Happy Anniversary Baby…

This 'n' That

2 Nov

…I got you on my mind…..

Well I got him on my mind cause he is at the danged old Honeywell Charity Rodeo.  I am glad they do it cause it is for charity, but gosh the people that get hurt, and even some of the animals, makes it not worth it to me, I say just give to the charity.  But for all I know the person that started it loved rodeoing, but I just hate the worryin', and everyone loves to go and participate.

So anyway, today is Jeff and my 24th Anniversary!

Cut the cake pic

Here we were cutting our cake, all those years ago, yeah uh!uh! we were younguns  – I was 19 and he was 24.

Don't we look so cute, and so excited to get on with the whole thing so we get on to the wedding night?

He planned the whole wedding night, and it was a surprise to me!

We went to Jumers in I can't remember what town in Illinois, we did not go anywhere for our honeymoon right away, we had to be back the next day to say bye to all our family that had traveled to the wedding.

Our actual honeymoon was when we drove to Arizona to live, we had our Chevy Chevette car loaded inside and out, oh my gosh we looked like a mountain driving down the road, when we would look at the shadow on the road of our car, it was stacked high.

We drove and drove and when we got to the border the patrol guy asked "Do you have fruit or plants" well this is before I wore hearing aids, so I thought he said "Do you have further plans?" and I am like well we hope to buy a house, get jobs, have a couple kids….but well he did not want to know that.

So we drove in Arizona for it seemed forever and I was like to Jeff "where are the cactuses?" and finally which seemed forever longer we came over a hill and there were tons of them.

We have been in Arizona ever since.

Panama canal photo

Now this picture was taken on our Stampin' Up! cruise to the Panama Canal last year, I love this picture of us so we did not even take pictures this year on cruise, cause heck, we are a year older and this one could not be beat.

I did not know till we got home that Jeff had stinkin' chew in his mouth the whole time we were getting pics taken….the bugger.

We also did not know that they were developing them in black and white until we went to find them in the photo gallery, and I did not like them in black and white (they show all the wrinkles, plus I had a danged old black shirt on) so they changed this one back into color for us.

Black and white  I did get one in black and white too, it was a little different pose though, and to me you can see all the wrinkles and my shirt is a big old black blob, and this one is more posed and not so natural as the other one, with me hugging him from the back almost choking him saying "please can I order just one more stamp set?".

So anyway, I hope you have enjoyed some pics of us old married folks.

Here's to 24 more years honey! I love you!

Have a beautiful Sunday, and thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Congratulations, Di! You two are still so darn cute 24 years later!! And bah on wrinkles; I've resigned myself to the fact that they aren't going away (I'm a decade ahead of you) and frankly I'm darn glad to be here every day, so I guess I'll learn to enjoy them in that perspective!

Thanks for your fun, clever and creative blog. Your stories leave me with tears and trying to catch my breath from laughing so hard.

Best wishes to you and your husband on your anniversary!

    Happy Anniversary!!!!! I LOVE the pics, both old and new! Such a bee-U-tee-ful couple! It is clear you two were meant for each other…you both have that "I have something up my sleeve" twinkle in your eyes. Or, in Jeff's case, maybe it's, "I have something in my mouth"…haha LOVE you! Have a wonderful day…and tell that hubby not to get himself hurt today! {{hugs}}

Jumer's Castle!! Being a Chicagoan, that just jumped out of your post at me! That used to be a landmark for me when I traveled around Illinois for work. So nice to see another couple on the way to 25 years, still happily married. Congratulations!

There may be other Jumers in IL…..but the ones I know are in Champaign (home of the Univ. of Illinois) and Bloomington.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
