…an Academy Award winner…you know the ones that keep getting called up on stage, and they are so surprised cause really they just love what they are doing, and are just tickled as all get out to get an award…well that is me….
When I started this blog in February 2008, I thought I would give it a shot, little did I know how much fun it would be…sure it keeps me busy stamping, but then there could be a lot worse things, lets say I had a blog that was a poop diary, what kinda stress would that be on the days I did NOT have a..what would I call it? a blog entry story…or would that be a blog exit story? blech!!!! sorry, anyway, I am now over 290 THOUSAND hits and that just floors me. I have met so many people through my blog, and that is another perk that I was not even thinking of when I started. I also have been honored to be on some great Design Teams as well. My contraband, that started with one lonely little Hanna Stamps! set (that sat in a drawer for months cause I was afraid to use it and "get caught"), Kristi (she owns Hanna Stamps! – love her) thought that was so funny when Vicki and Jacqui told her that, and well probably proud that it was her stuff that had me ordering something non- Stampin' Up! and as my MAMMa says…once I broke out of my box, or did she say bubble?…I went all the way!!!!
So anyway, in the last week or so and the last day or so I have been nominated from some girls for some blog awards, and here they are, in no particular order either:
From Sankari - my fellow PCP Super Nova – hot chocolate extroidinaire, who better get her butt over here to stamp!!
From Vicki - my fellow Hanna Stamps! Design Team Member who I like to call Boss (she's the one that will rattle my butt if my DT stuff is not done), and I can hardly wait to meet at CHA (Depends are already packed), she is also my sister Jacqui's bestest friend.
From Cori - I love that she used the word Dianaisms when she described how I talk – ha! I guess that is nicer then calling it wackjob speak, cause half the time I know not what I am saying…or typing. (oh and Cori – I was NOT offended by the word Dianaisms..I love it, and really got a chuckle when I read it!)
and last but not least:
From Cindy - my sweet girlfriend/CHA roomie/ and all around fun chick to be around, and who I miss dearly
So now I need to give these awards away, and I am gonna rattle off a few names and you all can pick which award you want, or you can have them all.
Ilina - she is a new Hanna Stamps! DT member, and we have a few things in common: she lives in PA, and I wish I did, she is also a fellow INKredible gal, and our birthday is on the same day!! – cool eh?
There's another new Hanna Stamps! girl Joycelyn and she is awesome too, but she does not have a blog…yet…we are fellow Canadians, so we have that in common…gotta love those Canucks!
Cambria - who is one of the masterminds behind Our Craft Lounge, and hey psstt….she has some blog candy happenin' too…go check it out…but come back here!!!
ok, one more….I gotta get to bed…..
Michelle - you have all heard me talk about Mish Mash, I just love what she does, the trinkets, the antiques, the recipes..the…the…all of it!
So today was my first class for the Big Shot. I showed you the owl already, and they all loved him, it was fun to see how everyone's look different based on where you glue the head and the angle of the eyes. I love him.
So this box I got the idea from Vicki – see above award link…that rascal did a fun Christmas one, and I wanted to show off the new bee set, plus by the time my class girls get their Big Shots they won't have time to make them for Christmas. So what do you think?
Stamp: Just Buzzin' By, Twill Background Stamp
Paper: More Mustard, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Summer Sun, Baja Breeze, More Mustard Craft
Misc: Wide Striped Riding Hood Red grosgrain, Word Window punch, Top Note Bigz Die, little lunch bag, and red tissue.
These little bees are so cute, they are a pain to cut out so we used a couple tricks to get around it. If you stamp the little bee on the item you are going to glue them on, like the box, then you just have to cut out the bees body not the legs or feelers cause they are already on the box, then you just glue the little body on top.
You can kinda see what I mean if you look closely to the little girl bee under the "just buzzin", she is timidly walking over to the rock kicker boy bee to the lower left,(I cut him all the way out) he has been kicking rocks all morning, and she is sick of it. The little flying bee (I only cut her legs out the feelers are on the hive) is off to tell the Queen. The Queen will knock that smirk right off his face. I want to see the set that has that image in it. This is a cute set, as Demonstrators we are able to pre-order new stuff from the upcoming catalog. I could not resist.
OK, well I am off to bed for real now, Eric went to a Christmas party and is spending the night, so the old man and I have the house together all by ourselves………well and the two dogs…..and well my new Magnolia's and um…the new Batman movie…..
Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
