Blog Candy is Dandy…and the Winner Is…

This 'n' That

9 Jul

I was gonna have Eric pick the name for me, but he is making Monster Cookies, and well my belly says let him keep baking.  He has a great lady that comes a few days a week and works on HAB with him and then some Respit too, so I leave them be.

So as per Cindy’s suggestion I let the random.org place pick the number.  I just wrote everyone’s name down as the comments came in and gave them a number…if there were repeat posts I did not count those.

Random Integer Generator

Here are your random numbers:

78

Timestamp: 2008-07-09 19:11:19 UTC.

And number 78 is: Kathy T. – and her funny story was…

Love your blog and check it frequently. Nothing too funny, but I’ve finished the card and found the inside stamped upside down. I also, turn a blank piece of cs over to apply adhesive. My 2yo GD loves to create with me and must have her paper trimmer and glasses at her table, just like Bobo.

So Kathy T, send me an email with your mailing address and I will get your blog candy out right away!

Thanks to everyone for playing.

****************************************************************************************************

.or would that be Blandy?

I will keep this post on the top until Wednesday July the 9th at noon Arizona time, and then I will pick one winner. So please make sure to scroll down for my latest entry!

Well I am so amazed I hit my 50,000 hits today, and I only started my blog in February. Wowza!

So here is my first blog candy, it includes: a package of Carousel Notes, a Pack of Prints 6×6 Background Paper, a Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive, For a Friend stamp set, 10 yds of Wild Wasabi Striped Ribbon, some Flower Fusions, a small metal tin, and the best part..some Blisses and some Kisses!  I hope you like it!

I don’t have any fancy random number picker doohickey, so it is just gonna be me writing your name on a ticket and letting Eric pick the winning name out of a bucket…ok?

All you need to do to enter to win is leave one comment (only one per person please) on this post with a funny or weird thing that happened to you while you were stamping or scrapbooking. That’s it!  I will contact the winner on the 9th of July!

Thanks so much for stopping in, and I look forward to giving away my first, but hopefully not my last Blog Candy!

Hugs, Di

I love Wild Wasabi and will probably go into mourning when it retires. Anyway, the last funny thing that happened to me at a friend's workshop was they were counting how many times I said "Wild Wasabi." Ha ha…real funny, girls:)

Congrats on the blog hits – I love your projects! One funny thing that my husband pointed out (and teased me about) when I was stamping is – when I have a piece of paper that I have to layer for a card and it is completely blank, I still *turn it over* to apply adhesive – to the back (even though there is no back/front – it is blank!). Now I notice myself doing this all the time and it sometimes makes me chuckle. Does everyone do this?? Anyway, thanks for the blog and the candy offer! Good stuff!!

Last night I was at a friend's house stamping, as we always do on Monday nights, and I have a bag with all of my stuff that I bring. When I left at 1am (I wasn't leaving until my project was done), I got pulled over for speeding. I had put my craft bag in my baby's car seat. The cop asked me what was in my bag and I told him. He totally started laughing that I was stamping so late and let me go. He apparently thought stamping was very funny. So, stampin up got me out of a speeding ticket, I guess!

Congrats on so many visitors! Funny…hmmm…well I went to a scrap retreat a few years ago and spent the whole weekend scrappin…no that's not the funny part….when I got home I was completely exhausted (as most of us are after 3 days of straight scrappin) and went to bed. The next morning I woke up and thought my head was going to fall off….Literly! Off to the chiropractor I went, to find out I had slipt two discs in my neck…when asked what I had been doing the chiropractor said that was the first time she had head of someone slipping discs in their neck from looking down for three days straight! Scrappin can be dangerous! It's funny now…not so much that day! 🙂

Hmmmm, I am not sure about funny?? Other than me thinking it is??? JK!! I, thanks to you, have been able to become someone I wasn't. Since the day we met at Shelba's & I created those two Christmas cards….. have been hooked on stamping & amazed that I DID THAT! I have met so many wonderful people who also enjoy this sick passion. And anytime I am with any of them, there is always laughter! Thanks for this opportunity & Congrats!!

Congratulations on the hits! I love your tutorials! The only "funny" thing I can think of is something that happened to me today. I stamped an image, colored it, cut it out, and applied adhesive… Then the phone rang so I had to leave it. When I came back, it was gone! I couldn't find it ANYWHERE! So I gave up and stamped another image… finished my card and forgot all about it. That is, until I saw my poor dog walking around with it stuck to her backside! I must have knocked the image onto the floor, where she sat or laid on it. Hmm.. Never thought about stamping the dog! 🙂

Love You! Thanks for all the Joy and Laughter you bring us all!!!
    BFF!! Tracy

I do have a cute story for the Readers…
At a Class , I was talking to my Customers about a New Set I just got! Holding it up talking with Passion about how great it was. I made the comment, (we ALL have done). " Oh My Gosh! I can't sleep at Night thinking about what I can do with this Set!" with that, we hear my Husband from the Livingroom… "I wish I were that New Stamp Set!!!" Oh the Hearts of a Rubber Stamper!! When the passion for a Stamp Set surpasses the Passion for our Loved ones! But it fades only to be replaced by the next New Stamp Set!!!!!!!!!

