Remember that old bar sign? Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear. Seemed innocent enough till you really thought about it, and just listened to the words instead of reading them…must have been thought up by a man! Ha!
So today was my downline Christmas shoebox/potluck, we had a few cancellations, car troubles, dog troubles, last minute work troubles, so a few girls couldn't come, but it was cool in a way cause we got to make everyone's cards. The company was great, the food was awesome as usual. Well I think I visited and ate more then stamped (just like at convention) – I did not get half my cards done. I did put the finishing touches on this one tonight.
You have all heard me talk about MAMMa (My Arizona Mum Marlene) well this is the card she designed, at a shoebox you bring one card complete and all the supplies for everyone to make your card. I love doing this, cause you can always tweak too, I added a little gray around the image, and I added the white gel pen. I really love this card, and I need to use my prettie's more often and I love this flower set even though I did not pick it on my pre-order, looks like I'll have to earn it. I picked the Rooster set instead…cause you see this is going to be a new Hostess set for the new Spring Summer Catalog. So you better get your workshop scheduled right away.
Stamp Set: Echoes of Kindness, Family Phrases
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Shimmery White, Raspberry Tart DSP, Watercolor Paper, Regal Rose
Ink: Stazon, Going Gray, Riding Hood Red or it might be Rose Red (oops I am not sure now), Kiwi Kiss
Misc: Paper Piercer, white gel pen, silver hodge podge, pretties kit, kiwi vanilla satin ribbon
Now I took a little gander over at SCS to see if Marlene may have been "inpsired" by anyone and I did see this card. It does look similar and I so love the little changes that Marlene did to it, assuming this is the card that may have inspired her. She is the bomb! I love her!
So did you know that the new Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen cards are up? Plus if I am not mistaken anyone can see them this month, even if you are not part of the fan club. I was looking around to check out Cindy's cards and I saw this cute one. So for my card for today's shoebox card I did the same one, no need for me to take a picture of it. But tonight I wanted to play around and I had some cardstock already cut that was left over from today, and well I thought hey Hanna Stamps! Slumber Party would be cute with this paper too. How fun for a night out with the girls, playing poker! So I just moved the card ever so slightly and did this card…cute eh?
Stamp Set: Hanna Slumber Party
Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics
Paper: Real Red, So Saffron, Basic Black, Jackpot DSP, Gina K Luxury cardstock
Misc: Black Gingham, Red Striped ribbon, More Mustard Brads, Black Brads, Paper Piercer, White gel pen
So I can not tell why some of my pictures are darker then others, it drives me nuts, I mean I took the pictures one right after another, and this little box turned out perfect…ugh! Some day I will figure it out. I hope.
This was the last project we did for my Big Shot class, this is just 4 envelope dies made into a box. So cute. Just think how cute this would be with a little cupcake in it? Tied with some cello? Yum!
Stamp Set: Only Ovals, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Daisy Dash jumbo wheel
Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Misc: Riding Hood Red Tafetta Ribbon, Black Brads
Have a very nice Sunday, call a friend, read a book…thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
Beautiful card and box.
I love the new hostess set – I may have to order that one!
Beautiful Card!
how in the world did you make that box out of the envelopes? I'm DYING!!! I love it! 🙂
your first card in the post was originally designed by me. you can see the post here:

marlene should have let everyone know that the card was a CASE. i am not upset with you in any way, but i am upset that marlene did not let people know that she was NOT the original designer.
Added by Diana to Mercy: Marlene did not say she designed the card at the shoebox, it was a make n take, so if you get upset at anyone let it be me by wording it the way I did, I just wanted everyone to know I didn't "design" the card this was the one Marlene brought for the day. I did credit you with your SCS link. Thanks for steering me to your original post. I love your card. ~Di
