December 2008

OMG! I was checking out Sandra's blog the other day and happened upon the Twilight Bunnies, I fell in love with the little cuties, so I went to check out where they came from and this is it. Pink Poison, so I did a leetle bit of shopping and look what I made.

Pink poison wonderland  Stamp Set: Wonderland

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics

Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Jackpot DSP, Gina K Luxury cardstock

Misc: Embossing folder, nestabilities, tafetta ribbon dyed black with copic marker. Funky brads from NC's ebay store.

I went a little nuts coloring the little guy and the card is like 6x6 I need to cut him smaller next time, as soon as I saw this set I thought of this paper, perfect for the little guy, the only thing...and this is the anal part of me, I did not realize until AFTER he was colored and cut out, that the Jackpot paper has vanilla not white, so it looks a little odd, I want to do one using my old faithful watercolor paper, aqua painter, and ink pads.  But he is so much fun, I also got a couple more sets that I will show you some other time.

Remember a while ago I showed you my Hanna To Do Frame? Well when my sister in law Patty (hey girl) was over here a couple weeks ago, she loved the frame and said that would be a great gift to give to Emma (her daughter, my neice) for Christmas and I thought hey that's easy enough I will do it for all the girls.

So here are the frames:

Emma to do frame  Emma's frame, she likes pink, so I went with pink and she has a bit darker hair then the other girls. She is the youngest of the neices out here in Arizona.

I also gave them a little bundle of dry erase markers tied with ribbon that matched the DSP in the frame.

I made the girls a vertical frame instead of mine that was horizontal.  I could not find the flat frames in order to do the rub-ons, but I loved the roughness of these frames, plus they had the little hangie-jigs on the back so if they want to hang them on the wall they can.

Emma and her to do frame Here is Emma using her frame, she was coloring on it and doing all sorts of things on it, I think she really liked it.

We were saying it would be great to keep track of chores or when school starts back homework and stuff like that.

The other girls were with their Mum for Christmas, so Tim, their Dad will take their frames to them.

But here they are.

Frankie to do frame Frankie's Frame - she's the oldest of the neices out here in Arizona, and the colors on this one looked a bit more grown up.

Charlie to do frame Here is Charlie's Frame - she is the middle neice out here, and this DSP looked like her.

I hope they like them as much as Emma liked hers, they were fun to do.

I had someone comment on my blog and I went to check her out ( I am nosy like that, plus I have found the awesomest blogs by doing that) and then next thing you know I am clicking on this link and lookie what I found? You have a chance to win some brandy new stamps, so go check out Spiral Whisper , so steenking cah-ute!!

I hope I win...oh wait, I mean I hope you win! Ha!

I am loving all your comments on the blog candy and it sounds like most of you are the same as me...need to organize...heck look at the way I left my work table today.

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

I wanted to share a picture of Marlene (MAMMa) and Vinnie (MADVi), (ok I don't really call Vinnie MADVi) and Jeff and I when we went out to eat the other night. It was so much fun, we love these two, and are so thankful to have them in our lives.

Cropped dinner copy Bon Appetite!

I don't have anything stamped for ya, but will share a few little videos for ya to enjoy....I hope you got all you wanted from Santa, and you get to spend time with friends and family today.

Hug those around you and tell them you love them.  For those friends and family that you can't be with or for those we have lost over the years, think of a happy moment you spent with them, and smile!

This one's for MAMMa and MADVi:

Sing to me Elvis - he is my Granny's favorite:

How about some Bing?

I love this one by Faith Hill, cause it's what Christmas is all about isn't it? The song, not necessarily Faith Hill.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all of you, thanks for stopping in! Hugs, Di

Blog Candy - Watch for it Tomorrow!

I am going to look in my crystal ball and guess that we will hit 300K hits tomorrow, so that means I need to find some yummy blog candy.  I will figure it out tomorrow and post it Wednesday.

I have had a blast today starting to get my cards ready for January.  The new Hanna Stamps! sets are coming, and I also am the Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for the month of January.  I also have been asked to teach a class or two at a Camp weekend in Prescott, so those ideas are swirling around in my head too.  If you go to Prescott Pines you can get some more information. My 10/10/20 Thank you card class is also in January, no rest for the wicked eh?

Everyone seemed to love Jeff's card. Maybe I should have him do a card once a month, you think I could talk him into that?  Of course I will get my answer tomorrow, he reads my blog every morning when he gets to work.  I am excited cause we are meeting MAMMa (My Arizona Mum Marlene) and MADVi (My Arizona Dad Vinnie - now that does not look near as nice as the MAMMa does it?) Anyway, we are meeting Marlene and Vinnie for supper, the guys really enjoy visiting with each other, and well Marlene and I could gab for hours, and in fact we have many times!

Well Eric finally starts his first official day of work tomorrow, the paperwork is in and all is ago, except for the day program stuff they are still waiting for that to be approved....he is so excited to at least get to go to work, he kept asking and asking, so finally today I was able to say, yes tomorrow!

So yesterday was Jeff's turn to color Pat the Dog, and today I colored mine.  I actually had stamped two in case he had to practice, and well he did not need to practice, so I had one all stamped ready to go.  This is my sketch for Paper Craft Planet so make sure you try it out and when you upload your card make sure to tag it sk122008.

Pat the dog full Stamp Set:  Pat the Good Dog, Itty Bitty Background

Paper: Going Gray, Basic Black, Gina K Luxury Cardstock, Jackpot DSP, Ghostly Greetings DSP

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Basic Gray

Misc: Basic Gray Tafetta Ribbon, Black Dewdrops (Hanna Stamps!), Oval punch, Scallop punch for cloud stencil

So Jeff has been having fun with his Shop Smith, I teased him that he was making sawdust. He still needs to get some of those is WOOD! Ha!  And he totally needs to learn how to use everything. My BFF Tracy said to make sure to show what he made, and here it is!  We have quite a few mesquite trees on our property and he has cut some down over the years, and stacked the wood up, so he got sawing on one of the logs and look what he made me.

