I had to get the Naughty one, I could not resist. It's hard to believe that December is here already, and that means Christmas is right around the corner, and so is the end of the year for getting tax papers in order…but what sounds like more fun is….new stamps! It's release week over at Hanna Stamps!
Make sure you go on over to Splitcoast Stampers Thursday December 4th at 9pm EST and join in all the fun while the Hanna Stamps! Design Team have challenges, and prizes! Also check out the rest of the DT blogs to see what they have come up with.
One of the new sets is Slumber Party, and it has 3 different girls, pillows, popcorn, soda pop, and a few greetings.
It is very cute and fun, no matter how old of a "girl" you are.
Oh and what was I saying about Naughty?
Well I am going to CHA in California in January, and me and my dear friend Cindy are going to room together. So when I was at Target one day, I spied these little Naughty or Nice things, and well like I said I choose the Naughty ones.
So this is gonna be a little roomie gift for Cindy, shhhh….don't tell her, she NEVER reads my blog so she won't know. This way she can sleep in in the morning…..ya think?

So today there was a bug on the door and I was checking it out and I was like hmmm…it looks like a lady bug, but it was black with 1 red dot on one side and 1 on the other, so this was the weirdest lady bug I ever saw, it is in a jar right now in case a scientist is interested. Aren't lady bugs red with black dots? and don't they have more then 1 on each side?
I also cooked tonight, yeah I shoulda told you to sit down before you started to read. I love Michelle Wooderson's blog Mish Mash, I love how she decorates, I love her stamping and crafting, I especially love her use of antiques in her craft room, and now I love her French Onion Soup.
So I ran into the grocery store today after going to UPS to ship my Leadership Displays and I picked up ingredients to make Michelle's soup, as well as other goodies, I shopped hungry…bad bad Diana!
So tonight I made it, and it was very good. In fact Jeff had two bowls…well a bowl and a half cause he finished mine. I really have to get onion soup bowls, cause I just used these ramakins and they were kinda small.
The first time I had french onion soup was at Convention this year, my BFF Tracy had ordered it one night and I said the next night I was going to order it, and it was good. I never was an onion person growing up, but now that I am older I can eat them, if they are not strong. So the man at the grocery store told me to get the white onion as it was not as spicy as the yellow, I am glad I asked, since the recipe did not really say. So anyway, definitely try it, and let me know what you think. I may even start making cute recipe cards like Michelle does…..I so want to be her……….
So my 12 Days of Christmas special today is "Ribbon is all the Rage" – basically every day I have a special for my customers, and they get an email newsletter telling them about it…….email me if you want me to sign you up. I do this sale every year, and then I also have a sale while I am on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip every year. It is just a way to thank everyone for their friendship and supporting me over the year.
Have a great Tuesday, and thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di

AHHHH….A present….A present….A present!!! Sooooo flippin' ADORABLE!!!!!!! Oh yes, the gift is too….:)))) …and, oh my word, that soup looks incredible! Can ya wrap some of that up too??? That would make a lovely roomie gift, doncha think? 😉 Luv ya!
Hi Di! I have to share my tip for my onion soup – sweat the onions for 1.5 hours. Cook them low and slow for the best flavor. About an hour in, add a teaspoon or two of sugar and a teaspoon or two of white wine. Let them finish off until they become golden.
It will taste just like a restaurant!
Happy holidays to you and yours!
Super cute gift project by the way!!
Such a fabulous project idea! Love it!
oh my word….I dont know if that was a ladybug either…YIKES…..
LOVE your naughty or nice……ok now I'll take a bowl of your soup….
Skip the bug, Let's Eat!!
lol…
You lady bug was so weird so I decided to look it up…
Well, It's a relative of the common lady bug (Coccinella septempunctata) but it's not the same one we all know and love (at least I love).
This one is called Chilocorus kuwanae.
So – now you know… 🙂
I just love your blog!! That bug also goes by the name – twice-stabbed lady bug – here's a link to that info http://insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide/bimg158.html TOO Funny!
Stacey's tip to sweat onions is great, but my tip is what kind of onion to use. Walla Walla Sweets are my fave but are grown in Washington and have a very short shelf life, so I never see them down in Florida. Vidalia onions from Georgia are more prevalent down here and when they're out of season, there 1505's (or something like that) from Texas and when they aren't around, there are usually Mayan Sweets from Mexico. I never cry when I peel and chop a sweet onion and they make the best French onion soup.
