Trois Poules Français

Excusez-moi? Pardon? What?  (speaking with a french axxcent) I said Three French Hens!!!

Today I am in charge of the 12 Days of Christmas Event on Paper Craft Planet - and it is day 3, so I will give you 3 guesses what it is....no it is not a partridge in a pear tree, and no it is not 2 turtledoves, yes! ding! ding! you are correctamundo it is: DSCN6413 copy

now this is not the hen part is it? I mean these look like baguettes...ha! in fact yes they are baguettes, these are the baguettes that the three french hens have bought to take home to their 3 french wives.

Ok my hubby just told me hens are a girl, well hmmm...I am gonna pretend these are boys...yeah...it's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

DSCN6414 copy Here are those rascally three french boy hens.

Sipping their champagne and carrying their baguettes home to their frisky young brides.

They are so very excited.

Don't they look it?

Wanna see the rest of the card?

Here it is...

DSCN6412 copy

It probably is not my favorite card, the flower seems très grand (very big), but it had to be because the ribbon is big and then the circle was big.

I also wish that when they made this set they would have made one of the items in it, this being the baguette, be like an accessory aside of the hen. Cause I had to cut up the baguette the masculine hen was carrying to be able to put them on the circle.

Stamps: 12 Days of Christmas - Pennyblack - this set is so adorable and all my PCP DT girls are so tres jealous I have it.....had to rub that in....désolé les filles (sorry girls)

Ink: Palette Noir, Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Going Gray

Paper: More Mustard, Whisper White, Watercolor paper, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, K&Company Background paper

Misc: Nestabilities, Paper Piercer, White gel pen, Pretties flower, Riding Hood Red Striped ribbon from Mini catalog

So ok, now on to the challenge...make a card or a project using a hen, owl, rooster or chicken. If you can make it a holiday card using any of these that is even better.

Here are the rules:

1. Upload your card/project to PCP starting Sunday November 30 and no later then Monday December 1 at 12:01am EST

2. Include the tag 12day3 (in lower case) (in the tag spot as you add your card) that way I can find it and put it in our Day 3 Album.  It will also make sure that your project will be entered to win a fabulous gift from our sponsor for Day 3 Innovative Stamp Creations

Tag FYI: PCP does not automatically load your project into the album, I have to do that manually so don't freak out if you don't see your card immediately.  I will be checking throughout the day to add them. Just make sure you use the tag 12day3 so I can find it, otherwise I won't know where it is.

Have fun and I can hardly wait to see what you will come up with.

Merci pour l'arrêt dans! (Thanks for stopping in!)

Hugs, Di

Take a Look Again...

...so today I went through about 7 forget me not keepers, I can not believe how many cards I have...holy moly...but I mean I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 10 years and that is a lot of swapping.

DSCN6410 copy This card I remember making for my upline Rhonda's swap.

Hopefully it won't offend anyone.  I remember when I made it I took a picture of it and emailed it to Rhon and I said "is it ok if I swap this card?" cause it is her meeting and she makes the rules and I did not want to get into trouble, and she laughed and said "I could definitely swap the card" I can not remember now if the swap was wedding or baby or what, but it was so funny when the cards went around the room, you would hear people say "ahh" (cause they see the baby feet) and then they would say "ohhh" cause they realized what the feet were doing....some girls were saying "look at it again" when their friend was not seeing "it", it was funny, and everyone got a kick out of it,  I just used a set called Cuddles and Tickles and I had cut the feet apart, so I could do whatever I wanted with them...you could walk them on a scrapbook page, I had even intended to make a "Footprints" card but never got it done.

DSCN6411 copy I usually try to do a 10/10/20 Black & White card class every year, and this was one of the cards we did.

I gotta tell you, you would think that this would be an easy class to design but it can be hard to be so limited in color.

It was one of the easiest to cut, and gosh those girls were done in no time, but it is hard on my old brain.

