Serene Spring Beauty

This 'n' That

13 Jul

Well even though I made it,  I still am going to call it a beauty. This is my favorite set so far that I have seen from the new catalog.  Basically it’s cause you can color it, but I love doing the little sceneries.  My favorite thing is obviously doing the cloud with the scallop circle, that makes the sky so lifelike. I actually just noticed I forgot to put the little itty bitty on the bottom for dirt, oh well…too late now!  Now Sheri will tell you – huh Sheri? That pictures do not do the cards justice. She came to class tonight with Jaime and Jessica – hey girls, and she saw these cards in person and she told me that in real life they look way better.

I also added some Crystal Effects on the butterfly, the flower centers, and also the little ladybug on the blade of grass, is that not the cutest little detail?

I also paper pierced a strip of the new Bella Rose paper, and then connected the dots with a chocolate chip marker to make it look like stitched ribbon, and then added one of the new buttons. I added a little piece of whisper white cardstock cut real thin and “threaded” the button for some faux thread.

Here you can see some of the layering involved. I love to sit and cut out paper, I mean heck some of the pieces were so small, I had to hold them with tweezers, I get that cutting gene from my Granny I think.

I had two rounds of Fresh Cuts class today, and everyone loved their projects I think.  I got my card pretty much done for tomorrow’s post, but want to make sure tomorrow, (I am headed to bed) so there will be no sneak peek tonight.

Brillante

I also was presented a Brillante Weblog award from Adela Rossol http://creationsbyar.blogspot.com/ today…Thanks AdelA – ha!!! Loved your little message to me! Hee! Hee!

This is what I need to do:

  • The winner places the Brillante Weblog logo on their blog
  • Place the link from whom you received the award on your blog
  • Send this award to at least 7 other bloggers, who stand out by their actuality, themes and design
  • Place the links of these blogs on yours
  • Leave a message on the blogs of your choice, so they know they’ve won.

So the Blogs that I will give this award to are:

Bevithia –http://bevithia.blogspot.com/2008/07/dressed-for-christmas.html

Jacqui – my sister – http://sisterlines.blogspot.com/

Faith – http://stampinwithmarkiesmom.blogspot.com/

I mean there are tons more, but I better stop there…and Adela only did 3 so I am too!

I am so jealous!!!! I am green with envy!!! My BFF Tracy and her cutie tight patootie hubby went to see Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand tonight in PA!  Oh I wish I had been there. I mean they are my guys ya know. I can only hope she got some good pictures, and made sure to tell Craig that I am still his number one fan and Tracy was there so I could live through her tonight.  Ohmmm!!!! She’s channeling me!!!! Oh and not only is she channeling me, she is emailing me to tell me that they played for almost 3 hours!!!  OMG! I am even more jealous now, but she did talk to Craig and he remembers me, well of course he would, don’t you think you would always remember a freaky stalker?

Anyway, have an awesome Sunday and thanks so much for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

These pictures are nice, however, they truly don't do your cards justice! That's what I keep saying about mine too…or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it! You all that can't take Diana's classes in person should be jealous of those of us that can…her work is awesome!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
