To Tweak or Not to Tweak?

This 'n' That

1 Mar

That is the question.

The definition is, according to Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary:

1. to pull sharply, to pluck, to pinch and pull with a sudden jerk and twist

2. to pinch (a person or a body part) lightly or playfully – hmm I thought that was called something else?? – maybe I need Webster’s Tenth New Collegiate Dictionary…

Anyway, stampers have a different definition for Tweak – it simply means take another person’s idea whether it be a card or a scrapbook page, and change it so it is your own style, or so it meets your personal needs…sounds better doesn’t it? And less bruising and screaming is involved.

One of our neighbors (Get Better Soon George) is in the hospital and my hubby is going to go see him today after work.  So Jeff said can you make me a card to give to George?  Well certainly, I can!

So I pulled out this awesome card by one of my Demonstrators, Karen Meinerz tweek blog pics carmex 002 and I love the whole layout of it, the background paper, the hodge podge harware, the ribbon etc.

But George is a horse man, he has about 7 of them, so I had to tweak the card for what I wanted. I got out my western sets, Wanted, Boho West Backgrounds and Bronc Buster, and whipped this little card up last night before I went to bed, that way Jeff could take it with him when he went to work this morning. tweek blog pics carmex 001

Turned out pretty good eh? See how it is basically Karen’s card I just tweaked it so that it was what I needed.

So when people tell me they can’t stamp or they have no imagination, I usually tell them “Can ya copy?” cause that is basically what I do.  I copy all the time…call me little Miss Kinkos – hmm…wonder what definition Webster would come up with for that? Ha!

Enjoy this little lesson in the English language…thanks for stopping in!

Hugs, Di

Hi, my name is Diana Gibbs and I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 1999. I never imagined getting up and talking to people, I am deaf (I wear hearing aids) so talking to strangers has never been a fun thing for me. But put a rubber stamp in my hand and I will talk to anyone.

I hope you can find inspiration and learn new and exciting things while you are here. If there is ever anything you want me to teach you, just let me know!