So my fingernails are almost grown out from having fake ones on for so many years, but my gosh I remember why I got them done, not just cause they look nice, but cause I am a picker, not a nose picker, but I am a finger picker, I am constantly messing with my fingers, in fact, I even had a hang nail I messed with today...OMG! have you seen that commercial on Sci-Fi where the guy pulls a hang nail and he rips a big hole clear down his arm, well it was not as bad as that, but close.  I need nerve pills I swear!!

I got a fun packet of paper today from Paper Temptress, and I am excited to give it a try.  I am in charge of the 12 Days of Christmas challenge for tomorrow over at Paper Craft Planet , so I may see if any of it will work for that.  Make sure you are going over there and participating in the challenges the PCP-DT are hosting.  You are entering to win some free prizes from our sponsors.  Yesterday was a Partridge in a Pear Tree, today is Two Turtle Doves.  So go make a card with a dove, a turtle, a reptile and post it over there.  Hmmm....I wonder what my challenge for tomorow will be? Ha!!!! You can't win if you don't play. When you upload your card you need to tag or use the keyword 12day2 (all lowercase) and then the hostess will manually pull them into the gallery.  Don't freak out if it does not get moved over immediately, we have to do this manually....which means...manually! Ha!!!!

Have a great Saturday, I can't belive that November is almost over. It is hard to believe eh?

Thanks for stopping in...go get your card made, and I'll see you over at the Planet!

Hugs, Di

Remember these?

Well today we had Jeff's brothers and sister and their families over for Thanksgiving.  Since I have been busy with display stamping, DT work and all that good stuff, Jeff was a total Emeril and cooked everything, (he soaked the turkey in brine for 24 hours, and then smoked it all night long), he made homemade stuffing, homemade scallop potatoes, (my BFF Tracy's is weeping and her heart is beating a little faster as she reads this....I just know it!) and then everyone else brought everything else. So we had a householdfull: Jeff's younger sister, Patty, her hubby Bob & their daughter Emma, Jeff's younger brother Tim, and his two girls Charlie & Frankie, and Jeff's older brother Mike, and then Jeff, Eric and I, we ate and visited, and I am still stuffed.

Mike just moved out here in the last month from Illinois, Tim and Patty have lived out here for quite a few years, and they met their spouses and started families while they were out here.

Tim, and his two girls, and Mike live out here by us, so we see them once in a while, but it has been it seems like forever since I have seen Patty, Bob & Emma, so it was great to see everyone.

After we ate and sat outside, it was really nice today, it rained last night, so it was nice and cool and the AZ desert was not blowing dust everywhere...you know how I like that...NOT.  So Patty and Emma and I hung out in the stamp room later, and Patty was going through my cards for sale, (she works at a school and they use them for the teachers etc.) and then I said she could go through the other card boxes too, and if she wanted any of those, pull them out and if I wanted to sell them, I would get her an envelope, (now that I have started my blog, it has been a little easier saying goodbye to my cards...I mean I can always come visit them again on here right?) she found 35 she wanted, and I also gave her some other goodies off the shelf, and Emma even left with some gems she found exciting.  So I should really be finishing up my display scrapbook pages, but instead I am going through my cards, and getting them ready for sale. Card fronts need backs, and some just need re-touched! I gotta bug up my butt to do it and well I'm scratchin' it and gettin' it done.  I have a class I am going to be teaching in Prescott the first part of March and the lady that runs it said I could bring things to sell if I wanted, so I figure what is left after my classes I will take.

DSCN6407 copy So I thought I would show you a couple oldies but goodies, I hope I have not shown them before, and if I have, well you won't see them again, cause on my spinner rack they are going.

I loved this set, and it was fun to put different things in the bubblegum machine, it was one of those think outside of the box sets.

Cause no way would you get popcorn out of a bubblegum machine. Ha!

DSCN6408 copy

This is an old set called Birthday Banter, I got this card idea from I believe Marlene, my MAMMa, and I think she saw it on Splitcoaststampers by jreks (I just looked it up) I love it, in fact we got it at a regional event I think and I even at one time sold mine.

Then I kicked myself, and actually tracked down another set and had to re-buy it, for pete's sake, just take a pill already Di! Ha!

