Happy Birthday Granny!

This 'n' That

12 Apr

Today is my Granny’s 89th Birthday, and we are so looking forward to going home to visit the end of May.

Granny has had a rough past year with her health, but she is getting better every day.

Happy Birthday Granny! We love you and miss you!

This was added after my original post…my sister Jacqui has a blog and posted a picture of Granny, isn’t she beautiful? I mean both of them Granny and Jacqui, I love the Me picture of Jax on the left….so natural….  http://sisterlines.blogspot.com/2008/04/happy-birthday-granny.html

I got a few cards for my birthday, (thanks everyone!) and one card in particular was very impressive. Now I don’t have to tell you who it came from do I?  It was from my BFF Tracy.  Isn’t it gorgeous?  I don’t think you can tell where I drooled on it. It has all these layers and glitter too.

This picture shows better how the banner sticks up and is bowed out a little.  So beautiful, it is a piece of art.

I wanted to show a few pictures of some of the flora and fauna in our yard.  We have to enjoy it now, cause in the summer’s 115 degree weather everything is brown. My husband has about a dozen rose bushes, and most of them are in bloom, but this one in particular is loaded with flowers.  When we left for cruise they were just in bud and when we got home they were all in bloom.

The sun and heat really tears them up in the summer, but they are beautiful right now.

The other day he filled a vase with them from all the different bushes and different colors and he put the vase in the guest bathroom, as that has a vintage rose theme.

See that red hanging lamp? We got that in Bermuda and I love it.  It holds a tea-light candle.  We did not know where we wanted to hang it when we bought it, but it looks gorgeous in here and when the candle is lit and the light is out in the bathroom, it has a gorgeous reflection.

Here we are trying to decide what one to choose, they had tons of them, all different sizes. We went back the last day we were in port and picked out the red one.  I think we made the perfect choice.

Jeff also has a small garden, this year he is calling it his salsa garden, he has tomatoes, cilantro, green onions, basil, seems like I am missing something. He does have carrots in there too, but those you don’t put in salsa, at least I don’t.  The tomato plants have little tomatoes on them already, I can hardly wait till they are ready to eat, I love tomatoes from the garden, the ones we get in the grocery store here in Arizona, are horrible.

Have a great Saturday, I have my first round of my Bloomin’ Beautiful stamp set class, so it will be fun to see everyone.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hugs,

Di

OMG!!!!! I LOVE the Lamp in the Bathroom!!!!
It is Beautiful! Now I'm kickin myself wishing I had got one too! Jeff's Roses are to DIE for! (Ug gee guess THAT wasn't the right phrase, but he could put them on my grave someday! I know I'm making you squirm with that kinda talk)
Hey I showed Steve the Teddy in your bathroom and he couldn't believe it was the same one, and smiled when I told him our plan.( I should of showed you she had it on Cruise!!)
Dang that B-Day card is pretty nice! Sometimes we make things and they aren't in our presents long enough to enjoy them or even remember them.
When you talk to Granny wish her a Happy Birthday from your BFF and Blogging Stalkers!!
    Love Ya Toots!!

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
