A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned

3-D Items

25 Sep

Wow, don't that make sense in this day and age?  My friend and fellow Demonstrator Sheri (Hey S2) always says don't spend your change. Put it in a jar and when you are going on a trip, like Convention or something, then turn all your change in and you would be surprised how much money you have saved.

So I have a jar that I keep my change in, this is a jar that used to keep the Ribbon Originals in, but now they come on a spool so I don't need all these jars, so voila! Look how cute it is?

Molly mad money 002 copy Stamp Set: Quirky Alphabet,  Today's Forecast, Cowboy Kid

Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir Black, Blush Blossom, Brocade Blue, Rose Red

Paper: BG Paper from Joannes, Whisper White, Brocade Blue

Misc: Craft Knife, Serif Essentials Sizzix, Scallop Circle #2 Sizzix, Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon, Black Gingham, White Taffeta

Now just a little thing that I have noticed since I have been using contraband stamp sets, a lot of the stamps out there are clear polymer or whatever it is called. I love the Stazon ink for watercoloring, but the clear stamps don't seem to like that ink.  So I tried the Palette Hybrid Pad and that works great with the clear stamps, and it is waterproof, so if you are a coloring fanatic like me you won't have any problems. For a limited time you get one of these pads for FREE when you buy the Quirky Alphabet, so that's a great deal.

Molly mad money 004 copy I colored the face with Blush Blossom and then added a bit of Rose Red in areas to emphasize the "madness".

The letters I just stamped on the background paper and cut them out.The alphabet already has the black border on it, so it easy to cut out, and it looks great.

Molly mad money 001 copy For the lid, (which looks yellow….grrrr!!!!!) I just covered the chipboard "M" with Brocade blue paper. I stamped the paisley from Cowboy Kid on it, the background paper had a paisley look to it.

Tied some ribbon and glue dotted it on top.

I think we should go decorate all our jars!  I did one, now it's your turn!

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