DSCN6409 copy This is an old set called In Full Bloom and it holds a special place in my heart because this set was one of the first sets I ever worked with as a display stamper for Stampin' Up! Oh my gosh that was years ago but it just feels like yesterday.

Maybe cause yesterday I was working on new display stuff! Hee!Hee!

Have a great Friday, enjoy your Turkey pot pie, your Turkey tarts, your Turkey stew, your Turkey jam etc.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am so thankful to have all of you in my life, you make me smile everyday, and I appreciate it.

Since it is Thanksgiving, I am going to take a break and not do a stamped post today, except to tell you about a fun contest that is starting tomorrow over at the Planet!!!!

12daysbanner Starting this Friday, November 28th, Paper Craft Planet is having 12 DAYS OF CONTESTS!

Each day, one of our generous sponsors will give away something AMAZING -- all you have to do to play is make a card that goes with the theme and post it in the correct gallery.   The theme for each day will be posted on the main page, along with the link to the gallery, and the keyword to enter.

We will have one winner for each day! Feel free to play every day!

It's going to be a ROCKIN' holiday season!  See ya over there, and Good Luck!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my regular post! Thanks for stopping in!

An Old Dog....but a Winner

That's me...an old dog...it's like once I learn a new trick, or a new sketch I do it over and over, and it's hard to teach me a new one...ok, that does not make any sense what so ever, but basically when I find a new sketch I like, I am going to repeat it, so this is the same sketch I did a few days ago with the adorable Pea-nut sets from Our Craft Lounge.

Gordie the giraffe full I got me a few new little goodies from PaperWorks Co. and I decided to play with Gordie the Giraffe.  I loved him and well I have a cousin named Gordie and I love him too. In fact when Gordie was born I also got one of my first dolls, so I called my new baby Gordie too, well not Gordie Two, I mean Gordie also.  Anyway, I still have that doll and the poor thing is still called Gordie. But isnt this little guy adorable? He also has a friend called Harriet the Hippo and Lucas the Lion. He is perfect for a baby card, so that is what I did. Using one of the Stampin' Up! Chit Chat rub-ons.

Stamp Set: Gordie the Giraffe

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, More Mustard, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss

Paper: Kiwi Kiss Textured (I got me a bunch of textured paper recently and let me tell you, I love it!) Whisper White Textured, More Mustard, Watercolor paper, Green Tea DSP, Bella Rose DSP

Misc: Paper Piercer, White gel pen, Build a brads, 1/2" circle punch, nestabilities circles, cuttlebug folder

I also was a winner today, well actually I guess I was a winner on Sunday, I just forgot to go over to Our Craft Lounge and see the winning tickets numbers and guess what?

DSCN6394 One of them was mine! Now I can't say I never win anything. Jeff came home from getting his bow fixed and I was like "I won, I won!" and he was like "what did you win?" and I said "I don't know...but I won!"  So I'll let you know what I get! I must have held my ticket up to the computer 10 times and looked at it over and over, cause I did not want to say it was my ticket and be wrong.

Typepad keeps changing too, I know they are upgrading, but this goes back to the old dog, I get used to doing things a certain way and then things change and I am like "what the heck?" so some of the things that I could do before, I have no idea where they went, so it is a little aggravating. I will figure it out eventually, just in time for them to change it again.

So I hope you are all ready for some fun times over on my Stampin' Up! website today (Wednesday) there are a bunch of sales going on, and I am as excited as you are, cause we were told nothing...that way we don't spill the beans!  So make sure you check it out. The sales run from the 26th - December 1. Here is the flyer Download Bundles_US

Well I got all my Stampin' Up! 3-D displays done today so now all I have left to do is the scrapbook pages. I always do the cards first, 3-D second and the pages last cause well those are harder for me to do. I love to scrapbook, but I never have pictures. So I always use my friend and fellow Demonstrator Karen Meinerz adorable kids (hey girls), so when I show you all this stuff I have been working on in February, you will get to see just how adorable they are.

Well I hope you have a great Wednesday, get that last minute grocery store errand run, you don't want to be doing it tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di
