Well a sweet girl that I do business with Cindy Lyles (hey there Cindy), she is my connection for coasters, magnets, things like that.
She also is an amazing stamper and makes such beautiful things, and not just cards, she is such a think out of the box stamper, you have to check her out..go to www.starlitstudio.typepad.com . One of the things that she makes are called inchies, and here is one of the cards. I asked her what the heck they are, and they are 1″ squares, and she uses matboard I think she said, so it is thicker. But they are adorable.
So I thought well I would do my version of this card using my new Owl set that we got on cruise, and well I cheated, my squares are actually 1 1/4″ squares, so they are faux inches, they are inchandquarteries. I don’t have a 1″ square punch and I was having a hard time figuring out how to cut a 1inch square hole in paper to lay on my SU! catalog to see what would look good 1″ size, so I punched with my 1 1/4″ and used it instead…Yeah you can laugh all you want and shake your head, I hate math.
I love this, I am pretending, it is Jeff, Eric and me, and Eric is upside down in the center, cause he is acting like a goofball. He’s a hoot!
I just used watercolor paper, but to get that thick look like matboard would be, what I did was just put the little squares on dimensionals and that pushed them out a bit from the card. Fun eh?
So the other day I had a dentist appointment, and got to meet our new dentist, he is very young, and nice and the office is so up to date. I love his teeth, OMG! he has pointy canines on the bottom and top, and I commented about them, and he said “yeah they are little vampire teeth” well if he only knew what that did for me. I had to go back today to have a filling replaced and a crown and I so wanted to ask about having my canines just lengthened a little, I mean not so to scare anyone….but then I thought ok Diana be not so freaky, only be freaky on the inside, not the outside, so I let it go…for now!!!!
So I got the Blade Trilogy in the mail the other day, and I am excited to watch that. We have only seen the first one, and so Jeff has some time off over the long weekend, and we will be watching them. The third one has Ryan Reynolds in it…now that boy/man/hunk has a bod that won’t quit, so I am excited to watch that one.
My girlfriend Shannon (hey girl) has got me excited to read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, so I have those on order and they should be here next week. They are…surprise!! vampire books and the author is actually from Phoenix, and they are making a movie that should be out in December.
So today I turned the TV on, while my mouth was defrosting from my Novocain, and Oprah was on and she had all these things from the Smithsonian, Fonzie’s leather coat, Rocky’s gloves, etc. and one item was the Ruby Slippers from Wizard of OZ, so of course she wants to put on white gloves so she can touch them I think the guy that was showing her was a little put off, he showed her by delicately picking them up, where the yellow brick road stuff was on the felt on the bottom, and she was like I wanna touch em or something, and she grabs both of them and I thought she was gonna bang em together, and say “There’s no place like home” and knock all the ruby’s off or beads or bangles. Sometimes Oprah drives me nuts…I don’t watch her much, cause sometimes I think she is a little full of herself, like when she has a singer on and you wanna watch the singer, but they show Oprah singing in the audience…well I don’t wanna see Oprah singing…so anyway, I know she is a great woman and has done a lot for a lot of people, but I have to be in an Oprah mood to watch her anymore.
I have been reading the comments you all have been posting to win the blog candy, and some have me laughing so hard, keep them up!
Thanks for stopping in, and have a great Thursday!
Hugs, Di
Love your take on inchandquarteries! You have probably broken through the bonds of restriction so many 1-inch-square-punchless others felt!
Or at least start a new trend…There may be a whole new market open for inchandquarteries and accessories…Thanks for yet another giggle!
Di – I gotta tell you I sooooooooo agree with you on the Oprah thing. I really think she's a wonderful woman…very "self-made" & generous etc. But her show has turned into more about her & less about whatever it's supposed to be that day. LOL And the amount of commercials…OY! I know they have to have that many to pay for the darn show, but I lose interest waiting through all of them.
Too STINKIN' cute!!! I love that you put Eric upside down….too funny! You are so darned clever…love that sense of humor! 🙂
hahahha I love that Eric is upside down!!! You are such a sweetheart!!! and a CLEVER, CREATIVE STAMPER!!!!!
I happened to catch Oprah the time Tom Cruise jumped on the sofa. She was fawning over him, ga-ga goo-goo. I quit watching her.
Love your cards and the tying with a fork.
