How Cute is This?

This 'n' That

16 Jun

Well I guess the surprise was on me.  I thought we were gonna take Jeff to see the Indiana Jones movie, but both Eric and Jeff wanted to go see the Incredible Hulk instead.  It was really good, I mean I did not like it as much as Iron Man but it was pretty good.  I used to watch it on TV all the time, and you need to look for the Lou Ferrigno as well as the Bill Bixby  cameos, I love when they do that in movies, I mean if it was not for the original stars they would not have a movie now would they?  I never saw the first Hulk movie and Jeff said this one was better, the best part in the whole movie was the last 3 minutes or so of the movie, I just knew something like that was gonna happen.  Loved it, and that is all I am going to say about that…sounds like Forrest Gump don't I?

So anyway, I am gonna call it an early night but I wanted to post this cute little scallop circle card.  I learned how to do it from Andrea Walford, and you can check out her tutorial at http://andreawalford.com/?p=594. Andrea is a very talented Canadian Demonstrator.

So here is the little card I did.  I was not too happy with the way my scallops ended, I think I was too careful on the way around and I should have overlapped them a little more instead of being right on cause by the time I got to the end they overlapped…but oh well, I think it is still cute.

I used:

Stamp Set: Fun & Fast Notes

Paper: Porcelain Prints Designer Paper, Basic Black Cardstock, Watercolor paper

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Ruby Red, Blue Bayou, River Rock, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie  and Wild Wasabi Classic Inks

Misc: 1/2" circle punch (I glued them in a row behind stamped image to make a scallop border.  White gel pen, pretties kit rhinestone brad, coluzzle, and slit punch

Not too bad for my first try.  Thanks Andrea for the awesome tutorial.

How about that retired list eh? There were a few surprises, but some I am so glad they are gone….I can hardly wait to see the sneak peek of the new catalog as well as what accessories that will be retiring.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, DI

I saw your blog mentioned on card of the week and have been looking at it for an hour. I loved your tutorials on emerging color and the forkin' bow and the box in a bag. You are a fun blogger to read too. I just felt like if we knew each other we'd be friends! I loved looking at your stamp room! Wow! Do you have your own building? I'd love to talk to you about how you started stamping up and how you grew your business. Anyway, I sound like a stalker! Sorry! Hee hee. I appreicate that you always tell where you got your ideas. It made me feel more normal. (I have not idea if that even makes sense). Anyway, great blog. I'm adding you to my reader and can't wait to get to know you and your work better. Maybe I'll meet you at convention. 🙂

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
