He Went To Jared

Tutorials/Tips

11 May

Well not really, but aint this a pretty little jem? With just a little bit of bling! blog 051108 020

When I was on the Stampin' Up! cruise there was a Demonstrator showing how to make a bracelet using jump rings and Build a Brads.  I thought what a genius.

But I am a total silver girl, and I did not really want to make a bracelet with the Build a Brads, cause heck all I had was silver jump rings, and then this lightbulb went on above my head….hey I will use the Silver Hodge Podge brads, and the Rhinestone brads from the Prettie's kit.

It was not that hard to do.

Here are the supplies you will need:blog 051108 012

Silver Hodge Podge Brads, silver jump rings, rhinestone brads from the Pretties Kit (I used the medium ones), jewelry pliers, and a hammer.

You will need to open up the back of the brads, and lay them flat.

Here is what it looks like from the front.

Just click on the pictures and they will open up bigger so you can see them better.

Here is what it looks like from the back.

This is what it looks like after you loop the jump ring through each of the brad legs, and you just bend them flat to hold onto the jump ring.  You can use the jewelry pliers or personally I used my finger nails…which reminds me I gotta call my girlfriend Terry (hey lady!!) and schedule a nail appointment! Ha!

This is the completed bracelet from the back.  I used the hammer on the backside to kinda pound them a little flat. I just used some silver toggle pieces I had on hand to complete the bracelet. One time years and years ago I sold charms and charm bracelets, and OMG! I had to put it all together, if someone ordered a charm, they came loose and I had to put the jump rings on them…it was a nightmare, and I did not do it for long.

Ta Da! All done, and I have to tell you it probably took me, maybe 15 minutes if that to make the bracelet.

Now understand you would not wear it every day, because it's made out of stuff that is supposed to go on a card or scrapbook page.  But it sure was fun to make and will be fun to wear once in a while.

Graduation is right around the corner, so I have been making up some cards for Ellen's store.  These were fun to make and are generic in color so they will be good for boys or girls, and not really in any school colors.

This card came about by me not having a graduation set, I just had the hat from the stamp set Year after Year, and just used the Big Deal Alphabet, and that's it.  Very simple and pretty cute I think.

I want to wish all you Mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day!  Don't forget to give your Mum a call, or if there is someone in your life, that is like a Mother to you, like my Arizona Mum Marlene, let them know how much they mean to you, and how much you love them.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