Some of these stories are great! My hubby, teenage son, and now 7 year old son lovingly refer to my hobby as "crap-booking". They always say it in a sweet way, just to see me give them "the look".

Congratulations! Great blog! My husband sometimes would want some company to chat with, inbetween the "channel surfing", so I would sometimes bring my stamping in the room and do that, well I guess I would get a "little" carried away and apparently more noise than company, so needless to say I am back doing my thing in "my" little corner of the world! Thanks for the chance at this awesome treat!!!

Hmmm, don't thing these are all that uncommon but they're still pretty annoying:

I created an entire card, all embellished and stamped, backwards.

Or the time I dropped a stamp, fully loaded with pigment ink, on my brandy new carpeting …

Not really funny, but why is it that whenever I drop an ink pad, it lands ink side down? I think that it's the "Stamping Zone". Weird things happen all the time in the "Stamping Zone". Asking the customers to remind you what you were saying…having one of those Senior moments. (Funny part is that everyone in the class could relate and all started to laugh!) 🙂 kt

Not sure this is a funny….but when I am having girlfriends over to scrap or make cards my dog "knows" we are going to have "treats" and he will follow me everywhere once I start to put up the long tables. He will not stop circling until I give him some snacks…and usually each of the girls brings him something …so maybe that is why he has these behaviors.

Hmmm…something funny while stamping…maybe the time I reached across the table and layed my arm down on a black ink pad. I had the exact impression of a black ink pad on my arm. My husband teases me and calls me and my buddies "the dirty dozen." That night ~ I truly was!

Congrats on so many hits! I check your blog daily-I love it and you are so funny! Funniest thing happened at a workshop I did for a friend of a friend. We were making a card with scalloped circles and the hostess couldn't find hers after applying snail to it. After looking all over the table and under it we realized it was stuck to her shirt right in the center of her breast. I announced that there were multiple uses for our punches-some even our husbands would appreciate! Needless to say we laughed til we cried! Thanks for the opportunity to win your candy! 🙂

My funny moment happened at a workshop. I did an ice breaker that consisted of going around the room sharing how each person met the hostess. The hostess name was Sue. This one lady says "I met Sue at a coin operated laundry"…right there I'm thinking "Oh, what an unsual way to meet, this is going to be a good story". But then the lady who was talking breaks up in laughter. It turns out that she loves to joke and make up stories, but so does Sue. So when she looked at Sue's face she couldn't finish her made up story. Ever since then evertime I e-mail this customer I think of that line "I meet her at a coin operated laundry". Maybe it's one of those "you had to be there" moments. Thanks, Sandra R.

Congrats on your 50K hits! Great blog candy! My most recent "funny/weird" thing is this. I have a craft room, but I tend to spread outside that room, and the dining room table is often covered in "stamp stuff". But about a week ago, my husband came out of our room holding a stamp (the orange slice from Tart & Tangy to be exact). He said, "I can live your stamp stuff taking over the front of the house, but I don't think I should be finding stamps in my sock drawer!" I have no idea how it got there. Crazy stamps! Anyway, thanks for the change to win cool stuff.

I did a 2 page LO of our trip to Niagara Falls. When I was done, I was so busy admiring my handywork that I never noticed that I had affixed the picture of the Falls upside down. My daughter (who was 8 at the time) asked why the Maid of the Mist was upside down! LOL!! Thankfully I was able to pull the picture off and fix it without ruining the layout.

One time when I was scrapping with 6 other women–some I had met for the first time, I opened a bottle of flavored water–did not realize it was carbonated. It exploded all over my stuff plus the stuff of the women on each side of me—I was horrified. Since then, I have been very careful about what kind of water I have.

I love your blog, I have you on my Google REader! Yep, I have put the sentiment on upside down too! But I do have a story that makes me realize how my students at school feel when they are learning something new! I was a Newbie at my monthly stamping class with quite a few experienced stampers. We had 3 cards demonstrated to us and then broke into 3 groups to travel to the stations. I was at a station and COULD NOT cut my paper correctly! I felt so bad that I was wasting the paper that I had my "teacher" cut it for me!!! It took me a while to learn how to use the Fiskars paper cutter! I was just used to the heavy duty straight arm cutter at school. Neat blog candy and congrats to you!

Congrats – LOVE your work and your blog! Funniest thing while stamping has happened more than once while teaching a class… fortunately, everyone in class was a friend. I don't remember what I was doing, but I pulled one of those, "it's SO easy! All you do is fold here, cut here, turn inside out, and voila!" Only, it doesn't work. So you end up with the embarassed "I swear, it was so easy the first time I did it! No, really – I swear it works!"
