Well it is that time of year to think of Holiday decorating whether it be Thanksgiving or Christmas.
So I think it was last year, or maybe the year before, my sister Jacqui gave me the cutest ornament she made, and I proceeded to make some and my hostesses got to make them at my hostess appreciation party too.
Basically you need a glass ornament, a window sheet, fine fake snow, liquid applique, heat gun, dazzling diamonds, a stazon pad, and sharpie markers, or you can use your Copic markers too.
Whatever shape your ornament is that is the shape you want to cut the window sheet into, so this was a circle. Make it a bit smaller so it will fit inside, but not small enough where it spins in there. Stamp your image, this was a snowman, on the window sheet with the stazon pad. Then color in the image with your markers. Then you want to roll up the window sheet into a tube and put it inside the ornament and then it will open up inside. You will have to practice a bit to get it right. So have a few ornaments on hand, cause you can not get the window sheet out once it is in there. Then I sprinkled some fine snow on the front and backside of the windowsheet, put on the cap. Then squirt some liquid applique around the lid of the ornament, sprinkle some dazzling diamonds on it, and then heat it up carefully.
Here you can see the lid a little better.
It just makes it look like snow is coming out of the lid and secures the ornament.
Tie some silver cord on it, and hang it from your tree.
I also got this adorable ornament last year from my friend and fellow Canadian who is a Demonstrator in Arizona, Kathy Bethune. (hey chickee)
Isn't it cute? It hangs on my little tree that my BFF Tracy brought me last year, and I keep that little tree up all year long with little ornaments on it.
So I was listening to the tv, and a commercial came on, and it is the lady that invented Airborne talking, that is the stuff you take before you go on a plane to help you fight germs, and believe me I am a germ freak, and I take the stuff when I travel. But in the commercial she says she sold the company so she could raise her family, but then she says she did not like the way her company was being run, so she bought it back…but it makes me wonder, if she sold it, does that not mean it is not her company anymore, and the new owners can do what they want? I don't know, the commercial just confuses me.
Well I hope you enjoyed looking at these fun little ornaments.
Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping in!
Hugs, Di
Very Cute!!!
I love the ornament! I'm gonna have to try it out!! And I would love to get a soldering iron and start playing with it. So many things I want to learn and so little time! Good luck on your fall fest. I'm sure it will turn out great! And I hope you don't get sick for it.
SUPER CUTE ornament! I make ornaments every year (huge family, great way to give a gift that won't break the bank!)
Love the snow+diamond dust on the cap idea! Might have to use that in the future.
