One thing I love about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is all the great people I have met over the years. Customers and Demonstrators alike, a lot of them will be friends forever. My BFF Tracy and I say that Stampin’ Up! brought us together, but it does not keep us together. We see each other growing old together, we just argue where the rocking chair sittin’ on the porch will be….Arizona or Pennsylvania. Ha!
I am also very lucky to be part of the group out here in Arizona. I will brag a little and say we have quite a talented bunch of ladies, and I love going to other Demonstrator’s classes once in a while. My Arizona Mum Marlene, has awesome classes, and I will miss one while we are cruising. Sometimes it is just nice to sit, stamp, visit and enjoy not having to prepare a thing!
This cute little bag was made at a class a while ago, it is very simple and reminds me of my Granny because it looks like material from an old dress or apron she used to wear.
I can still remember Granny washing summer dresses, and then she would iron them and then spray them with water, roll them up (well maybe she did not iron them) but then she would put them in a bag and put them in the freezer or the fridge part of the old freezer. My memory is not that good. I think she did this maybe so she could iron them later, that might of been it. So that they stayed damp but did not mildew and then they would iron better. Does that sound right? I will have to ask her when we go home in May.
Tonight I fixed Jens, my Arizona sister from another Mother, and the Mother is Marlene, except we have to pronounce it sistah from anotha Mutha…with a NY accent. Anyhow Jen and her cutie hubby and her 2 little snuggley poo daughters had Marlene, Vinnie (my AZ Dad), Jeff and I over for supper a few weeks ago, and she made these unbelievable delicious, skip the meat and eat nothing but taters please…caramelized onions mashed potatoes. I have made them twice since, the first time they were just ok, as I did not have a potato masher, and I used a cake mixer. Jen used a purier tool. So this week I went in the new SuperTarget…not far from my house! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! And they had an electric knife, purier, and chopping thing, all in one dealiebob on sale. Well that puppy went right in my basket. So I used it tonight and they were much better, I think the third time will be the charm though. I also fixed asparagus grilled in olive oil and you sprinkle them pretty generously with white sugar as they are cooking and the sugar caramelizes on them… yum yum! Jeff cooked some steaks on the grill and we ate like kings…and a queen. We have to get our bellies used to all the food we will be eating while we are cruising. Now don’t think this is how we eat every night…at least once a week we are at the Y-Not restaurant.
Thanks for stopping in, and talk to you tomorrow.
Hugs, Di