DSCN6578 We have not decided yet what it is...he said it could be a spanking stick, and then he winked at me! The bugger!

The mesquite wood is actually really pretty. You can see all the details in it.

We are having a whole bunch of rain right now, and it is supossed to rain all night long, we really need it, but we will be one big mud puddle in the morning.

Hey on a side note anyone out there watch All My Children?  I used to watch it years ago and I was spinning the channels the other day and saw them do a memorial for Myrtle.  I looked online and see that she actually died in October from pnemonia, yet they were saying she died the night before on the episode, so my question is, how did she die on the show, and who was in the hospital bed (if they even showed that), if she really had passed away 2 months ago?

Well have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Today's Blog Card Brought to You By...

...Jeff Gibbs!

That's right folks Jeff made this card just for YOU! Want proof?

Jeff coloring his first card Here he is sitting at my table coloring, look at his great don't want to see me all hunched over coloring...ha!

I gave him a quick little lesson on coloring with the copics and I let him go, well actually he was like "leave me alone" and he would not let me look till he was done. He did not want his picture taken but I took it anyway and he was like "want me to stop?" and I was like No!! But then he said I could post it. What a guy eh?

So wanna see the card? OK, now just so you know he just colored the image and I did the rest, I left it pretty simple cause it is a masculine card.

Jeff's first card full Stamp Set: Pat the Good Dog

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics

Paper: Holiday Treasures DSP, Chocolate Chip, Gina K Luxury Cardstock

Misc: Old Olive Brads

He did not bad eh? Jeff took art in school and he can draw pretty much anything, but he keeps telling me he needs to practice, but I think he did great! In fact if you look close enough you can see he even drew in the shadow of Pat on the ground, I was like what the heck? Pretty smart huh?

Jeff's first card closeup See?

I have to get him to sign the back, cause I am definitely keeping this one.

I have had a headache and back ache most of the day so spent most of it in bed. My friend Jeanne said that they could be PMS migraines, and well it could be...I will have to remember to maybe write down when I get them, I am sure that is what is up with my back.

So I promise I will be busy tomorrow and get stamping, I have got a few images colored up, I just need to make them into cards.

I hope you have enjoyed this card by the artist known as Jeff Gibbs.

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Poker Anyone?

Remember that old bar sign? Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear.  Seemed innocent enough till you really thought about it, and just listened to the words instead of reading them...must have been thought up by a man! Ha!

So today was my downline Christmas shoebox/potluck, we had a few cancellations, car troubles, dog troubles, last minute work troubles, so a few girls couldn't come, but it was cool in a way cause we got to make everyone's cards.  The company was great, the food was awesome as usual. Well I think I visited and ate more then stamped (just like at convention) - I did not get half my cards done.  I did put the finishing touches on this one tonight.

You have all heard me talk about MAMMa (My Arizona Mum Marlene) well this is the card she designed, at a shoebox you bring one card complete and all the supplies for everyone to make your card.  I love doing this, cause you can always tweak too, I added a little gray around the image, and I added the white gel pen. I really love this card, and I need to use my prettie's more often and I love this flower set even though I did not pick it on my pre-order, looks like I'll have to earn it. I picked the Rooster set instead...cause you see this is going to be a new Hostess set for the new Spring Summer Catalog.  So you better get your workshop scheduled right away.

DSCN6569 copy Stamp Set: Echoes of Kindness, Family Phrases

Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Shimmery White, Raspberry Tart DSP, Watercolor Paper, Regal Rose

Ink: Stazon, Going Gray, Riding Hood Red or it might be Rose Red (oops I am not sure now), Kiwi Kiss

Misc: Paper Piercer, white gel pen, silver hodge podge, pretties kit, kiwi vanilla satin ribbon

Now I took a little gander over at SCS to see if Marlene may have been "inpsired" by anyone and I did see this card. It does look similar and I so love the little changes that Marlene did to it, assuming this is the card that may have inspired her. She is the bomb! I love her!

So did you know that the new Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen cards are up? Plus if I am not mistaken anyone can see them this month, even if you are not part of the fan club. I was looking around to check out Cindy's cards and I saw this cute one. So for my card for today's shoebox card I did the same one, no need for me to take a picture of it.  But tonight I wanted to play around and I had some cardstock already cut that was left over from today, and well I thought hey Hanna Stamps! Slumber Party would be cute with this paper too. How fun for a night out with the girls, playing poker! So I just moved the card ever so slightly and did this card...cute eh?

DSCN6573 copy Stamp Set: Hanna Slumber Party

Ink: Memento Tuxedo, Copics

Paper: Real Red, So Saffron, Basic Black, Jackpot DSP, Gina K Luxury cardstock

Misc: Black Gingham, Red Striped ribbon, More Mustard Brads, Black Brads, Paper Piercer, White gel pen

So I can not tell why some of my pictures are darker then others, it drives me nuts, I mean I took the pictures one right after another, and this little box turned out perfect...ugh! Some day I will figure it out. I hope.

This was the last project we did for my Big Shot class, this is just 4 envelope dies made into a box. So cute. Just think how cute this would be with a little cupcake in it?  Tied with some cello? Yum!

DSCN6570 copy Stamp Set: Only Ovals, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Daisy Dash jumbo wheel

Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black

Misc: Riding Hood Red Tafetta Ribbon, Black Brads

Have a very nice Sunday, call a friend, read a book...thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di
