The Thunder Rolls…

This 'n' That

14 Aug

…so I will be quick tonight.

I got the cutest award today from one of my Island INKer Cousins – Lori Barnett www.loribarnett.blogspot.com and I have never seen this one.Love_your_blog_award  I really appreciate the award Lori- Thank you very much, and I am so glad that we know each other now, and can hardly wait till we get to meet.

So what I have to do is:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.

2. Link the person you received your award from.

3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.

4. Put links of those blogs on yours.

5. Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated.

I personally like this award cause it does not have to be stamping or scrapbooking or crafting related, so that is fun.

I nominate the following people:

Cindy Lawrence – cause she's my sistah, and I love her dearly – www.onehappystamper.typepad.com

Susanna Boyd – cause she is the Queen for finding all sorts of awesome stuff in blogland – www.cardoftheweek.com

Holly Lash – I have never met Holly but her mother Barbara Lash is a dear friend of mine and her blog is hilarious, please note her blog has nothing to do with stamping - www.hollywouldmother.blogspot.com

Maureen Stivala – she is one funny lady, and a sweetie pie and a Demonstrator of my BFF Tracy – www.moreofreenscreations.blogspot.com

There that should keep ya busy….Holly's blog alone will keep you busy for days, and I warn ya, go put your Poise Pad on right now!

So tell me this, anyone out there that reads my blog that knows anyone that drives for UPS or maybe I really need to chat with someone in the main office.  How in this day and age they can't have the directions to my house in their system…yep you have heard it here before folks…a new driver and he is totally lost finding me and UPS doesn't give him the directions I gave them over the phone.  Its always when I have a big order or an important order coming too. My UPS driver Curtis usually comes at 11:00 and when he was not here by noon, I got a little worried, by 3pm, I was very worried, cause I needed stuff that was in that order.  I got my DIVA cards and my Downline meeting this Saturday. I called UPS and got their whole rigamorole, and the guy finally shows up at like 6:30, and if my hubby and brother in law had not been driving in the lane at the same time as he was leaving he was not even gonna stop.  He did not even drive up to the dang house to read the house numbers.  OK, I got that out of my system.  I mean they must know I need to get some BLOG CANDY fixed up!!!! So tomorrow I promise I will post the BLOG CANDY!

Convention 08 displays 010 copy Here is another display card I did, and this one was inspired by my AZ Mum Marlene.

You cut out a rectangle out of the center of some vellum, sponge the color in the hole, stamp with the same color you sponge with, then remove the vellum, and continue to stamp.

I could always do it as a tutorial some day..let me know if you want me to.

OK, I think I am off of here before I get electrocuted or blow up the computer.

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

re: UPS; isn't that the CRAZIEST thing? i had a package i knew was being delivered. i had a tracking ID, and could 'see' it was in the system and would be at my house the following week. i was going on vacation, so called UPS to ask them to hold it. as computerized as they are, there was no way to 'tag' my delivery with a note [get this] unless i called the day it was to be delievered! so they could do it, just not in advance.

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
