Childhood Memories

This 'n' That

24 Aug

So as I was reading blogs last week or so, ya know how ya bounce from this one to that one, and back to this one and ya end up somewhere ya don't even know how ya got there….at least that happens to me, but then I write down on my shopping list as I walk into the store where I parked.  "to the left of the out door, with the arrows going both way, near the cart corral" I mean it, I forget where I am parked if I don't park at the same place or write it down, and oh my gosh my BFF Tracy can tell you how many time I have told her "aisle 3, and when I call you in an hour ya gotta tell me where I am parked" – right Tracy?? Cause nothing is worse then blabbering on the phone and going into the store only to panic and go where the heck did I park.  And now adays with everything open 24 hours, you can't even sit outside the store and wait for the parking lot to empty, cause that ain't happenin'.

So back to what I started talking about, I got on a blog that had the cutest stamp set, but they were out of Hawaii, so I googled Sarah Kay (I think I put stamps at the end) and there were a couple websites, and this one Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps was out of PA so I ordered a couple Sarah Kay stamps, yeah I know, I hear ya "Diana what are you doing?" but I still like to stamp "just for me" and the last month or so I have dabbled in non SU! sets, don't yell at me!  I am a true SU! fan and live and breath SU! but I like to try new things and especially when I saw these. I swear I had posters in my room when I was a kid with these same girls.  They are Holly Hobby'ish and they are so cute.

I used everything Stampin' Up! except the stamp set, so I hope you will like it and not mind if I stray once in a while.

Sarah kay picnic of daisies 006 copy Card recipe:

Stamp Set: Picnic Lunch or also called Picnics of Daisies

Paper: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Muirfield DSP, watercolor Paper

Ink: Stazon Jetblack, More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, So Saffron, Going Gray

Misc: crafters tool kit, white gel pen, Designer Buttons,Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Big Shot Pennant Die for scallop edge, aqua painter

Sarah kay picnic of daisies 007 copy

Look how cute her little innocent face is.

After I stamped it I was like oops the artist has her signature on the set…so I just left it, but not sure if I will cut that off.

The only thing with these stamps are they are the clear stamps that you have to mount each time you use them, and I am not a big fan of that.

Give me my wood mounted stamps any day.

Well I hope you have a great Sunday, and thanks for stopping in.

Hugs, Di

I love love LOVE SU too, but that doesn't keep me from using other stamps. The stamping world is too huge not to. I do stick with the SU card stock and ink anymore because the quality and coordination can't be beat!

I love these cards and stamps! I had a Holly Hobbie lunch box. Wish I still did. Going to have to go check out Sweet 'n' Sassy!

Hi Di! Oh! I love, love, love Sarah Kay Stamps! I have all the ones I could find! I don't know how old you are but I thought the same thing when I saw these stamps. I used to be a big Holly Hobby fan. You should see the other stamps that are similar to Sarah Kay at http://www.funkykits.com. They are Sugar Nellie stamps (Sweet Art Ebony: Honey and Pip) They remind me of the same thing. I think I'm a stamp junkie. I hate that I can't just have one!!
The card came out beautifully! I love your coloring. Good Job!! Julia

I am also a SU! fan 98% of the time. I loved the Sweet & Sassy stamps too! I had to have the Chocoholic and the Purse sets. I don't like stampin' with acrylic either. That is a cute stamp set. I forgot about Hobby Holly!

I have that stamp and the one with the baby chicks and side view of her. The reminded me of Holly Hobbies as well. I also love the Magnolias which are so cute as well. Love how you colored her. i just made a card with both of my Sara Kay stamps for the Great Granddaughters who had a birthday this month. Tylar thought took a picture of her and colored it! Yea, that's it! LOL

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
