many Thanks, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Watercolor Paper, Muirfield DSP (I am gonna miss this paper)
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, White Craft
Misc: Vanilla Hodgepodge (another New Years Resolution – same as a lot of you that answered my question for the blog candy) I will not horde anymore!, embossing folder, Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin ribbon, Trio Flower punch, Designer Label punch
I just changed the colors and turned it upside down.
I did not intend to turn it upside down, but I did not know how to do my greeting on the stripes without it getting lost, since the paper has the dark stripes, and I was not liking the satin ribbon on the vanilla, and vanilla taffeta was not making me happy either, so then I thought to turn it upside down and I liked the satin ribbon on the stripes. Then I pulled out my vanilla hodgepodge and thought that would work and voila'! Looks nice eh? Just goes to show you I do not always know what I am doing when I start out, and sometimes I will finish a card, add my embellishments, and then post it and someone will say, "I love how the brads have the dots that goes with the embossing folder and the paper" and I will look at it and go ' oh yeah!" I know not what I do most of the time. Maybe I am channeling someone when I stamp…..ohmmmmm……ohmmmmm……..
I so love the embossing folders on the white and the vanilla (well I like them in general on all colors), in fact it makes it looks richer when it is embossed. The vanilla looks like milk…maybe like curdles of milk floating in a glass. Eric just brought out the brand new un-opened jug of milk and it says best by TODAY!!! What!!! I always check the date, how did that happen? I don't want to throw it out, I am sure it is ok…where the heck is a skunk sprayed dog when you need 'em? Oh wait…that's tomato juice.
I hope you have a great Saturday, and thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
