When I Grow Up…

This 'n' That

10 Dec

…I wanna be just like you…how many times do you say that? or how many times do you hear someone say it?  I think it is a form of flattery when you say it.  I know there are many people I think that about, and I have even said it a time or two on here.

Now, I don’t know if I will really ever grow up, I still like to have fun and be wacky and crazy. Jeff and I can be quite the pair when we get foolin’ around……….ok mind out of the gutter….not that kind of foolin’ around, but I mean when ya let your guard down and just be yourself, oh my gosh Jeff is one of the funniest people I know….and how bad was I that I did not even say Happy Birthday on here to him on the 9th….what a bad wife…..bad!!!  He just kept saying…it’s just another day….but still I shoulda said Happy Birthday on here shouldn’t I have?

So anyway, with Eric graduating Friday and starting his first job on Monday, I realize we are all growing up.  Eric was a little antsy/pissy/nervous today. I think that he is thinking about Friday, he is excited and this is a big change.  He has a problem getting across his feelings, with his speech delay, most of the time it is just easier for him to clam up or be mad, cause he can’t explain what he is feeling, so we just kinda let him figure it out so we don’t send him in a bad, door slamming, screaming mood.  He also came home yesterday and he told us he has a girlfriend…and we were like “huh?”  So we will get to meet her on Friday at his graduation party at school.

So I thought I would whip up a card, that kinda has the feel of…when I grow up, I wanna be…you finish the sentence, we all have dreams or goals, or wishes.

DSCN6483 copy

Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point

Paper: Very Vanilla, Muirfield DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Watercolor Paper

Misc: Paper piercer, white gel pen, Nestabilities, Tim Holtz Ideology spinner do-hickies (I got these from Molly Stamps when I ordered the Todays Forecast set)

DSCN6484 copy Here is a side view. I popped the butterflies up with dimensionals, and it is hard to see but I added some clouds on the white circle.

So today I dropped some *stuff off at my friend Cindy’s house. She has an eBay store, (*I did some house cleaning, closet cleaning out mission) and so I did a little embellishment shopping while I was there.  I’ll use some of my new stuff in the near future, so you can see my new fun things….I am working on a card as we speak that is screamin for some new “stuff”.

I also took Toby to the vet, and it seems the little bugger (as far as they can tell-they did a culture we are waiting on) but they are pretty sure he has skin allergies, and he is scratching his ears till he has them sore, and crusty, so they gave us medicine and also new shampoo and conditioner to use on him. Poor little guy, he looks like a little rat, the droopy ears, the funky hair around his mouth from trying to give him liquid childrens benedryl, it was much easier giving it to him with Jeff’s help, compared to me sitting on the floor trying to wrestle a little dog! …ha!  He just looks so forlorn.  He is so much like his Mamma (me) my skin is so dry in the winter too, so we will scratch and lotion up together.

Have a great hump day, and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

This card is just beautiful!!! Love how you used the spinner. I started a butterfly a week or two ago with the spinner turned the other way and it still just sits on my desk waiting for me to figure out how to use it on a card, lol!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
