So what is so funny is Vicki has a November challenge in the Hanna Stamps! forum over at Splitcoast stampers, and it is to make a book mark...the funny part is a book mark goes in a book, and you READ a book, but I guess I did not READ the challenge very well I just saw make a book mark. So I thought perfect I have been dieing to put some ink to the stamp set Hippy Chick and the fun image of the lava lamp. I never had one but they are just so cool.
So as I sat and colored all my lava lamps, flowers and peace signs and reflected on how totally groovy they were, something made me go look at Vicki's post again…well for pete's sake, although I think I said something else…the book mark is supposed to use the set Read My T . So I colored Hanna and cut her out and added her on top of all my lava lamps in her pink funky hightop sneakers….I did add a cute little flower brad on her belt, to pull in the blue from the lava lamps, and it is just too naked without something there. I got the brads from Hanna Stamps!, I just added a little white dot to the center of the flower with my gel pen.
Stamp Set: Read My T, Hippy Chick
Paper: Yoyo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Neenah Paper
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Misc: Flower brad, white gel pen
I did not add a tassle which is normally on a book mark, but I didn't think she needed one.
So I also sit and color, and too funny when I was chatting with Jeanne one night she said the same, that she colors stuff and then uses it later.
I was practicing with my Copics, getting better all the time, still trying to learn the colors by the lids, I also added some gel pen streaks to her hair and then went over them with a lighter marker.
Some day I'll put her on a card, but right now she sits in my in-box tray just smiling at me.
So I had to get a new color printer, mine crapped out when I was printing the calendar instructions for the calendar kits. So Circuit City is going out of business and I figured that would be the place to go. So Jeff and I went over there today in between my calendar classes and got an Epson Workforce 500, so I am trying to get used to it. My sister Jacqui is my computer guru, and my medical guru, and she puts up with my questions on both, "what kinda printer should I buy?" "is Dr. Oz right that your poop should be in the form of letters, and not dots?" ok I did not really ask her that one, I just wanted to see if anyone really reads my blog or just looks at the pretty pictures...hee!hee! I looked on line and we only saved like $14-15.00 getting it there, but oh well. That's an ink cartridge that I can buy now. The thing is is that now when I plug my camera in, it must have worked together with my old printer, cause my pictures upload with Picasa and not like I used to. I will get it all figured out eventually. I am just glad that now I can print some color copies for our Fall Fest on this coming Saturday.
Have a great Monday, and thanks for stopping in!
